I prefer not to buy a starter in the early game and you will see why later, however you could possibly buy either potions of your choice or buy Warrior's Axe however you will not be able to finish the build how I usually do. If you go with the axe, you should upgrade it into Hero's Axe if the enemy uses heavy CC and in every other case go to Sundering Axe.
You are a guardian who wants some defense early game due to your already good offense, so you should build some early defense. could be swapped for shoes of focus for early CDR and damage.
Gauntlet is always solid for guardians due to its easy to stack defense that gives a huge advantage. Not very interchangeable.
You get attack, make the enemy weaker, AND get defense? Yes please. You can change the order of this item and the next one If the physical opponents are more dangerous.
Your abilities have long cooldowns, so you buy this to make then]m shorter. Having two leaps on such a short cooldown can really help chase or set up your ult. You can buy this before void stone if you need physical protections more than magical protections.
This item is a great utility item that allows you to use blink more frequently to chase and set up your ult kills when the enemy team camp objectives like it's their ventilator. Still, this item can be replaced by any item on the list called "items to consider".
You may have noticed by now that you didn't have a starter item, and this is why. As soon as you hit level 17 and have complete the build up to this point, buy animosity immediately instead of getting benevolence and then buying animosity later. Benevolence is kinda bad on Xing, but animosity has a great ability for him, and this is why you skip the first form. Xing Tian burns his abilities fast, and sometimes has to rely on basic attacks. If you went the Warrior's Axe route, you won't have this slot so this doesn't apply to you.
You pick pridwen for defense, however if you want to get that BIG damage you can opt for Gem of Isolation / Staff of Myrddin to chase or Rod of Tahuti / Rangda's Mask for straight up offense.
I am going to shorten this since I don't want to make this section impossible to read by going into too much detail, with 1 standing for void replacement, 2 standing for breastplate replacement, and three being dagger replacement.
Anti-heal- contagion (2,3) and pestilence (1,3)
Attack- Doom Orb (3) and Chronos Pendant (3)
Defense- Hide of the urchin (3) and Stone of Binding (3) and Oni Hunter's Garb (1,3) and Midgardian Mail (2,3) and Spectral Armor (2,3)
Health- Stone of Gaia (3) and Mail of Renewal (3) and Ethereal Staff (3) and Sovereignty (3)
CCR- Spirit Robe (3) and Mantle of Discord (3) and Mystical Mail (3)
Utility- Witchblade (3) and Winged Blade (3) and Emperor's Armor (3)
Always buy Blink Rune 2nd, and choose between Aegis or Meditation Cloak first. Upgrade Blink Rune when possible.

You've decided to play Xing Tian, the Smite god whose moveset makes him play like a bootleg smash character. Don't be fooled by his guardian status, as he can dish out some major damage later in the game. At the start, play as an aggressive meat shield and try to pole with your one. You have practically no mana, so use abilities sparingly. Speaking of his one, it has incredible tick damage with percentage tick damage, which surprisingly gets a lot of kills. Try to hit multiple people with it in one use and due to it's long range also try to disrupt recalls/ catch the enemy off guard. Your two is not for the damage, but rather for the double CC. First you knock up, then you root. Look out for if the enemies buy beads, and burn them with this ability so they can't evade your ult. Next is your three, which is a leap that has good range and applies defense. In joust, you can use this to juke by going straight through mana/speed/middle xp camp and then using your second jump to juke if the enemy follows. Oh, did I not mention that after the first leap, you get a second leap that you can use for three seconds afterwards that has no mana use? Well you do, and it means that you can juke easily or can cover double the distance. The damage is decent. The reason you're probably playing him is for his four, the washing machine ult. Any enemies within the circle gets stuck in a spin that does extreme damage and throws them in the direction you're facing. This sets up so many team dives and can change a fight so quickly that I would say it's one of the best teamfight ults in the game (Not the best though). Back to mid game now that you know how he works, you will want to chase enemies away from your team when they are retreating and try to finish stragglers off. Go for the weakest link when big fights are happening if your team is fairing well, and if they are losing stay by their side and annoy enemies. In late game, you should be able to straight up murder people and will prioritize killing when your team is gone or setting up kills when they are around.
This is just going to be combos so don't expect chit-chat.
Standard combo- 2,1
Catching up-3,2,1
full kit combo- 3,4,2,1
Big chase-3,3(2nd proc),1,2
Myrddin chase- 3,3(2nd proc),4(try to hit them and if you do then stop this combo and yeet them backwards into the standard),3,3(2nd proc),1,2
Myrddin big damage- 4,1,1,2,3(hit them for damage with both procs)
I feel like here is appropriate to tell you about your passive. Basically, when you do ability damage, you gain a stack of HP5 that can stack up to twelve times and lasts for 18 seconds. It's a pretty fair passive for an upfront guardian, and I recommend always keeping it full by burning abilities on minions when the enemy team is dead or it's running low and nobody is near. Now, let me explain why you buy Blink Rune. When most people see Xing, their first instinct is to camp in towers and poke when he reaches level five. It's really annoying, but that's just how it is. When you see somebody doing this, wait until they think they are safe and then blink into immediately using your ult. Now, start moving towards your tower/ your team and face in that direction. If it doesn't kill them, use your combo or chase them down a side path until somebody kills them. When already chasing with both blink and your for ready, do the exact same thing when you think the time is right. If you don't catch up for any reason, then follow up with your three instead of your ult and then if you still cant hit them with the washing machine then slap them with your one. An easy way to build gauntlet stacks while refreshing your passive stacks is to one the entire lane and then not hit them. Just forget that that lane exists. When your team or the tower eventually kills them, you just kept your HP5 and got 6(+) protections. Rinse and repeat about eight or nine times and you have your gauntlet upgraded in no time. Finally, wash your hands for about thirty seconds on both sides with soap and warm to hot water. This last tip doesn't necessarily have to do with the game, but it is a tip nevertheless and it is important to have good hygiene.
Thanks for viewing my build, and have fun playing the headless hash-slinging slasher. I would love to get feedback via the comments and will make sure to update my guide accordingly.

No prob.
You DO mention in your starters that you prefer NOT to go for a starter, so I recognize that. I also note that in your "Offense but offense" you give the reasoning here. That said, I don't support the idea that Animosity is a good item for him at all. He's got no basic attack function in his kit. And while, sure, you can basic attack in between abilities or when abilities are down, he's not one of those gods that really needs to be attack canceling. Just not a good item for him. Again, WF or SG are great starters, and have functional upgrades that I feel are WAAAAY better than Animosity.
In the end, I'm going to guess this is for Arena or other non-Conquest teamfight modes. Am I correct here?
Hide of the Urchin isn't a very strong tank item at this point. Doom Orb is not an item he should pick up. Same with Chronos' Pendant unless you're going a troll Xing Mage build, in which case maybe Doom Orb, Chronos, Myrddin, and some other offensive items might all fit together (though of course you'll be squishy).
Since you're playing joust I do think animosity is a terrible pick to make. The axe alternatives are fine, however as you will be fulfilling the tank role I do think Watcher's Gift and for joust especially War Flag outshine them. especially since xing can be considered pretty decent during the first lvls and warflag just helps your team outsustain your opponent.
after that, while boots is fine I would actually not recommend rushing Gauntlet of Thebes. While the item is fine if you decide to go Watcher's Gift you don't really need it. IMO it is often better to rush straight into either sovereignity or a magic defense item ( Pestilence, Shogun's Kusari are among my favorites) depending on if they have 2 magical or physical. This is more effective and you can still grab thebes in slot 3 or 4 if you want to.
while void could be gotten I don't think you will need BoV it is super selfish and there are a lot of better items that can give you the CDR.
While a bruiser work could work you will find yourself losing games if the opponent has a warrior or assassin as they can often clean your backline before you can do the same to theirs. Especially since this build is meandering between them.
for a bruiser build I would suggest something along the lines of:
Spartan Flag- Reinforced Greaves- Stone of Binding- Pridwen- Spirit Robe/ Mantle of Discord- Ethereal Staff (or a counter item grabbing ethereal as boot swap) swapping boots and stone of binding in the end for Void Stone and a counter item.
for a tank build:
Sentinel's Embrace]]- Reinforced Shoes-( Stone of Binding)-sovereignity- Shogun's Kusari- Relic Dagger- Spirit Robe or a counter item. swapping boots for whatever you need
And while I feel pretty confident in the things that I stated/suggested, it doesn't mean you have to change to what I say. Others may disagree, you may have found something in particular that you really like.
