Raventhor: I will try to avoid an argument here, but I will state some points.

1. Odin is leading his troops to...something. It can be anything, not necessarily another pantheon.

2. The video is insanely incoherent. You have no idea who the speaker is, the motives of the gods (excluding some of the greek pantheon) are unclear (WTF is Cupid doing in the sky?), it makes no reference toward the rather significant concern of Loki and Fenrir getting loose, etc etc.

3. Xbalanque seems to be directing sacrifices. The Mayans sacrificed humans for a variety of reasons. We don't know his motives, either.

4. Benevolence still doesn't explain why gods like He Bo are fighting.

5. Many of the gods' lore make direct references to the nearby end of the world. We see none of this in the video.

Odin's leading his troops was at the exact point in time of when they were mentioning gods defending humanity.

In any case, it just takes some deciphering, in a 1:50(?) second video, they can't go insanely in depth, but making relatively simple deductions yields the answer.

As for the end of the world, it's obviously from the, I don't know, multiple pantheons of demigods fighting. Not exactly a peaceful situation.

Must I always be the one to break up arguments?

This started as an idea page. Let it be an idea page. People post their ideas. That's it. They could agree and build off of other people's contributions, but they can't blatantly make fun of or say they disagree with an idea they don't like. Subzero, let them do their thing, and only interject when it becomes another big argument. Please, people. Do this for yourselves.

I wasn't arguing, I was conversing...I barely ever argue on threads, I simply post my point of view :(

Sorry if I came off as rude!

I would like to point out that a bunch of demigods fighting isn't uncommon in pretty much all mythology. It doesn't necessarily mean the Apocalypse.

And allow me to summarize the video.
0:00-0:15: Okay, gods want faith, aka worshippers.
0:16-0:23: WTF? To "make their presence felt by all creatures, the demigods descended to the human realm?" WTF? Not gods? When did the gods have offspring with mortals? Where did this come from?
0:24-0:38: Okay, after a bunch of disasters people are losing faith. Okay. And apparently, the entire Greek pantheon is okay with subjugating humanity.
0:39-0:53: WTF? WTF? So the demigods are confirmed to NOT be the gods. And to restore their loyalty, they send them out to fight...WTF.
0:54-1:03: Okay, someone monologues while we see He Bo teaching, Ao raging, and Isis...destroying a city a la Godzilla? WTF? WTF? Oh, and the transitions make me want to stab my eyes out with a fork.
1:04-1:10: WTF? Now the speaker, who was talking to himself, is now addressing some "petty warriors," and not the military rank. And he/she says "let the light of Aegis shine upon your armor." WTF? What the hell is happening here?
1:11-1:14: Cupid is shooting a bunch of random people. WTF? What happened to the battle?
1:15-1:20: And now Ares is trying to destroy Tokyo. And "the flames of war have ignited."
1:21-1:24: Odin is leading an army. Great. And Raventhor, FYI, it says NOTHING about defending humanity here, or anywhere on the video!
1:25-1:30: And Xbalanque is sacrificing some d00dz. Pwn3d.
1:31-1:40: WTF? Why is Anubis trapped in stone? WTF is happening? EXPLAIN MOVIE EXPLAIN! WTF?
1:41-END: WTF? JAPANESE? What the hell is going on???

As you can see, either Raventhor is a troll, sent the wrong video link, or something. And yes, videos can explain things in less than a minute, not this convoluted garbage. Either this is from some unholy fanfic, or the scriptwriter for it was sniffing glue before producing. Oh, and don't forget that this isn't a contest. SMITE could make their vids as long as they want, and for some reason, apparently they thought that was a sufficient explanation, for, you know, the end of the world and the war of the gods.

Calm down. No need to go ad hominem here.

That said, I do agree the video doesn't really show much. I was pretty disappointed when I first saw it. All it really says is that some of the gods have decided that humanity must be crushed/subjugated, and some other gods are apparently fighting them. It gives a very thin yet confusing explanation for what's going on, and one pretty much has to guess the details. Seriously, LoL has a better thought out storyline than this.

As far as I can see, all we can tell with some certainty is that Zeus is a member of or the leader of the "anti-human" faction while Odin is likely in charge of the gods fighting Zeus's group. Other than that nothing is even remotely certain.

Riiiight a troll. Yeah look at my posts around the website. I'm one of the highest contributing members to this site. This is not the wrong video link, it is the korean (or chinese, not certain) release video to explain the game. That's what that's from. Go check the official Smite facebook page for the video, even, or the official smite youtube channel (you know, the one who posted that video).

If you're going to try to be a community member, don't lash out at people.

Personally, according to the lore behind some of the gods when you read it in-game, some mysterious apocalyptic force is coming. This same force is stirring the gods awake, some to answer its call, others to prepare to fight it.

Bakasura, for example, was slain. And somehow it came back to life? It has to be the work of this mysterious entity. Loki and Fenrir breaking free? The mysterious entity must have busted them loose. Ra and Zeus's anger is boiling for no reason? They must sense the entity and it must have them spooked.

Odin and his pantheon (save for Ymir), however, I'm not sure of. Is he preparing to fight this apocalyptic force, or simply to prepare for Loki and Fenrir? Or is he preparing for both?
