You guys act as though the enemy team doesn't have the ability to surrender themselves and it's all on you and your team's shoulders. If they want to surrender, then let them. If they want to play on, let them. Why should my team take the loss?

EDIT: Would be a good exploit though...

"Oh, look ! We're up against Team Generosity ! Quick, Barry ! You DC at 4 minutes, they'll surrender, easy win ! ;D"

Honestly people like you are the reason I quit all other moba's for SMITE :)

I absolutely LOVE the smite community, most of it anyway.

I would probably also surrender if my team was willing or I would just powerhouse down the mid lane and end quick as possible.

Keep up the good work ;)
why does wukong look so much different now?

Sometimes you have to take a punch for the other team.
Its a respect surrender, The guy who left will get deserter.

If the enemy team decides to not surrender a 4v5/3v5 game that is their decision and it might be because they are having fun with it. So why should you surrender and ending a game that they want to play?

I've had tons of fun in 4v5/3v5 games before, being on the lower end, of course.

And all this talk of respect is fine and all, but you don't need to surrender to show respect to the other team. Hell, you should respect everyone you play with and against, with some exceptions of course. After every match, I always say gg wp, and sometimes compliment individuals on excellent performances/plays. Just because some of us here would rather not surrender in this situation, doesn't mean we are being disrespectful or are not showing respect. Most of the time, people apologize for the dropped member in the post-game lobby, say gg or gg wp or something like that. That's respect there already.

You can show respect after the match by simply saying 'Sorry for the DC. GG."

I remember an old game I played in Domination as Apollo. I was obviously with a party of 4, and they were douches. The two other guys who were supposed to help me with left tower left for middle with their teammates right as I went into the tower range for the first wave, and laughed when I died. When I went with them, they told me to go defend left, and laughed as I died again, after they left me to die again. Then they were saying that they wouldn't play with someone as bad as me, and DC'd. ALL of them. 5 minutes into the game, it was a 5v1. I did put up a fight - once I actually got all three towers, and kept up with them in gold - but they still won with a 50 ticket lead. Afterwards, the other team was thanking me for staying in and fighting, instead of leaving also. One even said that he wished all Smite players were like me. Perfect example of Good guy doods and inexplicable douches in one example, right there. It's still one of my favorite games.

What I'm talking about is that it is just a game, 1 more loss in favour of the suffering team won't kill you. I'v been in 3 v 5 situations and then its too early too surrender or I have an afk that won't F6

This is the only downside to smite, there is no all chat system, no way to talk to the enemies, which now that I think of it is good but in some cases it might be nice to have.

But anyway, imagine having a poor game with leavers and afk's and then the enemy surrenders, I would be pretty happy :)

Then I'll use your logic and reverse it... One loss for the enemy team won't hurt them either, it was likely they're going to lose anyway so why should they get a free win?

IMO is is disrespectful to F6 when someone is playing 4v5 just to give them the win. Like it is basically saying "hah! you guys can't beat us 4v5 so here is a win because we do not want to win".

It is the same thing that DM said if someone DCs or is AFK in lane, not killing him is saying "Hey, I'm better than you so I do not need help from a DC/AFK to win my game" :P

And about the part where the DC gets deserter, he does that if you win as well as if you F6..

I hope you do not F6 withing like 2 min of a DC btw. Because my motherboard is on the fritz and sometimes I have to just restart my PC and relaunch Smite, which can take 1-2 minutes. So if I DCd and you surrender before I could reconnect I would be ****ing pissed.

A respect surrender would be if your team was down by like 1-30 and then they got a DC that made your team able to get back into the game. If it is a even game just end it asap.

I disagree. I mean, I understand killing someone who is disconnected - "Hey, that's too bad." But, taking being spared as an insult seems pretty silly. If someone disconnects and I spare them (unlikely unless it's a joust, muwhaha) just so that I don't gain an unfair advantage, that doesn't mean that I'm asserting I'm better. It just means that I'd like a fun, even game.
