e.g. tier 2 chronos start > finish boots > get deso or divine (or both)> then finish charon's.
And tier 2 chronos' start (60 power, mp5 and 2 pots) is better than mage's blessing + tier 1 spear for Mid.
Finishing charon's straight after boots seems pretty bad. Especially since the support wont even have a stacked thebes (or thebes at all unless they rushed it before boots).
(Also assuming you're not rushing pendant after boots).
I guess it is bought earlier simply because some want to have it stacked as soon as possible ?

I forgot that you can stack Charon's, but I don't think we should treat it like Thoth or Warlocks.
1. the tier 2 item is great (better than blessing + tier 1 whatever).
2. People following what they hear is meta.
3. Obs shard passive gets procced too easily (e.g. minions), so kinda sucks.
And Seto is talking about Charons, Kriega, not about OB Shard.
I know, I just mentioned why Obs Shard isn't that good in my third point.
In S7 I'm with the same idea, but picking Charon's Coin instead. I always get it after the flat pen item.
But yeah it is kinda, since you're only getting 20%, and you need the 10% from Reaver straight after typically.
Something like:
Chronos' Pendant > Shoes of the Magi > Pythagorem's Piece or Warlock's Staff > Divine Ruin > Charon's Coin > either Soul Reaver or Ethereal Staff.
Fifth item is way too late for main percentage pen.
Also Charon's is built often if you're skipping Chronos, because the tier 2 is too good and mage's blessing sucks. As I said you can go boots > deso/divine (or both) then finish tier 2 pendant to get Charon's.
Note though that this is solo, so you're expecting your lane enemy to counter build, which means they'll likely have closer to 100 magical prots in the first 2 items, which means Pythag's will provide ~10 flat pen equivalence, which isn't terrible.
For mid, obviously not as good.
We were just discussing how Charon's can be built 4th or 5th, now you say it's too late? Remember that we have flat pen + 10% pen from Pythags at this stage.
And Charon's can be built with or without Chronos'.
If you mean after chronos + boots, no, because you need more percentage pen in the form of Charon's, after that you would prioritise reaver over Pythags because Reaver has 10% pen on it now which is too good to pass up in addition to it's base stats + passive.
You could maybe go pen boots > bancrofts > typhons > pythags on some mages,
If anything, I think this item is better due to Chronos' buffs and you don't risk overcapping CDR.
No you definitely don't want to pair it with Chronos' early because it makes you come online too late.
On solo mages, I get it first item for Hades and Zhong Kui.
>You mean Bancroft's + Pythags + Typhoon's? Triple lifesteal?
On Burst mages, and with Magi shoes (assuming typhons passive ignores lifesteal cap).
In solo, I get Pythags first item for Hades and Zhong.

For mid mages, I never considered going 3 (4 with boots) lifesteal items. Is it just for Typhoon's passive?
>For mid mages, I never considered going 3 (4 with boots) lifesteal items. Is it just for Typhoon's passive?
- Yes and because pythags has 10% to go with typhons 10% pen.
Something like this I guess, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBiUigdRipk
(Probably wouldn't go that build on Merlin though).
Why? Just because T2 Bancroft's is better than Warrior's + Tiny Trinket?
I found out that Pythag's helps his transition into mid/late game more, because it provides more health and aura for his teammates.

He just gains too much pressure from it, especially when you have full bancrofts online.
Pythags aura won't mean too much on him because he's diving the backline, he's not someone that sits in the backline like Baron.
