NOTE; you can bracer of undoing in place of meditation cloak
The true point of this build is to keep you on the field as long as possible without returning to the fountain. Start of by going for the manna buff, you’ll need the boost to stay in battle for an extended period of time. After getting the buff, advance slowly onto the field, careful not to tangle with enemy gods. You job is to clear minions. Simply move into a wave of minions and use either devour souls, or shroud of darkness (never both on the same wave, your purpose is to conserve manna) then back away slowly, staying close enough to finish them of with your basic attack. This should provide a steady stream of up, putting you well above the enemy team level wise. Try not to use death from bellow this early in the game aggressively, because you need it to escape hard cc, traps, and aggressive assassin attacks. If enemy gods get too close, use the classic shroud of darkness/devour soul’s combo, then hit them with a view basic attacks. This should deal out a bunch of damage that should scare them of. If they have like a bar of health left and aren’t near their tower, you could use death from bellow to get a kill, but remember, your goal is to stay alive, so don’t take too many risks. If you run out of manna, but aren’t in immediate danger, DO NOT RECALL, but stay in the defensive ring of your tower and just minion crunch with your basic, or use the Meditation Cloak relic. Recall only when you have retreated to your tower without manna, and more than one enemy is pursuing, OR when your below 30 percent health. Play this way till around level 8 or 9.
Now, with a stronger build, hopefully the Aegis Amulet relic, and your Ultimate, you are ready to become the true master of undeath. Every time you come from the fountain, go for a manna camp to increase your battle endurance. you can get easy kills by combining death from below and devour souls, or finish of weakened enemies with shroud of darkness, eater of souls and a few basic attacks. You can now use the combination of death from bellow, your ultimate, then the shroud of darkness/devour soul’s combo to get double and even triple kills without support. By this point, hades can put out a TON of damage. He is a force to be reckoned with. But the true power of this build I have perfected through trial and error, is the incredible ability it gives you to TOWER DIVE. The massive amounts of life steel and magical protection this build gives you allows you to get tower dive kills, and get out alive… much like an assassin actually. The combo is simple. Use death from bellow from a nearby jungle camp into the tower area where a weakened opponent is sitting unsuspecting. Immediately use devour souls to deal allot of damage, as well as to heal you for any tower damage you have taken, and if the enemy is still alive, just use shroud of darkness and basic attacks and/or ultimate. Then, use death from bellow to get out if it’s recharged. If not, use Aegis Amulet and simply float out of there. To enemies and allies alike, it will look like you just walked out on the brink of death.
THANK YOU for reading, give me feed back.
What’s up everyone. It’s been a while and allot of updates have happened since I released this simple build.
First off, when starting off in conquest, get Vampiric Shroud or Sands of time as your starter item. Then get Tiny Trinket and a couple Mana Potions. For your relic, get bracers of undoing. Even though I still argue to this day that meditation is okay for hades, in conquest, bracers of undoing is more useful because you will probably be solo most of the time.
My Joust and arena start off hasn’t changed.
The rest of the build has changed a bit however. First of all, get Rod of Tahiti as third item instead of Spear of Desolation… Only swap for Spear if you are against multiple tanks. Next, I have replaced Pythagorem’s Piece for Bancroft’s Talon, due to updates B’s Talon now outclasses the Piece by far. Finally, consider getting Spirit Robe instead of the Mantle of Discord, for its cheaper and has crowd control reduction. Also, Hades already has fearing in his kit, so the extra fearing added by the Mantle of Discord may not be necessary.

May I suggest an alternative build: Shoes of the Magi, Bancroft's Talon, Ethereal Staff/Warlock's Sash, Obsidian Shard, Breastplate of Valor, Rod of Tahuti
or another example: Shoes of the Magi, Bancroft's Talon, Void Stone, Spear of Desolation, Rod of Tahuti, Spirit Robe/ Mantle of Discord.
For your starter (Conquest) I recommend Sands of Time, Tiny Trinket, 1 health potion and 2 mana potions. Also please DO NOT get Meditation Cloak on Hades... Bracer of Undoing is fine though.
And lastly I would max out Devour Souls slightly sooner in your god skill order. Death From Below is not a priority early game anyway and putting points into it does not lower its cooldown.
Could you just explaim why Bracer Of Undoing? I mean, you couldn't activate it during your ultimate, which is your main damage-taking state, so why is it there?
A couple things (obviously you don't have to change anything in the guide/build, but at least answer my questions please <3); what do you think of more cooldown reduction for Hades (Breastplate of Valor or Chronos Pendant)? Hades' cooldowns are pretty hefty, and I'm thinking it'll greatly increase his dps and health sustain while grabbing a bit of mana sustain. I'm thinking it'll replace either Mantle of Discord or Spear of Desolation respectively, as each has their different uses.
And under "Staying on The Field" there's a weird phrase. "Simply move into a wave of minions and use either devour souls, or shroud of darkness (never both on the same wave, your purpose is to conserve manna)". Shroud of Darkness only applies blight and silences; it doesn't damage nor increase damage done from basics, so I assume you meant Death from Below? Or maybe I'm missing something?
also, about using shroud of darkness on minions. this technique should only be used early game when minions can deal a deadly amount of damage to you, and when devour souls is on cool down. Shroud of darkness also applies fear, which is just as effective as a slow is. fear causes an enemy god to lose control of their character for a few seconds, making it hard to pursue or run away from you. what allot of people don't think about is that fear can ALSO BE APPLIED TO MINIONS. this is useful when you are slowly backtracking/attacking minions, because it can keep melee minions from getting close enough to attack you.
I do like the idea of not backing a million times per game tho, so I'll try out the build for a bit and report back :)
I understand your sentimentality lol; like, I rush Shield of Regrowth on Amaterasu every game, even when it's not as useful (like in Arena) xD
I still don't think fearing the minions is as useful as you'd think though. It's only one or two ticks of melee damage, and you'll have to apply blight before you use shroud, meaning you either have to auto-attack, wasting quite a bit of time for a relatively small effect, or use Death from Below, essentially wasting your escape. Idk, to each their own I guess, but IMO it's just a cool tech that doesn't have as much game presence. Obviously you're going to have those rare instances where you survive with less than 50 health, in which case thank your minion-fearing, but IMO using your Shroud + Devour combo just does too much to only use one. And they both have about the same cooldown (exactly the same if they're on the same levels), so it really doesn't matter if one of them is on cooldown unless you used one and not the other (which you were probably in a god fight to use either/or and can use the post-fight heal anyways).
Obviously I'm not trying to change how you play Hades; you probably have much more playtime than me and are like 10x better than me lol. It's a cool tech, and I'd love to see it used successfully :)
