What makes a toxic player toxic?

The simple answer, is people who breach terms of service.

What I mean by that, is people who are overall negative in their attitudes. This involves raging, griefing, being hostile, bad-mouthing, boasting (both in pre and post game chat), etc.

I suppose the easy way to say it, is someone who makes the game unenjoyable for others.

I don't know, people are trying to figure out what defines one? And I was being sarcastic, but I'm not so sure if you got that or to, I can't tell in your reply. Damn Internet and its inability to translate sarcasm well.

In my own opinion, toxic players are those who do not recognize the difference between criticism and personal attacks. To them, they are one and the same. Any criticism towards them or their behavior is taken personally, while their own verbal abuse is merely unorthodox criticism.

One can be overly hostile and insulting without being toxic. I met a player who kept insulting us whenever we made a mistake. This same player actually listened when we told him what he was doing wrong. You can be an annoying insulting teammate while still being a good team player, and some of his...advice was fundamentally sound.

well technically pvp is that, the vast majority of players in any game hate to lose because it kinda makes them feel they are unskilled or bad whenever is true or not

so i would say anyone who isnt capable of controlling his rage and emotions and starts blaming to defend himself, attack others, insult etc. Or intentional feeding
