Introduction

Hello guys welcome to my second build for the good old gorgon. Medusa is one of the first goods I played and I feel in love with her although she is not my main when ever I am getting stomped or just on a losing streak I can let her out on to the battlefield and cause some real pain. :D

Skills

Alright we are going to go over what makes Medusa a great pick for someone wanting to main a hunter so lets dive right in to her passive.

Sidewinder- Medusa suffers no movement penalty when side strafing and half movement penalty when moving backwards.

alright so what's the big deal you might be thinking. ITS THE BEST PASSIVE IN THE GAME THATS THE BIG DEAL. Jokes aside this is a solid passive and works great on a hunter the no movement pen form side strafing is amazing and will allow you to kite some of the most annoying gods in the game let alone this passive with hastened fatalis allows me to solo the demon king at lvl 9. But that aside next up is her basic attack buffer.

Viper Shot-Medusa shoos out three vipers is rapid succession dealing damage and poisoning the target for damage over time.

so this ability is going to net you some great damage up front when pulled off at max level dealing 270 damage plus 90% your physical power the poison is nice but nothing to write home about doing 30 plus 10% of your physical power every .5 second for 1.5 seconds at most racking up to an extra 200ish damage. Its a great ability but hard to aim but its not your wave clearer no that spot is for.

Acid Spray-Medusa spits acid straight forward upon hitting an enemy the acid sprays in a cone behind dealing damage to all enemy's in the cone. Upon hitting a statue the acid explodes.

Yes this is your wave clear it dose good damage and hits everything behind the first minion hit nothing more to say about this o wait yea if you manage to kill something your ult and decide to shoot your acid at it it explodes which IS just awesome. :D

Lacerate- Medusa rushes forward and grabs the first enemy god slashing them. the slash reduces the gods healing for a set amount of time.

even though it says enemy god every thing can and will stop this ability minions will stop it only use this ability to chase an enemy good or start combat with one. This is a great escape if no minions are in lane. Now for your ult

Petrify- Medusa dose what Medusa dose best she takes off her mask and lets every enemy good see her pretty face.

Not to much to say about her ULT its nice damage at max level 700 plus 100% of your physical power hurts just know that they need to be looking at you to take full damage if a god is running away you only do 75% damage and slow them.

so with that being said for leveling up your skills you want to go and level your Acid spray first for your wave clear them I my self go 3 levels in lacerate then max out vipershot putting points into your ULT when able.

Items

Alright so as you can see with this build you are going to start off a little weak. So right out of the gate you want to buy charged mace and buy boots this gives you some good movement speed and a little bit of starting power.

After this the first thing you want to do is get 1400 gold and turn that charged mace into transcendence to start building stacks right away now you can do what I do and keep the boots to work on getting the bread and butter for this build hastened fatalis then upgrade to the warrior tabi. Or do warrior tabi first the choice is yours. Now at this point if you have some stacks built up you can go and solo the bull king as I said I solo him at lvl 9 even with bad stacks.

At this point you might be falling behind on DPS just keep working on building stacks and getting 2850 gold to buy bloodforge for a huge spike in damage that 70+ power is just so nice.

Now to end the build I go wind demon and death bringer because they give ok power and that increase to crit is very nice. But you can trade them for what ever you like if I find I am getting focused I do grab shifter shield for a little bit of procreation and damage.

Summary

Hope you guys enjoy the build and have as much fun with this sleeping snake as I do :D

As i said this build is just made to get the bull demon king down by yourself as early as possible . Its no clash build or anything just a build to get that done which this dose and the game type is joust.

Hey, nice job but I have a few things.

1. I don't think you specified which game mode this is for, or if it's just for all of them.

2. Hastened Fatalis and Bloodforge are not items you build 3rd and 4th. They're supposed to be luxury items, and you usually get only one at the end of your build.

3. There's no BB Code formatting whatsoever.

4. You're kind of wrong about how she plays in general. She's strong early game, not weak, and she can bully weaker gods pretty well, even if she builds Transcendence first.

5. I don't get the name. Shouldn't she be an active snake who slaughters her enemies instead of a sleeping snake?

I would say that she has a decent early game but a good mid game. Sleeping snake might refer to her mask but I am not the creator.

Agreed in general with Shlappz. Agreed with GGF as well...she's solid early, but not the best. Her mid, once she can mostly clear the wave quickly and has put a couple of points into Viper Shot, is much better.

@Shlappz, regarding the name, guessing the author just didn't put a lot of thought into the name being an example of her function. Also, author mentions the Demon King, doesn't list starters, and doesn't even start with potions...so I'm guessing he mainly plays Joust. That said, you're right, he absolutely should declare the mode(s) in which the build should be used.

Deermouse, in your big wall of grey text, you say that minions can stop Lacerate...unless something has changed that I'm not aware of, this absolutely goes through minions, and ONLY stops at the first enemy GOD hit. So, technically, you COULD use it to help clear a wave, but you just wouldn't want to...it would waste your only true escape ability, and since it's normally the last ability leveled, it's going to be weak on clear damage.

Starter Items
Also, as previously mentioned, you don't start with potions...you start with tier 1 Boots. Strongly suggest starting with potions, as it's going to be a while before you are able to complete Transcendence. Being able to stay out as long as possible is really important, and those potions will help you with that. 6% move speed with no other stats isn't going to do all that much for you that early. If you need that little amount of speed for escape at the beginning, you're out of position to begin.

Item #3
Traditional item in the #3 spot is usually Asi for the lifesteal/sustain. It also gives a nice boost to attack speed, and carries some flat pen to help with overall damage output. However, you have other options, should you prefer.
  • Hastened Fatalis, as you list, can be somewhat functional at that point, as it at least provides a bit of flat pen. It's perhaps a good option here if you're finding that you need to dodge a lot of abilities, or need the move speed to escape (they're diving you a lot, and your Lacerate isn't quite enough to escape damage/death). You won't get it in this position for best damage output...it's a utility item.

  • You can opt for Ichaival/ Silverbranch Bow for a nice boost to boxing ability mid-game...these items are definitely strong early/mid-game, but you'd sell it late for something else.

  • You could go straight into something like The Executioner. I would consider it if your teammates provide great peel/protection, allowing you to be a bit more aggressive. It's a better option also, if you have another physical god on your team, as the stacks will help their damage output as well.
Lifesteal
As mentioned, Asi is the standard partner for Transcendence builds, but if you do prefer Bloodforge, it's best delayed until later, if only because of the high price. It also doesn't have any penetration, you really want some at that point. As such, Asi serves the better dual purpose..it has both flat pen AND lifesteal.

Build overall
However, there's a potentially bigger issue going on. The problem when building both Transcendence and crit items is that you're automatically blocking 4 out of 6 items. You'll need 2 crit items, movement speed, and Trans. The last 2 spots...well, you sort of need/want 2 things...lifesteal/sustain, and penetration. However, you're also preferring to get Hastened Fatalis, and that just isn't enough pen.

Since I'm guessing you mostly play joust, you may not need the lifesteal all that much, as you can quickly back...but it's still nice to have in a full teamfight and you need some staying power.

As such, Trans builds usually don't get crit...and when they do, they have to decide exactly what their build is going to lack. In your case, you have a ton of power...but you're handicapping your damage output because you don't have strong pen. The Executioner or Titan's Bane is going to serve you much better overall.
