I start with blessing for Joust only. I don't get it for arena.
Odysseus' Bow is a better option for ability based builds or Devourer's Gauntlet builds where tank shred and power/pen is prioritized and little attack speed is present. Asi is also another option for an ability based build.
If the enemy team is tank heavy I sometimes go Titan's Bane instead of Bloodforge
Hey everyone, this is a build I've put together (not guide) for AMC with the intention of me myself learning from the comments that are likely to follow. I thought about asking on the forums first and then later make it into a guide but figured this way would be faster and would be seen by more people looking for an AMC build than a post on the forums.
I made this build based on my own experience with hunters as well as from what I've read on other AMC guides but am looking for more advice. So far I've had pretty good results with this build, mostly in arena where I often get KDA's like 19/2/16 but that's on PC where I only recently started playing (currently only level 15 on PC) so I'm playing against complete beginners who do not give me accurate testings of a build at all. My end goal is to update this guide to be better for a higher level of competition.
I realize that this isn't a good guide/build in terms of options and layout but I'm hoping that after some advice on the build and on different alternative items I can change that. Not really a huge fan of crit but I'm always open to the suggestions of more experienced players. Thanks again.
The builds above are courtesy of Kriega1 and after some testing I thought I would update the guide with them and my thoughts so far. I haven't played AMC enough to feel comfortable suggesting different situational and counter items so this update will be just my thoughts and experience on the different builds for those looking for different builds.
So for the ability based build the focus is obviously on AMC's abilities. I like this build and sometimes use it, it's just not my favorite as I prefer AMC to be more AA based and I think that's where he shines more. What I find is really nice about this build is that it makes his abilities strong enough to be his primary/large part of his damage without taking a whole lot from his AA's. The protection shred from The Executioner and the AS from The Crusher on top of the AS boost from hives keeps his AA's from falling off and becoming garbage. Together you still have some penetration to get through tanks as well as enough attack speed to reliably refresh bees which is important for maintaining maximum damage. So while his AA's aren't as strong as they could be, they're still strong enough to be a threat and play a role in maximizing your damage output. While this is a good build I simply don't prefer it as it doesn't quite fit my playstyle which isn't to say it won't fit yours. You might love it and by all means give it a go.
The AA/ability hybrid build is my favorite because it has a large focus on AA's which I like, without a complete disregard for abilities. Once fully built AMC's basic attacks can do serious damage and pose a threat to tanks. While not as good as in the ability build, AMC's abilities still pack a punch. This is from the large power increase in Transcendence and Bloodforge as well as the passive from The Crusher. Originally I had Jotunn's Wrath instead of The Crusher but after Kriega's advice I've found that the extra CDR isn't needed and The Crusher's passive is better even if it becomes slightly less effective late game. Swarm is your main clear tool and even though this isn't a full ability build, it can clear an entire wave of minions in one use by about the third item. This is my preferred build as it fits my playstyle best but again it's up to you and you may even change the build you use depending on enemy team comp. For example if you have a tank heavy enemy team you might want to go with this hybrid for the AA tank shred though I have not tested both builds to see if one is better than the other in terms of tank heavy teams.
Alright, the final build which is crit. I can't really explain why, but I've never been a huge fan of crit. It's fun to see those big crit numbers and I understand why crit can be useful and why it's there I've just never loved it. This is a good build and works well on AMC I'm just not a huge fan because I almost felt like it was slow to start out. By that I don't mean I had terrible damage early on, because I didn't, it's just that it almost felt like I could've been doing better. It wasn't until I got more of my crit items online that I really became more of a threat and had better wave clear. I may be a little biased but biased or not I will say that this is a good build and is still one that I would recommend as well as use from time to time depending on the situation. By this I mean that I recognize that crit is there so you can get the job done is as little hits as possible and sometimes this is simply the better way to.
From my experience so far (which is not nearly as much as others), crit works well when you may not have the best team to help you and the enemy team has a lot of stuns and other CC. From the games I've played I don't always get a team with good teamwork so sometimes they might be scattered leaving you to become a main target more often than not. This is when I've found crit to be useful as you can land a couple of your AA's relatively quick and either kill the enemy, or weaken them enough to retreat. Same goes for stuns and other CC. If you're not going to make it or keep getting shut down by CC, it helps to get in and do large amounts of damage quickly to either scare them off or leave easy kills for the rest of your team. Now this isn't fool proof, a half decent team will know that crits or not, you can't take on everyone by yourself but I've found it to help even things out a bit.
This is my take so far on some good builds for AMC and after some more practice with AMC I'll update this to be a bit better but until then I hope this guide helps. As always feel free to leave a comment in the discussion section.

Odysseus' Bow is only necessary for Devourer's Gauntlet builds that maximise tank shred or ability based build that have a lot of power/pen but very little attack speed. The author should add it as an alternative item choice.
Transcendence, Warrior Tabi, The Crusher, The Executioner, Qin's Sais, Bloodforge.
Or: Transcendence, Warrior Tabi, Soul Eater, The Crusher, The Executioner, Jotunn's Wrath.
Or (Crit): Devourer's Gauntlet, Ninja Tabi, Rage, The Executioner, Deathbringer, Poisoned Star.
