Cheap and Effective build. Good for early/mid game damage which snowballs into late game stack damage and crazy sustain due to Soul-Eater and ShadowFists healing.
Edit: Update 6.8 has further nerfed hastened katana making it more expensive see builds 3,4, and 5 for options not including it.
A good alternative to the executioner if you want a bit of "bleed". Maybe replace hastened katana with something with more PP (such as Qin Sais) due to The Crushers passive.

For if you want the extra damage/pen for tanks and don't need katana's passive.
If you don't want to bother stacking and just want to be a life-steal machine.
A possible use for one of the new items to further increase how hard it is to kill Ravana during his ult. I came up with this on the spot and have not tested it so will update when I do. (Suggestions on this build specifically would be great)

Warrior tabi
Jotunn's wrath
Hydra's Lament (can be purchased later)
Void shield - if another physical ally
Ancile
Situational-beatstick/titans bane/crusher
I can look at this build more later.
Anyway, Trans + Jotunn's = mostly ability. Ninja + SE = hybrid. Katana + Exe = Basic attack.
So the big issue here continues to be split specs making abilities less than optimal, and perhaps not enough key AS items making basics less than optimal.
Hybrid builds can be fine, but usually you want items that aren't fully dedicated to one direction. If you're going for better basics, for example, you might try to drop Jotunn's, especially since Trans and SE give you 20% CDR, which is significant.
Anyway, Ravana's attack progression is 0.75 / 0.5 / 1.25x. Those first two attacks can get off somewhat quickly if you want to hit both in succession. He's also great at weaving basics and abilities, similar in some ways to Awilix or Susano. That means you can probably stack pretty well from basics. I'm okay with The Executioner, but as was mentioned months ago, Stone Cutting Sword can also be considered, as the flat and % protection reductions go together well, if you're facing a tanky comp.
At the same time, the first two attacks are going to hit a bit on the weaker side, due to being less than a value of 1. IF you can fit it in, Qin's Sais is the item that takes the best advantage of low progression values. I did suggest considering that in a previous comment, if wanting to commit more fully to basics (and also better against tanky comps). But Qin's is situational in this case.
Soggy stated that they use this build mostly to be able to rely on themselves. That's okay. Hastened Katana makes some sense. In a way, Hastened is the single most annoying item for an enemy to deal with, as you can't shake the person unless you have an escape handy or they get CCd. But sticking around means you're likely to take more damage. Some protections would REALLY help.
But personally, I think Soul Eater can be either completely replaced, or maybe just delayed. Trans is also potentially iffy, due to having to stack, and that's a semi-****py idea for Rav, since he doesn't have the best ranged clear, making him an easy target when he does clear. If I kept Trans, I'd consider Stone Cutting Sword in that 3rd spot, to at least get some decent pen function in there. Jotunn's is only 10 flat pen, and built 4th as first pen item is late for a glass cannon build.
And again, I might consider replacing Jotunn's. A single protection item would do wonders for his survivability, and allow him to less fearfully use his ult to initiate, for example.
Yes, boog, normally I'd go bruiser with some protections like Void/Ancile. Ancile is an iffy one perhaps, because unless he ults in, it's fairly likely he'll take magical damage as he approaches, making the passive less reliable. But in this specific case, you can make use of this type of build...but again, I think it's too squishy for my taste.
Proposed alternate builds keeping Soggy's general concept and preference for Katana:
Thus, Warrior Tabi EXCEPT for when building Qin's Sais (due to utilizing passive more). Build suggestions adjusted for this.
(Note this is a joke)
So why do you not like building him ability based?
Keep in mind, Rav has a good attack progression,as I discussed in another comment for this guide. A couple of quick basics in between ability use helps his Dps.
That said, my previous comment about hastened still stands and I think Qin's is a better Dps option if you're building hybrid.
@soggy, 20 power isn't a huge amount. But Rav has good scaling in all 4 of his abilities (all of which deal damage and will benefit from more power). Many gods only have 3 damaging abilities, so more power can impact him more here.
Also, do you know how physical and magical power scales basic attack damage? I'm curious if you know.
Exactly. I just simply don't care Kriegas opinion i came to read and try out build that author made. I see this "veteran" Kriega comment on everyone's builds yet I can't find any good builds from him and if there is any they are heavily outdated by multiple updates. Also tried some of hes suggestions and they never work. By guess is this Kriega eas a really dedicated Smite player and was good and ehat he did but something happened and he left Smite. Now comes on forums to tell everyone how this should be by looking up "pro" builds. Let me tell you Sir most people just don't care about "pros" most ppl just looking for some suggestions and some info on how to enhance their play with their favourite gods.
Dear Kriega don't take this the wrong way but nobody likes and old veteran sitting in a corner and telling young ones what to do. Even if you was good back in the day it doesn't matter that was yesterday. All that matters is today. People are looking in to future and past fades away.
My suggestion Mr. Kriega is MAKE SOME BUILDS and guids and lets see how that works out (with latest patch ofc.)
To author. Thank you for making this simple and easy to soke up. There are item or two i build differently. But this build is solid go to especially to new players or someone who just wants to try Ravana.
Tnx and keep up the god work. +1 from me.

Firstly, im not a veteran on the site. Lets get that out of the way.
In regards to my builds, so what if they're outdated? They're in the season 5 section for a reason. I will update them for the current season as I see fit.
If you checked my bio you would notice it says: "Some of my Season 5 builds may or may not still be relevant. For now though, most builds won't be updated for season 6, instead, ask if you're having trouble with a build." Do I need to put it simpler?
Also tried some of hes suggestions and they never work.
Maybe because you can't read build titles properly, like how you went on about my Ninja Tabi Bellona comment on Stuke's guide, when Stuke's guide is meant for SOLO lane, while my Bellona build was for ADC. I even added an updated build that utilises Berserker's Shield and Ninja Tabi but it didn't bother you to even check that or reply to my reply to your original comment.
By guess is this Kriega eas a really dedicated Smite player and was good and ehat he did but something happened and he left Smite.
Is it a sin to take a break from Smite? Jeezus.
Dear Kriega don't take this the wrong way but nobody likes and old veteran sitting in a corner and telling young ones what to do.
What kind of petty attempt is this and do you really think it's going to change? Also sitting in a corner? What am I, some senile degenerate?
Even if you was good back in the day it doesn't matter that was yesterday. All that matters is today. People are looking in to future and past fades away.
Not sure of what you're onto here... If you're referring to my comments on builds from previous seasons, they're still relevant for the current season to explain changes that may have happened to gods and/or items that make certain items less/or more relevant for the present than before.
Now comes on forums to tell everyone how this should be by looking up "pro" builds. Let me tell you Sir most people just don't care about "pros" most ppl just looking for some suggestions and some info on how to enhance their play with their favourite gods.
That's because pro builds can be useful as a valuable reference. I don't see how using that would not enhance play with particular gods?
I mean technically asking me to make builds is also seeking my opinion on item choices for gods...
If your is brown, mine should be purple.
If it was up to me troll builds should be archived instantly upon being reported to moderators as there already is a site that caters towards that. Forgetting awful builds, quite a few recent troll builds on this site have escaped the moderators' (how many can archive?) wrath.
"however, replacing transcendence would undermine a lot of the late game snowball as well as early game cooldowns." - how? Transcendence is only useful if you have many stacks on it or buy it lategame. Shifter's Shield has it's high power if you're above the health threshold.
Here's an example build: Warrior Tabi, The Crusher, Shifter's Shield, Hydra's Lament, Bloodforge, situational item or Jotunn's Wrath maybe even Trans last.
What I was arguing was Shifter's being more relevant early game compared to a unstacked/low stacks transcendence.
But I do love the subtlety of your sarcasm. It has the delicate feel of a Jean Claude Van Damme punch in the nuts.
I will say, Hastened Katana is in my mind a bit too much of a commitment to basic attacking and sticking to enemies...that's not Ravana's best strength. His most common use is as an ability user, and you do target that very well with Trans + Soul Eater + Jotunn's Wrath.
I understand making this a hybrid, by getting Ninja Tabi instead of Warrior Tabi, and also getting The Crusher, which is technically a hybrid type item.
That said, if as you say you can't always rely on the rando, then a pure glass cannon build like this is also goes against that. I feel he's best built with at least some protections, since he does have to get in close to deal his damage.
One alternate to Hastened Katana would be Qin's Sais, at least if you're doing a relatively quick AA cancel combo...basic basic ability, basic basic ability. 2 hits before an ability because his attack progression is 0.75 / 0.5 / 1.25. Those first 2 hits are quick, and Qin's passive will get a lot of use if you do that.
