The economy is pretty much the same. If you miss a last hit in League of Legends, you won't get anything from it unless you have support items/masteries (and only maximum of 5 gold if an allied champion kills it). It's just that dying makes you lose coins in DotA which sets some challenge.

jup and that it's easier to die in dota then in LoL for most heroes as in LoL you do have more heroes that have a movement skill (but not all like smite has)

also don't forget that the passive gold gain in dota is lower (0.66g/s) then in LoL (1.9g/s) and with items costing more in dota then in LoL getting last hits is more important.

I did think it had a same way as smite but it does seem slightly different the only thing different is the ally gold bonus.

but let's go more ontopic again XD

I'm not sure what the hell Dacoqrs is saying about Riot,

I wasn't very clear, sorry. I meant that for League and Dota, League's "big hyped up thing" is a skin event, while Dota's "big hyped up thing" is redoing their whole engine. Idk. Whether or not you agree with me is your choice of course.

As for Smite, yes, Hirez is a little timid about their changes. They don't want to change too much at once, for risk of "overbalancing" (heh) somebody. It shows that they know what the issues are, but the tangible effects of these micro-changes are very small.
Thanks to Ferrum for making the sig pic! He's beast af people.

About the game mode thing, Domination was by far the most original one for me at least in SMITE, i can't belive they removed it.

Yeah they have a nice dominion map. still the most classic mode is still the arena mode as dominion is something LoL also has. (still Dota now has a arena mode too but instead of 5v5 it's FFA)

...what?

"Big hyped up thing" is extremely vague. Just what on earth constitutes a "big hyped up thing?"

Because right now, the thing LoL players are most hyped about isn't a skin sale. It's a gameplay rework on Gangplank. And an upcoming HUD update. I don't know where you got your info where a skin sale is apparently on the same level as an engine update for LoL players, but you're clearly severely misinformed.

And how is that comparable at all? An engine update is an enormous project you take at least an year to develop and then announce as "event of the year." A skin sale happens, like, once a month. Saying that LoL treats a skin sale like a "big hyped up thing" is incredibly insulting.

Something more like a "big hyped up thing" would be Heroes of the Storm's Eternal Conflict, which is an ongoing project with a new map, at least three new heroes, and lots of balance stuff, apparently.

well if we go and compare the skin event (it's not a sale it's an event. pool party is some sort of event) to dota it best to compare it to the compendium/TI5 (which is always the biggest event of the year as the arcana vote or the immortal items aren't nothing as are some other things like a map theme or weather effects)

the engine update is only a bit of a minor thing to main dota itself (some polishment and maybe it runs smoother) the biggest thing it brings is the community made/custom game modes (I don't know if they will release Pit lord too but they are working on him I believe.

Pool Party is a skin event. There are a couple of them an year. Sure, they're fairly hyped, but not to the extent of an engine update or a gameplay update or a new map.

Oh, and did I mention that there's going to be a new game mode?

Daooqrs's insulting, and blatantly ignorant generalizations get annoying.
