Zhong Kui is definitely a very good character... but I would still pick Zeus over him.

Zhong Kui is pretty strong. A pain in the *** to gank due to his stun + protections from the passive.

A good way to differ a good Zhong Kui player from a bad one is to see if they're passive os aggressive early. A aggressive Zhong Kui on early game is dumb, because he so squishy and his damage is negligibe. The problem with Zhong Kui is that he needs to farm to get strong, and to have a useful ultimate.

As everyone above mentioned, Zeus, Ao Kuang and Agni are on better spots.

... I hope Agni becomes trash tier at some point. soon.

Agni isn't nearly as bad as Zeus, or Ao Kuang. Zeus just completely destroys in almost all aspects and Ao just one hits you with his dumb *** tornado...

It's just a hate I've for Agni. He has been good for so ****ing long, that it's stupid. Many people say; '' Agni is not easy, it's skill''. Yeah sure, with a ultimate that costs no mana and has a very low cooldown. I hope those nerfs are the beginning of Agni's end.

And yes, Zeus and Ao Kuang are strong. The problem with Ao is the casting time they've changed, and the animation problem. Zeus needs nerfs on damage.

Not reading many of the other posts, just gonna give my currently unbiased opinion.

I find him exceptionally strong. Not many *pure* mages (not Chang'E, Ra, etc) have built in sustain. He contends with Anubis, but doesn't have to build lifesteal. That exorcism, when maxed first (as it should) nukes enemies AND heals for a ridiculous amount.

The problem, is he might as well be physical. Every one of his abilities is severely short range. Additionally, there's no really good way to build him...his Book of Demons provides incentive to go AA mage, but it's not enough to matter, and building pure mage will let him nuke a bit but not enough. If you're forced into a teamfight without your bag of demons full, you lose. However, with a full bag of demons, the enemy just ROTS.

Grab upgraded blink, stack your demons, and blink into a team with your ult activated. Very strong.

On another note, the built in protections in his passive make him one of the tankiest mages in the game. Only agni has a *really* decent escape, so since ZK has a stun, slow, and protection steroid, he's the second most survivable mage, in my opinion. Third if you count Ra, but interestingly enough, Ra is seen more in the solo lane than the mid lane...hmm.

Overall Evaluation: Weaker than current meta mids (Agni will never leave top, even with the damage nerf to his ult), but still a very very strong pick if you know how to play him. He's a lane bully, who if fed, becomes a nuker in teamfights. If you go even with the enemy, however, I think you lose the overall laning phase, as they do better with even items than you due to simple range.

I like Zhong for the same reasons i like Nu Wa, their pretty damn unique in comparison to other gods. So with that being said i intend to master him...

From my experience he's firstban/firstpick material. He can make or break a midlane, if you play him well enough with all the sustain he has. I have noticed a fair amount of people just aren't that good with him, despite how easy he seems, to me.
