When building Vamana, if your enemy is physical, build Berk shield then boots then void shield or stone cutting, hastened etc.
If the enemy character is magical build berk shield then boots then go into oni hunter's grab. The early game mp5 really helps too!

Hello fellow Smite lovers! Today I'm going to be putting out a simple guide for Vamana. There are other builds out there which are possibly better than this build however this has worked fine for me getting into Platinum rank.
I would like to say thank you to the kind players who commented to help improve the build with tips and build changes. I would also like to thank https://www.smitefire.com/smite/guide/a-guide-to-creating-a-guide-11941 this smitefire post for helping create the god guide with tips on making smitefire guides.
Hope this helps as much as possible!
If you have any comments on the guide, ares that were good, areas that were not so good or need improving, please comment and add your ideas. I will read all comments to improve the guide as much as possible.
Have a new build that is better than the one shown? Suggest it with reasoning!
The starter items!
I have chosen to start with Warrior's Blessing Warriors Blessing and Round Shield round shield, the reason for is that Warrior's blessing is just an all round good item to have and round shield is the start of Berserker's shield. Two Healing Potion health pots are bought for sustain and a Mana Potion mana pot to help before you take your mana buff. If you use mana well with Vamana you could also purchase a Multi Potion multi potion which would be more useful.
How to counter high amounts of enemy healing.
Example enemy gods: Baron Samedi, Chang'e, Aphrodite, Hel, Ra, Anubis, Ah Puch, Camazotz (you get the idea)
Items such as Pestilence (reduces enemy healing by 25% within 55 units) and Beatstick (reduces healing by 40% as well as regeneration via hitting abilities on enemies).
Early game:
Most new solo laners find the early game of conquest hard. Only one ability which doesn't clear and the enemy solo laner is usually more experienced and bullies them. Vamana doesn't have the strongest early game, but also not the worst. You will start by putting one point into your third ability Umbrellarang. This is also the ability you will try to max out first, followed by your second ability armoured umbrella.
The lane minions should come at around 21 seconds into the game. Try to get your third ability Umbrellarang to double hit all the minions, (don't worry about poking till about level 5). I also recommend you stand near the enemy tower's jungle out of sight and use your three Umbrellarang while the minions are still under the enemy tower. The reason for doing this is so that when your minions and the enemy minions meet in lane, your ability will have around 3 seconds off the next use. This helps that low early game clear.
After using your third ability Umbrellarang and getting the double hits on the minions, take out the back archer minions first. Many don't realise but they do 25 damage whereas the front minions only do 10 damage. It's surprising to see how much of a difference it makes when you clear the archers. Another trick to clearing better.
After about 2 waves of clear your jungler should come to clear your blue buff. Try hard to clear in time to get the xp, getting to level 2 before the enemy can be very beneficial. BE AWARE OF YOUR ENEMIES LEVEL. If your enemy hits level 2 before you, and you don't realise it can turn into an easy death. Also getting higher level allows for better clear.
If you clear the lane first, and have no mana buff up. Don't be scared to start poking the enemy. This usually causes them to target you, however you should have some remaining minions that will help you damage your foe. Using your minions to kill an enemy between level 1-3 can get you the first kill. Remember start health is around 500 and the lane minions hit for a max of 115 damage per second. Minions are scary man!
General:
When playing conquest many miss understand the importance of every little bit of farm. So here is a quick tutorial on how gold, xp and health works for jungle monsters. I will also discuss gold fury and fire giant.

Although it would be nice to see more situational items listed, I think the main focus of this guide is the write-up. Plus, solo lane has many different situational items that they could build and to list them all would be a pain. So I don't really think it's necessary.
I can appreciate the effort and time that went into your write-up. Again, nice job.
Regrowth did get a buff for S6 though...only 2k gold, and a slight HP5/MP5 boost to +15. Just, if you need health, I'd think Witchblade might be a better option (as long as there are basic attackers to counter). Other options I like would include Midgardian Mail, Genji's Guard, and Pestilence for items with health. He could probably even consider Blackthorn Hammer.
And that's the thing with most of those builds, and why I want more health. The ult damage shield and healing is based on max health. He'll benefit from it pretty nicely, as long as you've also got a decent level of protections.
Regrowth is nice for Ama, Herc, Chaac, and Guan.
And when you learn how to use smitefire more, change the guide part so that the text isn't multicolored/rainbow. If you want different sections to be distinct, add titles (that you can colour if you want). Leave most of the text plain unless you're mentioning specific items from the database.
UPDATE: I've added a quickly made situational items area. Comments on what needs adding and changing would be cool, thank you for all the help.
Just wanted to say the builds look good in general (would be nice to see some alternative items that might also be good situationally), and with the shield being one of 6 items, I really think it's necessary so you can show good replacement options.
Your writeup of gameplay has some good tips. My favorite thing to do with him is the dash/knockup, cancel out and hit him with basics. I'm also a strong proponent of Hastened Katana on him.
And I mean, there's just so much CC in the game, that if I'm not the one slowing/locking them down, someone else probably is.
One thing to note is that I'd probably build a bit more health in my preferred Vamana build. I likely wouldn't pick up Mantle of Discord, and keep in mind these builds aren't really complete (now that I think about it), because Berserker's Shield is listed as one of the 6 main items. You'll replace that late, and that's another opportunity to become more tanky. So you don't necessarily need the FB health either.
Interesting you point this out. I've never had a problem with this when using FB
And it sounds like you're just considering your immediate target, and your main experience if/when you use it. I'm also considering the higher MS overall, which will help you get from place to place more quickly (and which is more important in Conq which we hardly play but which is what I'm mostly considering here). Even in a teamfight, it will get you somewhere more quickly if you need to be a pest to help out teammates there. Your quicker presence and higher DPS is going to be a significant distraction. FB will likely help your team take down an individual target a bit better, while HK gives you more individual utility to help your team in a different way.
And again...repeating...this is MY preference. I already said Frost can be nice for the health and team control, and I was only pointing out the hard stat difference.
Basically, Bran is saying: Boogie is wrong and should feel bad for being wrong.
Only reason I presented it like that is because it seems you're arguing against my opinion/preference. Sounded sort of like "well I'VE never had a problem with this when using FB, so I don't know what you're really talking about." Straight up I just prefer HK. It feels good to me, and it might not for you.
Wouldn't have said anything if you said "I get your point, but Frost works for me and my playstyle."
Also, I might go easier on you if you actually played more with me, instead of playing Civ 6 or saying you need to get to bed...on a SATURDAY no less...unless you actually work on Sunday, in which case choose one:
And yes, that's an appropriate pic when referring to Boog and I.
Hastened is only if you want to be the damage dealing/ harassing solo laner. Otherwise just build tanky instead so you can actually soak up damage.
build 1 : beserkers, boots, void shield, hastened, urchin, oni hunters, sell beserkers lategame for mantle.
build 2: beserkers, boots, oni hunters, hastened, urchin, void shield, sell beserkers lategame for mantle.
As alternative relics add thorns, horrific emblem, blink.
And for build 3 when I meant Soul Eater I meant start with the tier 2 of soul eater. No warriors blessing. Bound Gauntlet, Chalice of Healing and 1 or 2 Healing Potion for soul eater build.
For builds 1 and 2 start with Round Shield, Chalice of Healing, 2 x Healing Potion.
Overall, thank you for the comment!
