i find the good old beads/aegis combo is good, but some others worth considering are included as well ymmv
as alternatives for Spear of Desolation and Soul Reaver respectively when anti-heal or extra penetration is required
I'd like to apologize for my last (disastrous) attempt at a Sol build. Don't hold that against me, this one's a marked improvement.
As always, I'm open to suggestions to make this build even better!
Shoes of the Magi was chosen over Shoes of Focus due to the penetration. It's good to have some early game, especially on a persistent damage dealer like Sol.
Shaman's Ring is my trump card and currently my favorite magical item. It's especially deadly on Sol because every single one of her abilities deals damage multiple times. Think of Stellar Burst. One hit to get the effect on them, and another to take advantage of it. This also makes Radiance surprisingly deadly in a pinch.
Polynomicon. Little did they know I had TWO trump cards! Leading with an ability and following it up with surprise extra damage on the next basic attack never ceases to be a deadly combo. The bonus damage from this plus Radiance is enough to seriously wound most squishies if you can get in close enough. note: not suggesting that as a strategy but when they ambush you it's good to have a trick up your sleeve
Hastened Ring is a near essential item for the "Hunter Mages", a subclass to which Sol belongs. What good is that Unstable Manifestation if you can't keep up long enough to use it? Additionally, the movement speed from this and Shaman's Ring make sure you aren't any slowpoke just dawdling around the arena.
Spear of Desolation is one of my favorite picks for any mage due to its high caliber cooldown reduction. Any Nicolas Cage as active as Sol can benefit from this, as you'll be racking up the kills and assists with ease. Plus, it gives a significant amount of magical power, adding even more bonus damage to your abilities and Polynomicon.
As much as I love it, I would still swap it out for Divine Ruin when facing a strong healer.
Soul Reaver. No, I did not just choose this because I thought Sol needed a "Soul" item. This item is a great topper for the Christmas tree of destruction that is this build. The scaling bonus damage builds off of the already high damage output produced by the other items and adds even more when fighting off a tough guy.
That said, I do still recommend Obsidian Shard when you're faced with an excess of TANK.

Your build is Ok (minus polynomicon), but Kriega's builds are a bit more functional, so definitely look into those.
Beads and Aegis should suffice by themselves. Blink is a bit more for trolling/having fun but horrific should not be in there at all (IMO).
"Shaman's Ring isn't ideal but it isn't the end of the world." and "spear of deso and soul reaver are ok"
Besides Bran, why are you picking on me? I'm literally agreeing with you and Kriega.
How many times do I have to tell people that Polynomicon is not good on Sol. She can't reliably hit the proc after her abilities and neither does she have nice AA-cancels, opposite to Chronos. Polynomicon hasn't been good on Sol since they stopped her 2 from auto-proccing basic attack item effects (note auto-proccing not proccing, as in her 2 using up the poly proc to add extra damage NOT allowing the next basic to use the poly proc which she currently does)
Shaman's Ring isn't ideal but it isn't the end of the world.
Spear of Deso and Soul Reaver are ok.
There's not much point of blink on Sol. Im not even sure why Horrific Emblem is listed as an option. Essentially, listing only Beads and Aegis should suffice.
Re-doing builds: Shoes of the Magi, Bancroft's Talon, Demonic Grip, Spear of Desolation (or Divine Ruin), Telkhines Ring, Obsidian Shard (Or Rod of Tahuti) against a standard team.
Otherwise: Shoes of the Magi, Bancroft's Talon, Telkhines Ring, Spear of Desolation, Hastened Ring, Typhon's Fang if you just want to chase/kill squishy gods.
If you want an ability based build: Bancroft's Talon, Shoes of the Magi, Book of Thoth, Obsidian Shard, Soul Reaver, and lastly either Book of the Dead, Spear of Desolation , Divine Ruin or one of the magical attack speed rings (NOT SHAMANS).
