I just wondered. Why build lifesteal when you could go for items like or ?

I build lifesteal as last item on hunter because after team fights when you are low health having lifesteal could mean the difference between going to base and getting another tower/pheonix. Even though i dont always build lifesteal because there are alot of other good items.

Those gods who rely more on their basic attacks definitely do good with lifesteal in a tough battle.

Lifesteal is good for when you want to sustain yourself in a 1v1. Especially if your an assassin up against an ADC when your surprise attack fails.

I usually build a little of both. I've started to forgo a bit lately though, because I feel that statistically (for example, and various other items) provide more benefit than the flat 75 physical power. For instance, my typical hunter build is , Devourer's Gloves, or (depending on my team/god), or (depending on different factors again), , and .

I feel like there's a point when Devourer's Gloves outweighs 's pure damage advantage when you already have a lot of penetration and crit. When you get down to it, there's only a 15 phys power difference, and unless you just absolutely have to have that 8% movement speed for some reason, it doesn't make a whole lot of difference overall either. If you're playing someone like , the penetration is really all you need and stacking power isn't that necessary. It might be different for others, though.

Depends on what type of god you are playing. On a adc or a hyper carry like I would say that lifesteal is very important because it makes you able to keep dealing damage even if you take some damage yourself.

On an assassin like lifesteal is a wast though.

On a god like you can chose, either play him like an 100-0 assassin like loki and build cdr and pen. Or play like a hyper carry like and take advantage of the swing chain (2x damage crits are mean), then you have to build some lifesteal if you do not you are just going to get blown up in 2 sec :P

In my point of view, Lifesteal is made to counter tanky enemies, as well as Penetration. It allows you to stand longer in combat, if you fight. But there are certain restrictions.

An example, needs Lifesteal to make use of his passive, imo one of the best passives of the game. But does not need it, because he is made to 1-hit kill people.

It's really situational. I don't like Lifesteal IN GENERAL, I prefer protections. But y'know, sometimes it's needed.

I don't really build for lifesteal... However, I like my 60 physical power from devourer's gloves. So I end up with a decent lifesteal. I also like to have one other lifesteal item, typically , or . Simply because, when I and hit a crit with asi+devo gloves and full build. I can heal up to 450's. xD

I've never built lifesteal, as it lowers the damage potential I can have.

Besides, as Ah Muzen Cab, you don't really need lifesteal as hives and potions should keep you covered. If you tend to find yourself out of your hive radius very often, then lifesteal might be useful.

Bloodforge and Devos gives a ton of damage thoug, with only HS and Transcendence giving more pure physical power. Ofc you need pen and stuff as well. But building either Devos or Bloodforge does not hurt your damage much. All it does is help you to be able to stay in a fight longer and by doing so, your overall damage output will go up.
