Only cowards buy Purification Beads as first relic, let the imagination fly with Blink Rune and be creative on your ganks!
Manikin Scepter must be replaced. Don't try to upgrade it, anything is better on Ao Kuang hands.
If prefered, you can replace the Demonic Grip for Hastened Ring but the itens will be situational.
Tap each threat level to view Ao Kuang’s threats
After building this starting items you should aim to build the standard jungler build and upgrade your starter to Death's Embrace.
Another way to build your starter is over the Vampiric Shroud but it gives you less mana since you need to cast a skill that costs mana LMAO.
My name is Matheusfirmi and i play smite on PC. I'm a Brazilian guy who likes to play Moba, FPS and RPG games. This is my most (and probably only one) rated in-depth guide here on SMITEFire. My Smite IGN is "ManoSabao", feel free to add me there. |

If you want Poly on Ao you'd get it mid to late, not rush it.
Here is the math behind it - first of all Typhon's Fang actually gives 80 power instead of the 70 it says (probably a bug), then when you build Bancroft's Talon and Ring of Hecate you have 27% lifesteal already + 15% from Typhon's Fang it adds up to 42% which means 84 power from Typhon's Fang's passive for a total of 80 + 84 = 164 power, when you add the passives from Bancroft's Talon and Ring of Hecate you cap the lifesteal at 65 recieving 130 power from Typhon's Fang's passive for a total of 80 + 130 = 210 power that's 50 more than Rod of Tahuti.
You are sitting at 42% lifesteal without passives, effectively 42*1.4 = 59% (40% more healing from lifesteal because of Typhon's Fang's passive) compared to 27% lifesteal without passives when building Rod of Tahuti
And reaching the cap of 65 at 5 Ring of Hecate stacks and only 3 Bancroft's Talon stacks (64 with only 2 Bancroft's Talon stacks) 65*1.4 means effectively 91% lifesteal and let's not forget the difference 10% penetration makes.
I used to build Polynomicon with Bancroft's Talon so Kriega told me that Ao can be countered with 2 antiheal items.
Rod of Tahuti gives +160 to power spike and +30MP5, it's passive just complements the additional damage of you already have. If u'r looking for % pen, you should look for Soul Reaver for power or even Void Stone for defense + damage + life.
If you haven't got the two other lifesteal items then Rod of Tahuti is much better. Or if you are planning to replace your lifesteal items with sth else.
Triple lifesteal? I guess no one in your games builds antiheal.
>"Typhon's Fang is never mentioned throughout each s6 guide."
It's expensive. Mainly only Anubis and Freya justify picking it up.
>"Is it useless compared to other items like Chronos/Tahuti?"
Chronos' isn't even a worthwhile pickup on Ao. If you want a little cdr get spear of deso which also has pen.
Defending you from our lovely brazilians talking about you in Portuguese. If They're gonna talk about you, they should do it in english so you dont have to go through google translator.
"AIN NUM PODI FALAR MAU DUS OUTROS IN OUTRA LINGUA"
(Não levem a sério hein :v )
I hear you loud and clear brother.

Something doesen't add up...
Pros
Cons
Now i will ask again. Why don't build Polynomicon if it's an excellent item for 4th item? Because u prefer building Spear of the Magus which is one hundred times better on gods which has skills with tic?
"It's design is beautiful" - Thats not a pro.
"Is a good item on every mage that uses Skill + Auto" - You mean Auto-attack cancelling? because thats not exactly the case. It usually is best on gods that can actually CC the target in some way to setup the poly proc, like Chronos, Kukulkan, Scylla etc... It also depends on how long the post-fire time of the ability animation is, if it's long then it's not usually worth it on that particular mage.
"It's a SCALING item" - thats both a pro and a con, gets more effective the more power you have.
"Doesn't proc on structures" - Obviously, no ability works on structures, all you have to do is randomly use an ability (doesen't need to hit a target) and you can get the bonus damage to proc on stuctures on your next basic attack.
And no, i'm not talking about AA cancel, i'm talking about use an skill after the AA, i usually take close range, use my 2, AA, my 3, AA, it means Skill + AA.
Let's think, if i'm playing Ao Kuang, it means i have to stay on close range to AA him, it means it's a good item to build, i'll use one of my skills and AA the target.
Yeah, scaling is both pro and con, but i was lazy to tape "It's a SCALING item, it gives more damage as longer you build more itens but it might be slower than quick" now i tapped LOL
"Every 20 seconds, Ao Kuang gets a stack of Dragon's King Sword. As long as he has a stack, his next non-ultimate ability that deals damage to an enemy god will consume a stack to have its cooldown reduced by 2s and heals Ao Kuang for 5% of his Maximum Health. Successfully executing an Enemy god with King of the Eastern Seas fully charges Dragon's King Sword."
(Prism, Bernardo, Myst, Matheus, Vini)
Relax. It's a joke. :P
They deserve equal rights...
...
...
...
And equal lefts.
We are not trying, we are taking over SF!!!!
I've never got interested to play with him buutt, I'd build poly only in a full burst build (without any attack speed) and I usually build attack speed so I never build poly.
And plus, you can call me only "myst" to make things easier
Bancroft's Talon > Shoes of the Magi > Demonic Grip > Telkhines Ring > Spear of the Magus > Rod of Tahuti.
You really think im some kind of degenerate specimen huh?
Do not listen to Kriega1, he isn't thinking outside the box and is not like every time you just build the same things. Of course u have preferences like core itens, but every player have it's own way of playing and i know my skills. He sure does know his skills and of course u know yours too. Keep playing the way you feel better and you will always be happy playing like u do.
Also your AA-build is lacking. Giving Hastened priority over Telkhines is very bad. Fine, you can build both, but choosing Telkhines over Hastened? No no no no. In it's current state Telkhines is a core item on Ao Kuang. It's reasons like this why I make other builds so you don't mislead players into nonsensical item choices.
Also: http://smite.guru/match/ps/144363456 (Note that the Ao Kuang built Telkhines Ring with top damage in the lobby, and yes it may be PS4 but it was a high level ranked game as you can see).

To be honest though I think his duel builds are mostly fine but I would get rid of Dynasty Plate Helm in that first build (maybe). 2nd build should be Demonic Grip and then Void Stone in my opinion. And his duel boast was for the god leaderboards only, which for all I know he's been farming scrubs in gold/silver ranked duel.
I would assume you would have to be a pretty high tier duelist to get #1 spot.
Also, even if his builds aren't optimal, his mechanical skill could be through the roof.
And mechanical skill is not relevant to a Smitefire build.
Don't bother me anymore. Kisses, be good.
I don't think he was criticising your duel build.... (Though I would like to see proof and which platform).
Anyway, Bancrofts or Telkhines is a viable choice first. Though Telkhines will improve your rotation time and improve your early Dragon Call autos, while Bancrofts is more for sustain and possible but risky power spikes during an early fight.
Also lategame attack speed will be a bit less necessary for Dragon Call as you will be using the ranged part of it at that point anyway.
This photo is from PC of the second split of this year. I'm not playing Conquest and Duel due to FPS problems in my notebook, but i'll buy another machine capable of playing smite and will return to my glory.
About the build, Bancroft gives me survivability and this is the crucial point when playng with Ao Kuang. All the atk speed itens is just to buff the Dragon Call. This is not an experimental build, it's tested and proved. High quality gameplay ever. For the last item, u can choose between Pen or CD and i prefer CD to use more my third ability. I'm not saying u cannot put Telkhines Ring, but my preference is to choose Hastened Ring
