Smite is not an easy game to just pick up. This isn't like Call of Duty, with intuitive controls and gameplay design. There are a lot of seemingly minor details that noobs screw up. I know, because I joined on my brother's account and had to start at level 30.

My point is, I think SMITEfire can greatly benefit with the introduction of general guides. No longer will they be shoved in a deep dark corner where no one goes.

Possible Guides:

-Warding Locations and Tutorials
-Generic Conquest Guide
-Noob's Guide to Not Being a Noob
-Team Composition Guide
-Gamer Etiquette Guide
-And a lot more.

Basically, we should either expand the homepage to include generic guides, thus increasing awareness and even motivating others to make their own generic guides, or we should include generic guides as an easier-to-search option.

Just looking at the site, it is difficult to even know if general guides exist. On LoLfire, on the other hand, has a easy-to-find general strategy section in their "guides" tab.

Aye?

I really like this idea, general guides are quite needed actually.

General guides are extremely needed. I'm someone who hates being bad at games, so I'll read all I can before playing and learning the hard way... and there's just very little (especially easily accessible,) to help with simple stuff that's second nature after you've played for a while. I remember landing on a LoL guide off Google at one point because it was the only place that told me what a carry was (the lack of general stuff is really brutal if you're new to MOBAs.)

The god guides are really helpful with showing good builds and the better ones even handle some gameplay stuff... which is all nice until you face your first good jungler and die immediately because you just keep killing minions and walking forward because you've done it every game up until level 15. Knowing a good build doesn't really help when you surrender at 10 minutes with just boots. Stuff like where to go at the start of a match or how to fight at levels 1-4, when to leave your lane. There's very little on any of this, it's all experience driven.

Watching Youtube videos is a good way to learn how to play, but I definitely wouldn't consider that easily accessible, and it's not like a lot cover super basic stuff and useful meta things that are second nature to anyone at level 30.

Sounds like a good idea, although these types of guides are most likely going to be high rated and easy to find. But if it is something that the editors of the site thinks is a good idea make it happen :D

Definitely like the idea. These kinds of games aren't the easiest to get learn, so some info can pass over peoples' heads pretty easy when trying to learn.
