Pick whichever passive you prefer.
In this build Odysseus' Bow overcaps AS by .03, not a big deal IMO.
Late game you can replace Ninja Tabi with Elixir of Speed and buy a situational item.

If the Item damage of Odysseus' Bow is added to AA DPS and @ 3 stacks on Ichaival, Ichaival does +21 more AA DPS.
If the item damage of Odysseus' Bow is added to AA DPS then Odysseus' Bow does more AA DPS until Ichaival gets to 3 stacks.(O Bow advantage per Ichaival stack. +63 @ 0, +35 @ 1, +7 @ 2, -21 @ 3).
Ichaival also slows enemy attack speed.
I got these ratings with protections set at 70 and health set at 2100. Increasing these numbers I didn't see that big of a difference.
If my math is wrong then none of this matters lol but best case scenario: Ichaival at 3 stacks does +121 more AA DPS than Odysseus' Bow. Odysseus' Bow does 800 bonus damage total to 5 people -121 = 679 more damage.
So 679 more damage split to 5 people(136 per person) every 4th AA or slow a squishy's AS down by 30% every 3rd AA, 10% per AA.
Regarding the best use of Ichaival, or in general, an ADC is always looking to deal damage to a single target at once. They're significantly less effective if they're switching targets all the time.
As an FYI, in your O-Bow calcs, I plugged it into DV-8's and my calculator, and added a side calc for total O-Bow damage (taking enemy prots into account as well). The assumption here will be that it hits 5 separate god targets, and that the target already has full Exe stacks. The value I get per target is 119.2 damage, or a total of 5 separate targets at a combined 596 damage. Each regular basic attack also deals 355 damage. Standard DPS outside of the O-Bow passive is 683.74. In 4 hits including the O-Bow passive, damage on a single target is (355*4) + 119 = 1539 damage.
If I use Ichaival only considered at full stacks in place of O-Bow, each regular basic attack deals 430 damage, and DPS is 805.01. 4 hits will deal (430*4) = 1720 damage. Ichaival has the edge here on a single target, but does a bit less damage if O-Bow's passive hits all 5 god targets in a teamfight (unlikely).
Both O-Bow and Ichaival are very viable. I personally like Ichaival more...the power will also help any ability damage you deal, and I really like the passive AS slow and value it more than the O-Bow poke damage.
One thing I do notice is that Asi isn't listed in your core items, but it magically appears in your final build. In a traditional build, and as you show in your build, Asi in the 3rd spot is normal, but with Cern, since he has a bit of built in lifesteal, you can always delay a bit if you really prefer.
Also as an FYI, with Ich in that full build before Tabi replacement, your AS is 2.43, almost max. With O-Bow, it hits the cap...so basically not much difference in overall AS between the two at that stage.
When you replace Tabi late, you've got options, but I don't think you need more AS.
I played around with items to replace boots with before updating the guide. Still can't decide which one I prefer. The Crusher is an odd item, it always seems to outperform items on the calculator but just seems out of place. Silverbranch Bow still seems good, since season 6 I haven't used Silverbranch for it's passive but for it's cost efficiency as an early or mid game item. I haven't tried using it late. I'll try Rage out, I can see where the extra crit damage could secure a kill.
I'd say I'd still prefer Ichaival. The lesser AS is fine cuz he has a good AS steroid. And any power (even unstacked) is better than none when he's ulting. Does that sound right?
21/0/16 game!! Amazing thank you
I did my own comparisons(*not the first to see or use this build) and it seems like a Hybrid build with both Runeforged Hammer and Silverbranch Bow give you the most DPS compared to the other builds.
These are strictly DPS numbers which Kero stated the calculations for total damage = AA DPS + Item + P + 1 + 2 + 3 + 4. It accounts for stats like Power, Pen, Crit, LS, AS, etc. You can also toggle Stacks and Procs for items. So there could be more to a build than just DPS for hunter but then again I'm still learning.(The hybrid build still has good sustain with the 200 extra health and lifesteal)
I can make a spreadsheet comparing the builds and items if someone wants me to provide it.
I took Titan's Bane out of the main build and made it a situational item. DukeSloth compared it against Runeforged Hammer. I compared it against Hammer and Odysseus' Bow. With the spreadsheet you can edit the protection of the enemy. At default 48 protection the Titan's Bane obviously was outmatched. At 100 protection the items seemed equal in DPS. At around 150+ protections is where I started to see Titan's Bane have a good edge over other items. So IMO it's best used when the enemy team has 3 enemies with 150+ protections or 2 with 150+ and they are extremely aggressive to the point where unless you kill them you can't target the squishies.
Sorry for the long post, hopefully some of this made sense. Please give me your feedback so I can make this a better guide.
I don't understand why people don't like sites that help out new people or people who want to try a new God but don't know where to start. Seems like in general there aren't a lot of content creators that want to help grow the community.
In your Hybrid build, I'm not sure I like seeing Bloodforge in the 4th spot. I'd want to see earlier pen function ( The Executioner) before it...but that might just be my preference.
I also - in theory - just don't like the concept of Silverbranch Bow. It's trying to reward you from making your build potentially inefficient, as the passive gives you bonus damage for overcapping AS. In addition, you do NOT overcap AS at all in this build, so you're never getting the benefit of the passive. The stats of Silver are very nice...but I just don't like when an item's full potential is never realized.
FYI, I'm going to trust in DV-8's and my spreadsheet that we created (crossing my fingers that it's accurate). See here: https://www.smitefire.com/smite/forum/theory-crafting/dv-8-amp-branmuffin17s-hunter-dps-calculator-58893
Here's a snapshot of your example build.
Also, when we're looking at full builds, default protections should not be 48. That's the level 20 prots for magical. Average physical prots without added items is usually around 68-70, and that's the value that should be used at a low end.
I like the added health from Rune, but in the end, I guess I'm also just a hunter ADC traditionalist. I'd prefer to stick with the old builds.
To me the default 48 protection was just a constant number to use for all builds, I also compared them around 100 protections and 150 protections. I will try and post some screenshots at 68 protection, 2k HP.
Again this is with this calculator so everything I post could be wrong. That's why I'm asking for help.
I agree with you that not using the passive of Silverbranch Bow is a waste. I've compared other builds with Silverbranch Bow that exceeded the AS cap and the Hybrid build still put out more DPS.
Thanks for taking the time to discuss this, I appreciate your help.
Edit: Fixed the links, thanks.
Yeah, the hybrid build definitely seems to be stronger, at least for a god that has 0 steroids. I'm guessing it doesn't take O-Bow's proc's into account, but that's okay, as it's fairly minimal overall. It also requires the enemy to be CCd to take full effect.
It also doesn't have the same amount of lifesteal, but dealing more damage will help make up for some of that difference.
There are definitely arguments for the Rune build. It's very interesting to see a different build come into prominence. Still don't like Silver.
So I'd go: dev, boots, exe, rune, rest of the build swapping dev out for bf late.
Hydra's Lament I have seen used on some hunters recently and wanted to know if Cernunnos' Shifter of Seasons applies Hydra's passive when switching seasons and if it's a viable option? His Bramble Blast hits pretty hard and Hydra's would do more damage. The CDR is kind of a waste all though 1-1.5 secs on his Bramble Blast and Horn Charge could come in handy.
The second item is The Crusher, it provides three different stats that are useful and the passive could help his 2,3,4. Is it viable?
Crusher is allright on him, but you typically see that on transcendence builds while Cernunnos usually go's devourers, though i've seen some runeforged thing going on with hunters.
