Notes My current build for Izi in ranked. The early boxing with Charged Bow helps with the pressure support gods like Yemoja, ***ba, Bacchus, and Jormungandr. The early Wind Demon to get some extra movement speed, attack speed, and some crit.

Overall, the build is high auto-attack damage with the focus on using Iz's dash to dive on or behind. Initiate with the 1 for increased attack speed and watch the crits land!

Overview

Izanami has been a staple ADC for me since her release in August 2016. With the damage on her auto attacks and an ultimate with silence, she has been an off pick from past meta's. In season 7, she comes in strong with a slight buff to her autos and with Hide of the Nemean Lion taking a big nerf, ADC's are causing more damage than ever. Izanami will remain one of my highest picked gods for season 7 and as the season goes on, I will update the builds and guides.

Pros and Cons

Pros

High Objective Damage
Easy Farming
Fast Auto Attack Speed
Cons

Minimal Escape
Self Peel
Hard to Land Ultimate

Skills

Passive: (Buff) Death Draws Nigh The closer she comes to death, the more powerful she becomes. Izanami gains 4% Physical Penetration for each 10% of her Health missing, up to 20%. Her basic attacks only trigger item effects on the first target hit per attack.

Penetration per Stack: 4%
Max Stacks: 5

The passive will open up some penetration naturally as you are engaged in a fight. With our The Executioner in the build we have up to 44% penetration, without any other items! That is an affect amount of penetration for Izanami and our items built.

Ability 1: (Buff) Sickle Storm For 6s, Izanami throws her sickles even faster and more furiously. While active she gains Attack Speed and her basic attacks no longer return to her, instead of applying bonus damage in addition to 100% for her basic attack power per hit. This damage applies to ALL TARGETS! Including Structures!

Attack Speed: 55/60/65/70/75%
Bonus Damage: 5/10/15/20/25

Cost: 60/65/70/75/80
Cooldown: 10s

This is one of her greatest abilities. I rush this ability to max for structural damage. ADC's main job is to delete structures and objectives. With Wind Demon and The Executioner in the build, we can ensure not tower is safe! If you want to engage on an enemy, ensure this is up! This will ensure high damage! Ensure not to use on the minion wave! Save it for after the clear for high poke damage.

Ability 2: (Line) Spectral Projection Izanami sends a demonic visage of herself to strike down her enemies, damaging and slowing all enemies in line. If enemy god is killed WHILE slowed, future uses of the slow will be increased by 6% per kill up to twice, for a maximum of 30%.

Range: 70
Damage: 65/115/165/215/265 (+90% of your Physical Power)
Slow: 18% +6% per kill (Max 30%)
Slow Duration: 3s

The ability is great for starting that 1v1. I tend to combo with the 1 active, then 2 and then back into the 1. If you can kill that enemy slowed, this ability becomes more dangerous in the future. This is one of the only unnatural things you need to be mindful of.

Ability 3: (Leap) Fade Away Izanami descends into the underworld, becoming stealthed and leaps away from her current position. Taking damage, firing an ability or basic attack breaks her stealth.

Range: 55
Duration: 3/3.5/4/4.5s

Cost: 70
Cooldown: 20/19/18/17/16s

This ability should be used for an escape ONLY! With items like Mystical Mail and Odysseu's Bow you will be revealed instantly. Shield of Thorns are becoming more relevant because of basic attack gods becoming more of the meta in season 7 will cause issues as well. Also, it's called a leap, but you are underground! Sorry Awilix!

Ability 4: (Ground Target Special) Dark Portal Izanami summons a portal which damages and silences all enemies in range.

Radius: 15
Damage: 220/320/420/520/620 (100% of your Physical Power)
Duration: 1.5/1.65/1.8/1.95/2.1s

Cost: 100
Cooldown: 80

I focus more on using this more for the silence than the damage. Yes, when an enemy is hiding under tower or we are chasing, I want the damage. I use this more in team fights. Izanami is a fairly squishy god so I don't want to be too pushed, but I do want to give the front liners some help.

Items

Ninja Tabi My preferred start with Izi. The boots provide a bit more power and attack speed. Izanami's auto attacks work great with this and with the early proc of Charged Bow, the damage and attack speed will feel really good.

Odysseu's Bow Finishing this starting item for only 900 will put some high attack speed and early boxing in the lane. Depending on the situation, clearing the wave with auto's and saving her 2 for the slow, can come crucial in 1 v 1's.

Wind Demon The beginning of the end for enemies. Opening the window for 20% crit and with each crit providing you with extra movement speed and attack speed by 20%.

The Executioner Your initial penetration item and additional attack speed. With the item online, I tend to focus on the front liners and keep them at bay. At this point, either the enemy ADC should have their's online, so fight smart.

Rage The broken crit item at the moment. Getting this evolved is like opening the flood gates for crits! At this point in the game, you should be grouping and wrecking havoc in team fights.

Deathbringer Rounding out the Crit items and reassuring you crit potential. With the auto's causing damage on the way back, this will open the chance for critical strikes x2.

Gameplay

I'm breaking this down into the 3 different parts of the game: Early Game, Mid Game and Late Game. I believe that Izanami will be around during season 7 so changes to items may differ her playstyle as the season progresses.

Early Game

This is when Izanami is at her strongest! Picking Spectral Projection first along with her auto attacks, Izanami makes the duo lane pressure one of the toughest to deal with. Starting with Charged Bow will keep you boxing in the lane against enemy gods and clearing enemy minion waves faster. Focus on using Spectral Projection on the enemy minion wave for the first 3 waves and build up that experience. As the minions fall, pressure enemies until the cooldown is ready on Spectral Projecction for the next wave. I try not to back until I have Ninja Tabi ready, but that is depending on enemy gank and enemy gods. Potions I will use for double heal. Mana is needed for the Spectral Projection, but once level 2 is reached, a point goes into Fade Away. I want the escape early because of early lane ganks. Avoid damage when needed. You more than likely will not have protections from the support so staying alive early is very important. Continue farming wave and purple buff until you have Ninja Tabi and Odysseu's Bow are online. If the Support does not rotate, no big deal. Season 7 we have XP camps close by. Invade when safe, steal enemy red if you and the support can, and ensure the Oracle camp is under your control. You force the jungler to path around that and makes warding much easier.

Mid Game

Midgame in Season 7, I believe, is now around 13-14 minutes. Rotations are a must at this point and depending on the laning phase, Izanami can go from a good place to a bad place...FAST! If you still have tower, you still have an out! Fade Away can be used to get into your purple camp for an escape if needed. 1v1 with Izanami is ideal, but warding and map awareness will be crucial for farming. Fade Away cooldown, based on my build, is 20 seconds! That's enough for AN out! Hopefully, by this point you are building towards The Executioner.

If your tower is down, farm back left XP camp and purple buff. Help Jungler by splitting red with Mid and continue to clean up Oracles. Vision will be needed to 1v1 with enemy ADC when your Support rotates. Communicate with Support when Gold Fury can be taken. You have Sickle Storm! Use it to your advantage on objectives. By this point, I no longer am picking up health potions. I'm grabbing wards to help with vision.

If you have the enemy tower down, ROTATE!!! Izanami DELETES structures so easy! Help Mid lane if needed. Pick up a wave so Mid can grab red or steal the enemy red. Reducing enemy jungler farm is another way to help your team. I'm not saying become a jungler, but putting your jungler ahead to help push / gank lanes will become crucial in the mid-game.

End Game

This is where Izanami gets Thanos snapped...End Game...get it!?!? LOL...She becomes almost obsolete. Team fights with Izanami are not her strong suit and this is where I think here ultimate matters. The silence can help against enemy front liners. I tend to aim at the supports to stop the CC's. Izanami is a back liner and should stay there! You can get away with acting like an Assasin and Fade Away on a single target and start your Sickle Storm. Attack when ready and meltdown the target. I suggest a back liner, but if there is a chance to take down a warrior or support, that will help the team 100%! Communicate when ready! You dive in and end up dead, Phoenix's are harder to take down. That is your job as ADC. PLAY SMART!

Conclusion

Izanami is one of the highest basic attack dealing gods in the game! Her wave clear is unmatched and Sickle Storm on objectives are her strong suits. I hope you enjoyed the guide and hopefully, this helps those looking for an edge. Smite on!

Personally, I don't think Asi is situational on Izanami. IT works too well with her passive that I would consider it core. I also don't agree with the O-bow rush start. I prefer rushing Trans in most cases as it helps you with mana early which is a big issue with Iza unless you know how to handle it.

Asi is situational if you're building devourers/bloodforge early.

Yeah, but I've been liking Trans on her recently so I'm putting more value on Asi currently. If you're going a Devo's build then yeah, no need for Asi unless you really need the extra lifesteal.

Why start rushing O-bow with Iza? It's not good nor even in bad clear ADCs, even less on her.

Yeah there's no merit behind doing that at all. Very bad start.

With Supports like Yemoja, Jormungandr, Bacchus being pressure heavy and warriors being used in the Support role like Horus and Hercules it helps with poke. That's the main reason. O-Bow will still proc on the way back, but that's if you miss on the way out. Not good either but atleast it can still proc. If there's no heavy rush in duo, I suggest the Transcendence. I think the tier 1 start does nothing for her. The tier 2 start to O-Bow does more.

No it doesen't help with poke at all. Not only because your attack speed will be quite low at this point due to low attack speed in your build early, and not much levels in your attack speed steroid, but as soon as the enemy support gets their first item with physical defense (even if it's just Thebes), your O-Bow proc damage is going to fall off a lot.

Uhm what? Morningstar gives 10 physical power, Hunter's Blessing gives extra 15 basic attack damage and will proc (once per auto) on the whole wave due to how Izanami's regular auto attacks work. Then when Hunter's Blessing is evolved you get another 15 basic attack damage added to the item AND 15% Attack speed.

What's even worse is you go straight into Ninja Tabi after rushing O-Bow so your auto attacks hit for peanuts early game. Then you go into Wind Demon despite the fact you know that it is clearly meta to go into Rage for your first crit item on a AA hunter. You are also running crit without lifesteal (which is not only bad for boxing the other hunter, but is asking to die to a solo laner building Hide of the Nemean Lion/ Shield of Thorns. Sorry but your build is just straight up bad.

You have 3 options for your main high power item early game, Devourers, Trans or Bloodforge. We will go with Transcendence since that seems to be your preference.

Starter: Hunter's Blessing, Morningstar, 2 Healing Potions, 2 Multi Potions.

Build: Ninja Tabi, Transcendence, Asi (for boxing/sustain, a must have if you're not running Devourers or Bloodforge), The Executioner, Rage, Deathbringer. Then buy Elixir of Speed and sell Ninja Tabi for a third crit item, either Poisoned Star (can apply damage debuff to multiple enemies when your steroid isn't active, and Izanami has a high attack speed stim which can lessen the need for Wind Demon) or Wind Demon (Mainly if you're against Attack speed reduction items on enemy team, so the extra attack speed helps).

And get rid of Heavenly Wings/ Belt of Frenzy. Those are relics a support or solo would pick up, not the Hunter ADC.
