Answer to the topic: don't let the other team snowball. Play better and quit whining.

You don't always have a choice considering you're 1 of 5 players on the team. Even if you're laning with a partner and destroying, your other 3 teamates can feed so bad you still can't pick up the slack.

Really...that's just how Mobas are...they're team games where your team can REALLY screw it up for you.

I suppose. I guess the pairing system needs to be fixed with people who belong at your skill level.

The only thing I know is. Most games, I've usually come back from all the snowballs. So I haven't really see any bad snowballing yet.

One side has to lose, everyone has their bad games, everyone has those games where they play outside of their skill level and make nearly no mistakes. Sometimes you go to do something right and you're just in the wrong place at the wrong time, etc. There's just so many variables and one side has to give. I understand this thread is more about feeding, but take a jungler for instance, lets say he just kills the 4 other people without dying(meaning it's not continuous mistakes by a few players but only 1 by most of them, or he's just good at being in the right place at the right time), he now has a huge kill gold bonus ontop of the amount he's getting from jungling. At this point, doing anything productive will run the risk of you getting killed due to how powerful he is.

Snowballing is something that will happen regardless, I haven't watched many pro tournaments but I would imagine it even happens at that level.

More snowbally than LoL or DotA? You're joking.

You do realize that in DotA you LOSE gold and experience for dying? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you do lose stuff for dying in DotA anyways.

You only lose gold.

You can look at this two ways. Losing gold allows the winning team to snowball harder. However, losing gold will also allow a losing team to come back easier, as the enemy will lose gold.

However, you have to realise that gold loss in DotA is a lot more complicated than what it may seem like.

Gold in DotA is split into two different types, reliable gold and unreliable gold. Reliable gold can never be lost unless you purchase an item with it, and is gained from Hero kills and also towers I believe. Unreliable gold is the gold that can be lost on death, and is gained passively and through creep kills.

When buying items, unreliable gold is always used up first.

How this applies to snowballing is definitely complicated.

For a team that is losing and planning on making a comeback, they can start to play incredibly safe and capitalise on enemy mistakes. Since they are playing incredibly safe, the enemy will have to resort to farming unreliable gold, which will then be lost after they are killed, and therefore not being able to complete an item after losing a substantial amount of their gold. On top of this, the team aiming for the comeback is earning reliable gold, meaning that they will always have a source of gold no matter how much they die.

If an enemy in DotA is repeatedly killing the same hero over and over, the person dying will never run out of gold, as he starts off with reliable gold.

It was to simply say that it's more than just losing a set amount of gold. The balancing that has taken place to make this mechanic work is pretty impressive.

Lets just say since I am known as the rage master snowballing must not be to bad if you don't hear my raging about it? tell me that ain't proof :D
But seriously

Every multiplier team game YOU LOSE if you do bad, everyone wants to fix a problem which has no solution.

You can't fix having a bad team the end.

I never had a problem with snowballing in the MONTHS of playing smite and being on this forum and I have got ****ped on before and still never thought snowballing is bad.

Wow you get a bit of gold for killing someone, thats the point, unless you want matches to take even longer and be 2hrs until everyone gets full items.

Someone has to win, don't blame it on snowballing even though its a good reason, the real reason is either everyone did bad or you have a bad team

In that case thats how games work, you get bad teams = no solution to that problem.

This isnt trying to be an ******* this is being as truthful as possible.

You can be truthful and make your point without being an *******, keep the swearing and insults in check for one. Saying it is one thing, going through the trouble to type it out is quite another. (Man i am starting to sound like a stern schoolmarm :\)

Anywho, to everyone here, I AM NOT SAYING SNOWBALLING IS BAD! Its obviously important to MOBAs. Its in league, its probably in DotA, and it will be a mechanic in every moba ever made, ever. Its just particularly hard to come back from in this game, and needs a bit of balancing IMO. I repeat, In My OPINION!

That said i just finished a game where i went from 1/6 to 20/8. Case in point. ;) (go Cupid)

I am pretty sure this is why no one picks tank or support...
