Introduction

Nox is one of the Most Annoying mages ever, I love her just as much as I love Chang'e

Welcome to my guide for Nox, The Annoying Goddess you hate!

Do note: I will only be giving one Build right now.

Regardless, lets move on to the CC Queen Herself, Nox

Pros/Cons

Pros:
Cons:

  • Little bit of a Mana Issue

Skills

Nox's candles gather energy from all abilities she uses. For every ability Nox casts a candle is lit. For every candle lit Nox gains +3% magical power. When Nox takes damage from an enemy god, one of her candles is blown out.

Nox extends her shadow, rooting and crippling a single enemy god in place and dealing damage over time. Nox must channel to maintain hold on the target, but may cancel this ability early. While channeling this ability Nox suffers no directional movement penalty.

Ability Type: Line
Damage: 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 (+20% of your Magical Power)
Root Duration: 2s
Range: 65
Cost: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70
Cooldown: 10s

Nox creates a void of darkness that silences all enemies within. After 2s it explodes, dealing damage.

Ability Type: Ground Target
Damage: 90 / 160 / 230 / 300 / 370 (+100% of your Magical Power)
Radius: 20
Cost: 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 / 90
Cooldown: 13s

Nox unleashes a vortex of dark energy that explodes on contact with an enemy god, dealing damage to all enemies in range 20 and applying damage over time. Enemies hit are also weakened, dealing less damage for the duration.

Ability Type: Line
Initial Damage: 200 / 250 / 300 / 350 / 400 (+75% of your Magical Power)
Damage: 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 (+5% of your Magical Power) every 1s for 5s
Damage Reduction: 40% for 5s
Range: 120
Cost: 100
Cooldown: 90 / 85 / 80 / 75 / 70s

Items

I won't be talking about all of the items because they are generic to a Mage and you will usually see them

[/tr]
Book of Thot
This item is very useful to pick off at the start because of it's Mana And MP Gain, You can stack it easily as Nox as well Using your Basic attacks to stop the minions and Then Using Siphon Darkness To Kill Them.
This item is very Nice for a Supporty But Still Damage Oriented Build It Provides Enough support to protect Nox And Also Provides some other assets which are very useful for her.
The Sweet Damage of Soul Reaver could be perfectly timed with your ult, The Damage you deal with your ult is high but adding soul reaver to it makes it very High,It's highly unlikely that the enemy will escape safely, How ever you do need Proper Timing for this.

Gameplay

Some quick tips

  • Tips for Murdering
    • Use the Combo 2+3+1 = Certain Death
    • Use ult if the enemy is getting away
    • If you fail your combo Back away from the fight
  • Tips for Escaping
    • Shadow Step into a recalling ally
    • Use [[Siphon Darkness] On Key Points, Like small passing places so the enemy can't use a movement ability
    • If you See an Ally Using a Mobility ability or you are getting attack and on low health use Shadow Step To go inside them and don't come out if they are still there.

Thank you

Thank you for Staying till the end of the Guide, I hope you liked it :)

Hi Seke,

Going to comment on a couple things in your build.
  • In your "full" list, you're greatly lacking in penetration of any type in the early-game. That might be semi-okay in teamfight modes, but you don't clarify mode. Since you get Sands of Time to start, your best bet may be to get Shoes of the Magi (as is seen in your alt build). Otherwise, you'll probably want to consider Spear of Desolation or Divine Ruin (anti-heal) after you finish Shoes + Thoth. Many, many people miss out on pen , but it's a key stat, and at least some flat pen should be purchased early/mid for any damage dealer.

  • Void Stone is probably not the best item for her. Yes, the protection reduction is good, and the other stats are helpful, but it's more of a bruiser/tank item. You're often going to want to play at the edge of Shadow Lock's range, which is in fact 10 units outside of Void's aura. Your better bet by far is to get either Spear of the Magus (stacks ticks from Shadow Lock and builds up from Night Terror's DoT which is helpful in a combo situation) or Obsidian Shard. Either of these are probably way more core than Stone.

  • I don't think Gem of Isolation is a great item for her. Yes, it's nice if you're ulting someone, as the tick damage will ensure they stay slowed for a long time...but otherwise, your normal combo is going to be to just lock them down with Shadow Lock, in which case, the slow isn't doing as much while they're stuck in one place.

About The Second and third Point, What I don't specify is That I Play her as a Bruisery Support, I don't often play her in Solo lane so I wouldn't know much about it, I forgot to mention that in my build, About the First Point I am taking Divine Ruin in my first full list, While I added Magi and Desolation in the Alternative version, Hope that Answered your questions, What I don't mention is that Those are the items which I get in early mid,Late etc, The build order can be changed by who ever wants to get them, Hence why My Full builds are really weird and messy and don't focus on order of Items.

Understood, Seke. Also, was mostly thinking of Mid-lane, not Solo, but can realign my thought process. Did you mean you play her in Conquest in the Support role? Or do you mean more of a supportive role in a teamfight mode like Arena/Clash etc.?).

I would still not suggest Void Stone in most cases, for the reasons I stated above. With a support function in mind, her ability to silence ( Siphon Darkness), root and cripple ( Shadow Lock) is how she will best work as a teammate, because she just isn't a tank at heart. If you do consider protection items, I think Spirit Robe / Mantle of Discord are possibly your best bets.

I would consider skipping Book of Thoth, Bancroft's Talon, and Soul Reaver if you're playing a teamfight mode in a support role. Go for items that will help the group instead...so, instead of Bancroft, consider Pythagorem's Piece for the friendly aura. Things like that.

Here's a possible generic build I might consider for her (teamfight mode):
In Conquest (if playing Support), you'd want to do a slightly more traditional Support start, with Watcher's Gift. If you just mean emphasizing your ability to Support (but still playing Mid-lane), then yeah, normal build would be fine.
