Made this thread to discuss the new gods and their reworks.

Personally, I think Arachne is going to suck. Odin will suck slightly less until people understand how to build/counter him. Noodle is noodle.

Haven't played yet, patch is downloading as I speak.

Personally I think Arachne will be pretty good, at least in the hands of people who play her.

Odin will be good, but the nerf to Gungnir's Might hurts him a bit, and his main clear leaves him without initiation or escape or a shield. I think people are gonna have to be smart when it comes to him.

Just tried new Arachne in an Arena match. Holy **** balls, she is SO ****ING BAD.

She has not a single way to close the gap on a target, and to CC then, you need to hit them with three basics. She is completely dependent on landing her 3 for the slow...a 25% slow. A ****ing 25% slow is her best CC for ganking.

Her ultimate is also really weak. It's a utility gap closer ultimate that does good damage, but it's your only gap closer AND your escape button, and the fact that its cooldown is seven years makes it completely worthless. It's literally a Wukong/Thanatos ult minues the things that made them any good.

Her teamfight capabilities are minimal. Outside of her gap closer/escape ultimate, all of her damage is single target AND over time. She can't even clear up well since she's so ****ing slow. She can delete people pretty fast, but a lot of assassins can do that without her problems. She has only single target CC. And unlike Loki, she's not fast or stealthy or has a teleport.

She's garbage.

Just tried her in Conquest. Even worse than I thought.

Zero. Gap. Closers. Outside of her ultimate, which has a 90 second cooldown and also happens to be an escape. The only gankign CC she has is her ****ty 25% slow...which is nothing, since they just pop their escapes, or even just run without, because as I mentioned, SHE HAS ZERO ****ING GAP CLOSERS.

Her waveclear is trash, even worse than the old Arachne, since her Broodlings meant a damn.

Jungle Control: Worse. Webs are a gimmick that don't replace Spiderlings that slowed and dealt damage.

Sustain: Worse. Healing is way less, and you can't temporarily make yourself immune to damage, either. The ****ing swing chain also sucks *** and slows your clear.

Ganking: WAY worse, without the pull of death, and with no silence. She is literally the worst ganking in the game, including Old Wa.

Burst Damage: Better. Still not good. She's definitely no Loki.

Sustained Damage: Worst. With no poison, and no broodlings, and no silence heal, this has gotten way worse.

Teamfight Control: None. She's a cleanup assassin that can't chase, can't deal enough damage, and is slow as ****, on top of being forced to be in autoattack range to deal damage.

Late Game: Terrible, with no impact in teamfights at all.

Early Game: Terrible, with no way to gank.

Overall: GARBAGE.

Or you could just be bad with her?

I've been playing for a bit and ran into Arachne players who did really good with her, going about 10-4 and such.

Plus Actives can cover bad points, such as Blink or Sprint for initiation/escape.

And her ganks are good if you can get the stun on her 2 off.

Jungle Ymir has 0 gap closers and it's ****ing strong. Gotta admit his CC does the trick. But some active and Fatalis should do the trick for Arachne.

Btw, maybe you did bad because you can't play her?
Also, you built dev gloves in arena when there is a kukulkan on your team....

Ymir can blink into a near instant, wide AoE stun. Arachne has to hit three basic attacks on a single target. Plus, sprint completely counters Arachne. Actives are useful, but not THAT useful.

I have not seen a single one do well yet. I doubt anyone can, unless they get fed by idiots.
