Introduction

Hi, this guide is brought to you by lestimics. I started playing Smite 1 on PC in 2014. I've been playing competitively since 2020 and have been a professional Smite player from 2021 to 2023. I've played on different teams like JustF6, Gilded Gladiators or Tartarus Titans.

You can check out the SmiteVOD YouTube channel where my recorded professional games are. I've peaked at 3500 MMR GrandMaster/Masters in Ranked Conquest on the PC platform every season since 2018. I've also done Smite Masters (LAN) 4 times in 2022, so I really think I have the knowledge to guide on the Solo role in SMITE 2.

I hope you find this guide as a useful learning resource for playing Hades as Solo.

Here are my socials:

Abilities

Hades's Abilities

Passive - Blight

Your attacks and abilities apply Blight.

Blighted enemies have reduced ftrength and intelligence, and receive additional effects from your abilities.

Blight effects are important to have active when you use your abilities.

Ability 1 - Death From Below

Leap forward to deal magical damage to enemies.

Slows blighted enemies and applies blight.

With this ability you will get closer to enemies so you can use your other skills.

Ability 2 - Shroud of Darkness

Silence enemies in front of you with a cone shape and apply blight.

Blighted enemies are also feared.

Shroud of Darkness is very good for combo before use Devour Souls

Ability 3 - Devour Souls

Deal Magical Damage to enemies around you. It is very important to use this ability after applying the blight.

Blighted enemies explode when hit, dealing additional magical damage to them and enemies around them. Heal yourself and your allies around you per blighted enemy hit.

It is the main ability of Hades because you will easily push minions and do more damage.

Ultimate - Pillar of Agony

Channel a vortex around you that repeatedly deal magical damage, reducing your abilities cooldowns for each hit. While channeling, you may use another ability, but only once.

Reduce the physical and magical protections of blighted enemies damaged. You are CC immune while channeling and gain increased physical protection and magical protection.

As you can only use a skill while you are using your ultimate, use Devour Souls if the enemy doesn't have a dash to escape and if he do, use Death From Below when he try to escape.

Example Combos:

Basic to apply blight > Death From Below to get closer (basic) > Shroud of Darkness (basic)> Devour Souls (basic) > Pillar of Agony

Basic to apply blight > Shroud of Darkness (basic) > Devour Souls (basic) > Death From Below if the enemy try to escape > Pillar of Agony

Basic to apply blight > Shroud of Darkness (basic) > Devour Souls (basic) > Pillar of Agony (Try to burst).

Always try to combo with basics to use Polynomicon.

How to play Hades

Gameplay Start / Early Game
  • Start on the fire giant's side of the lane. In the first wave of minions you have to try to gather as many minions as possible and apply blight to them, to do this you have to hit basics to the enemy god so that the minions go towards you and you can use Devour Souls on all the minions. For the second wave of minions you will do the same but this time go get the blue as quickly as possible.

  • The following moves are push the lane and try to win the Totem (Totem gives gold for all the team and mana regeneration). From level 2 you will push quickly using Death From Below > Devour Souls so you can not let him push the minions so you can get the Totem easier and be able to invade the harpies on the sides or quickly make your own to continue creating pressure.

  • On the side camps you can kill the gold camp which doesn't give you experience but a lot of gold, and the two harpy camps give gold and experience.

  • Remember to buy wards to avoid the ganks and try to comunicate to the jungle to invade blue buffs or try to kill the solo laner.

  • From this point it is repeating the same thing push minions > blue buff > Totem > harpy camps.

Mid Game:
  • At this point of the game, which is roughly between 10:00 and 20:00 minutes, you have to push the lanes as quickly as possible and try to rotate (You can do proxy farm to rotate faster) because right now you have great potential with your ultimate Pillar of Agony to kill anyone.

  • If you do rotations in mid lane, try to engage with your ultimate Pillar of Agony on the enemy support or mid to get some kills and be able to do the gold fury or the pyromancer

  • If you use the teleporter from the solo to the duo lane, you have to do the same play but trying to kill the carry and gain the pressure to be able to do the Gold Fury.

Late Game:
  • At this point in the game, team fights begin around the fire giant at around minute 25:00. Your job is to look a good engage with your team so you can use your full abilitie combo and deal a lot of damage.

  • To deal with this type of situation you have to take advantage by using the bushes to become invisible or looking for a good moment to engage, looking for the mages and carries so you can kill them quickly with Shroud of Darkness > Devour Souls] or Death From Below to get closer > Shroud of Darkness > Devour Souls > Pillar of Agony.

  • The moment you have the fire giant buff, the sieges on the Phoenix begin. Here you have to continue taking advantage of your engage potential and destroy the Phoenix with the help of your carry and mid slowly. You can also go with your jungle to another Phoenix to create pressure and your jungle can do good damage to the Phoenix easily, adding to the fact that you have a very good fight.

  • If the enemy has the fire giant and it is your turn to defend the Phoenix, you have to be in a group with your team and defend under the Phoenix, being careful with the picks.

  • Constantly call for all information, when you engage try to be followed by your team, always be sure of your decision making.

  • Remember to wards all the zone on fire giant and when you are sieging you need wards too.

How to ward as Solo

White circles: Vision Ward
Green circles: Sentry Ward

Early/Mid Game

Here you can see the best spots to ward as a Sololaner.

These wards will help you to know where the enemy sololaner is moving, as well as if the jungler is trying to gank you.

High Pressure Game

These wards are when you have a lot of pressure in lane and you want to invade blue buffs and red buffs. Remember to call your team that you want to invade so they can help you.

Late Game

These wards are for fire giant teamfights. Remember that you can only have 2 wards active at the same time, so you will need help from your team to ward the entire area from the fire giant.

Siege/Defense Phoenix

These wards are very important when it comes to sieges and defending phoenixes. In this case, the wards are the same whether you defend or attack.
This wards are important because mages often cast abilities through walls, you will be able to react better to their abilities.
