So I have been playing for awhile, and I do like this game. The only real complaint i have that i hope will be sorted out before beta ends, is how ridiculous snowballing is. It is possible for someone to get 2 kills and then its like the lane opponent cannot do anything except hug his turret and pray to his jungler cuz he is suddenly 4 levels behind. I understand snowballing is part of the game, just seems a bit too easy right now.

P.S. do you get a shutdown or multi-kill bonus?

Anyway, just my 2 cents.

Snowballing is sort of part of the game yea, but I hear you.

And the power creep is really staring to annoy me. Seeing "9999 damage" on Thana's ult really annoyed me.

****ting on people is the whole point of gold and items.

This ain't call of duty, when you get kills you get rewarded.

Actually pray its not like call of duty other wise you'll have hebo flying a AC130

Signal for Instant Kill. 9999 damage is just what it says on the damage recap. 9999 damage is obviously an instant kill because the max health is 5K anyways.

ICEN, there's a difference though. This game is even worse than the snowballing in LoL, HoN, or DOTA, which are all in the same genre. The effect of items in this game, because they all gain tier 3 bonuses compared to other games that have items that synthesize together, means that a single item is already a ridiculous advantage over someone. This game snowballs out of control - there is no way to come back, no matter how well you play, unless they actively decide to lose through throwing the game. This also means if you're counterpicked, you are SCREWED. DONE. They can, and will, get ahead, because if you play normal you die, if you play passive you get pushed and lose.

Basically, this game is TOO snowbally. You SHOULD be rewarded for doing well, but it should be linear, not exponential.

Raven id like to call bs on not being able to comeback.

There are a LOT of ways to get back in the game.

First of look at team comps. See who or what will be the main damage and look how many magic/pys gods they have. Counter build. Shuts them down.

Don't surrender to fast. If got a nickle for every time i won a match just by not surredering against the snowballiest teams. I could buy a choclate bar.

And now for the one you probebly think can't happen.
Coming back from a disadvantage in your lane.

A few weeks a go i was playing hebo in mid against zues. Things were going pretty decent when suddenly my internet crashes. Out for 7 minutes. I come back and he killed me in my afk stat which i find wrong to do if it happens to someone randomly.

He got a few more kills and my tower. He was level 16 and i 9. We won and me and the jungler carries. How did i come back? Farmfarmfarmfarm. I focused on wave clearing and taking the small furies. Zeus roamed to much and i got his tower. 10 minutes after i came back with a huge disadvantge i was the same level as zeus who ended up going like 16-15-8 yeah i killed him a lot and he didn't kill anyone after i came back. Zeus started with a lot of levels ahead on me and 1,5 more items and i came back.

That has happens a lot to me. Well usually the enemy show balled a lot less but still more then enough to bescary and shut me down. I still came back.

So if anyone tells me that you can't come back from a snowballer or a shutdown then i will tell you Are wrong.
never forget dawngate and never forgive EA. Freia will hunt them for eternity.

All4 we're obviously not talking about the entire game, and yes it is IMPOSSIBLE to comeback , in the laning phase, which is clearly what's being talked about here. When someone snowballs, you cannot catch up until the late game, by which point they've asserted their dominance in most cases.

You can't come back as a person, in a lane, against a snowballer. You can win the game, but if you were to have stayed in lane, you'd have lost every trade and fight, hence, they 'snowballed' against you.

And DC is a completely different story, but it was interesting nonetheless.

More snowbally than LoL or DotA? You're joking.

You do realize that in DotA you LOSE gold and experience for dying? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you do lose stuff for dying in DotA anyways.

As for the comparison with LoL, Tier 3 items in SMITE aren't exactly much different from advanced items in LoL. A Deathbringer, for example, is pretty much the equivalent of an Infinity Edge, in that it doesn't really show it's true power until you've actually assembled it completely. Also bear in mind that gold gain works differently between the two games; you MUST last-hit in LoL for minion gold, whereas it's just a bonus in SMITE. Player Kills also reward more gold too in LoL if I'm not mistaken. And lastly, LoL has Flash+Ignite right from the start of the game, which usually is the cause for early game kills that lead to snowballs. Overall, LoL is a more by-the-numbers game compared to SMITE which has more of a skill variable, so a bit of feed in LoL goes a much longer way compared to SMITE.
Waiting on a good new MOBA, please.

********. Hard, true. Impossible? Give me a break.

I have come back from early deaths and won my lane more than once, as almost all the gods I've played in lane regularly. It's not the easiest thing to do, but if it was impossible then you'd probably almost never seen anyone win a game after being behind the first few minutes.

Big way to come back: get your lane ganked and kill the enemy. Even if you fail to get the kill you can often force the enemy out of lane and buy yourself some precious time to farm up while they get back or take 200 gold out of their lead just to get back more quickly. Failing that, farm as well as you can. If your enemy is ahead they will likely try to go gank or otherwise leave a little sooner than you will. Warn your team and farm the lane. If their rotation doesn't end up giving them much of anything you can go a long way towards negating their lead while they're gone.

Or you can kill them. I have played games as Loki, Poseidon, Anubis, He Bo and others where I got behind early, got back to farming as quickly as I could, poked when possible and then killed them when I got the chance. Obviously not something you can do every game, but hey. It's possible and I've done it.

Basically, unless the enemy just outplays you at every turn you can make a comeback before the roaming phase truly kicks off unless you get behind by something big like 5-0.
