No, Hastened Fatalis is what made him an assassin. Remember how no one used to pick Vamana, but now he's very common? Someone discovered that giving him Hstalis made him into an insane chaser who can tower dive you for days.

The problem is, how do we prevent people from buying Hastalis? I buy Hastalis when attack speed is needed, like for self-buffs like Ring of Spears and Butcher Blades. To reduce the viability of Hastened Fatalis, there needs to either be a reduction in damage or something that's an incentive to build power or protections over attack speed.

Don't people build Hastened Fatalis on him to have the sticking capabilities on his ultimate?

@Chiulin: Yes, but also for the damage. It's the same reason why you build attack speed on Odin, to make use of the power buff you get.

This lowers his defenses, but makes him play super aggresive, being able to stick and chase people and kill them with his self buffs and burst. In other words, an assassin.

@Swampmist: They're good. We all seem to agree that his passive could stand to make him a bit less specialized.

I think Clear The Path is fine, it makes him an insane chaser and he has a lot of mobility. The knockup is also pretty strong.

But I think your change to Armored Umbrella is a bit too complicated. If you want an incentive to build protections, then it should just scale party from protections.

Umbrellarang is also fine, it deals decent damage early, and late it's used for the CC. Just like Cupid's Fields Of Love or Artemis' Calydonian Boar.

I'm a bit wary of increasing protections on his Giant Form. He already can regen potentially 50% of his max health, and increasing protections is just going to make him even more invincible.

Maybe "Vamana's steps shake the earth, dealing 10/20/30/40/50 damage + 10% of his protections per second in a 30-foot aura?"

I still don't like Clear the path if he's trying to become much more tanky as I've always seen it as a purely escaping tool because of how hard it is to control. Maybe it's just me.

Not really.

Agreex hasted gives him way more kill potential then he had before which was no kill potential. However there are a few reasons why he is not an assassin even with it.

It is still very easy to get away from him. Every god that has a dash/leap/movement buff/ sprint/ combat blink can escape him with no effort. And there are a lot of them who can do that. The difference is compared to the time before hasted is that he can no stick to people better in team fights where his job went from being a six seconds of YOU SHALL NOT PASS! To a warrior who is in the front line's, tanking heavy damage while dealing a good bit of damage.

That's the purpose of his ult. To stand their in the aoe's next to the tank protecting the adc and mage while he starts clearing a way for them to the enemy to their squishies. Thats the purpose of hasted mana ults. To make a way to the enemy squishies while taking the full assault of aoe's.

Hasted's job is to help him get to them, so he can send them any where he wants.

The most rudemantory idea of an assassin is to go in and turbo burst some one down with everything he has and potentially die in team fights.
A smart vamana won't go for that turbo burst because that would defeat the entire purpose of him and his ult. It would ultimately be ineffective because he ends up getting bursted down even in his ult before reaching anyone.

With a normal vamana build you would end up hitting somewhere between 200-250 damage on squishies with every normal swing. That is no assassins burst sub.

Go in, **** them up, smash them with Armored Umbrella and it's 100% power scaling, slow them with Umbrellarang and it's 80% damage scaling, turn big, smack them dead.

The abilities alone deal 240% scaling, Loki's Vanish and Aimed Strike deal 100% from Vanish, and 100% x 1.2 from Backstab, for a total of 220% scaling.

I think he can be considered an assassin, or at the very least, he has good chase and kill potential with strong burst damage...like an assassin.

...what are we doing? Why has this dissolved into an argument about the specifics of what an Assassin is? Is Vamana done yet?

You have a point there. But at the same time, there are a lot of bruisers like Hercules with high burst, good chase potential and kill potential, but Herc isn't really an assassin, right?

I'm getting confused.

IMO vamana's problem is from his passive which converts 20% of his physical protections into physical power becz ankh of golum also does tha same thing that wy its usually build on tyr. I am fine with this unless it is not limited to physical protection but on both magical as well as physical protection. His magicsl protections must slso be part of passive may be benefitting attack speeds, power, etc
