This start contains a lot of mana sustain, and basic healing sustain as well in it's components. MP5 early on gives discordia the ability to be much more agressive (She has a pretty underrated earlygame with the 6 mini-hits of Unruly Magic.
Insanely risky pick but really gives an early boost to discordia's damage.
in the end game you should decide if you want more damage or some defense. i'd go for full damage but always some HP.
I included ethereal staff because its getting buffed (you can take gem of iso in its place) and for some defense and CCR, which is pretty useful always
I don't include these items because they don't fit my playstyle or you just don't need them in every match but these definitely are some (not as good as the other ones but) decent picks. (Thanks to Kriega for suggesting Book of the Dead)

Contest of Gods
Discordia compares herself with her teammates all the time. Whoever has top player damage, gets a power buff which scales from discordia's level.
Physical power: 5 (+2 per level)
Magical power: 10 (+3 per level)
Seems pretty simple and boring, but its a great passive to get a succesful first blood, or a good invade into a speed buff. Duo lane will get the passive most of the times, or solo lane, so don't worry about getting it. (You'll get it in the lategame)
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Unruly Magic
Discordia fires a Proyectile that will travel and deal damage to every god that passes trough, until a certain location. in that point this one will explode, firing 6 little orbs that bounce through walls and deal minor damage.
Damage: 70/115/160/205/250 (+75% of your magical power).
6 Orbs damage: 20/30/40/50/60 (+10% of your magical power).
Mana cost: 50/55/60/65/70.
Cooldown: 12 seconds. Range: 55 units.
This is discordia's main damage and wave clear. this ability goes through walls, has a long range, and does double damage. With the right peel and, if you somehow hit the initial damage and the little orbs, you will absorbe at least 2/3 of someone's HP in the late game.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Strife
Discordia creates an area of strife that damages all enemies in it. If a single enemy is hit, this one is rooted for 1 second. If 2 or more enemies are inside it, they are attacked by madness, forcing to attack eachother dealing aditional damage and silencing them.
Damage: 60/100/140/180/220 (+60% of your magical power).
Madness damage: 10/20/30/40/50 (+10% of your magical power).
Mana cost: 60/65/70/75/80.
Cooldown: 15 seconds. Range: 60 units.
Strife has an insane range, and great cc potential. This is discordia's main tool and can provide your whole team a win in a teamfight. The coolest part of this ability is that in lane, if you hit an enemy god and minions, these will turn in the god dealing aditional damage, but the god will get rooted and won't attack these minions. So its probably one of the best and safest pokes on game, contains one of the best kinds of CC and has a broken range, still with cool damage. And i oop-
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Erratic Behavior
Discordia leaps into a short range, creating a circular area of magic as she lands, stealthing herself, gaining increased movement speed while in this area and receiving cooldown reduction into Unruly Magic and Strife.
Attacking from inside Erratic Behaviour will break the stealth.
Duration: 5 seconds.
Cooldown reduction each 0,5 second: 0,5/0,75/1/1,25/1,5 seconds per tick.
Movement speed: 20%/25%/30%/35%/40%.
Mana Cost: 50/55/60/65/70.
Cooldown: 18 seconds. Radius: 15.
So this leap isn't really a good escape, but has a big pro in it. This one is that you can juke very easily inside this small area, and allow yourself to spam insanely your abilities. It can go through some walls, not in conquest sadly. It has a long cooldown, so be careful with your usage.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
ULTIMATE ABILITY
Golden Apple of Discord
Discordia gains CC immunity as she fires a big apple across the battlefield. The apple pierces through minions, damaging them, and bounces through walls.
If the apple hits an enemy, the enemy will hold the apple, taking damage and being crippled and intoxicated (Moving uncontrollably from side to side) for 2 seconds. After this duration, the apple will explode, dealing damage and spreading the effects to the enemies around.
Initial damage: 100/125/150/175/200 (+40% of your magical power).
Detonating damage: 200/250/300/350/400 (+60% of your magical power).
Detonating time: 2 seconds. Spreaded detonation time: 3 seconds.
Mana cost: 100.
Cooldown: 90s. Range: 150.
This ability is INSANE! 600 (+100% of your power) damage, a cripple, an intoxication, 150 range...
like come on. This ability on a teamfight, if it hits 2+ enemies, can guarantee a deicide! The only weak poing of this ability is the travelling time. Its a little slow, but it still easy to hit.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Discordia is an utility mage. as you can see, she can only be a mid laner because she has not that insane damage that other mages have ( Deadly Aspects, Back Off!, Detonate Charge, etc). But she has broken CC and utility that no other mages can compete with. Discordia's role in a team is dealing damage from a safe placement. She is very squishy and targetable so she might be aside from her solo laner or from her jungle, or support the most possible time.
Discordia's kit using Erratic Behavior is extremely valuable, so try to use your abilities correctly and carefully, to deliver the best potential you have!
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
PROS: + Very safe + Very good poke + Valuable crowd control + Good early clear and early game + Incredible late game and objective shredding + Some useful mobility + Very good jungle camp clear |
CONS: - Easy target - Not the best scalings / base damages - Some mana hunger |
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Supports:
Ares Poor synergy
Ares is not really a good support, aside from his ultimate No Escape(A pretty good combo
with Golden Apple of Discord), his kit is worthless for Discordia. Also, his ultimate is really a Beads-burner, so you won't get a lot of advantage off from giving your ult into 1 or luckily 2 targets.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Artio Good synergy
Artio has good cc and peel for discordia, but not anything special or uncommon that she can bring to the table.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Athena Amazing synergy
Athena's Confound is perfect for discordia to give up her ultimate ability in it. Also, Athena's kit can protect discordia really well from enemies or just from being out of position.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Bacchus Average synergy
Bacchus brings nothing new to discordia. Yes, he has a knock up, and a stun, which is pretty valuable, but no saving for his backline. So if discordia is from behind, or in trouble, Bacchus can do almost nothing for her, since he needs to have his Chug fully active. His ultimate is OK.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Cabrakan Amazing synergy
Very good opportunity of a double-triple kill if they both use their ultimates together. Cabrakan also can help discordia in bad situations, and help her hit her abilities easily with his stun and his tremble.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Cerberus Good synergy
Stygian Torment has a lot of potential into Golden Apple of Discord.
Discordia can't do a lot with slows, but cerberus has protection shred, and if he hits his stun its pretty much a guaranteed kill.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Fafnir Average synergy
Fafnir can't help discordia a lot. He has a damage buff, and a stun.. but nothing really new for a good synergy.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Ganesha Poor synergy
Dharmic Pillars is awful combined with discordia's abilities. Only strife can take good usage of it. Ganesha's knock up is someway useful, and Good Fortune is cool for Discordia, but no direct or long lasting CC. Don't pick with her.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Geb Amazing synergy
Geb's Cataclysm into Strife is a won teamfight! Also geb's shield can help discordia at any time if she gets in trouble, and he has 2 basic CC abilities for her too.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Jormungandr Poor synergy
Really bad pair. Consuming Below is probably the only tool Discordia can take usage of, and if she gets picked up out of position there's really nothing jormungandr can do.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Khepri Good synergy
Khepri's root and pull are really good paired with discordia's skills. Also, Scarab's Blessing is DOPE.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Kumbhakarna Amazing synergy
Mighty Yawn into Discordia is insanely good, just as Epic Uppercut and Groggy Strike. Really good pair.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Kuzenbo Average synergy
Sumo Slam can help discordia. And that's it.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Sobek Average synergy
He can knock back a single enemy and pick it for discordia to kill it, but he can't do much more for her.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Sylvanus Good synergy
Still nothing that discordia can really abuse from, but he has good cc and can save her.
Good pair, but there are better ones yet.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Terra Good synergy
All her walls can be a counter to discordia's ultimate, but Monolith brings a lot to the table, and Terra's Blessing can either save discordia or help her kill enemies.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Xing Tian Amazing synergy
All his abilities can do a big favour to discordia. Mostly his ultimate, which makes him one of the best combos for Discordia.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Ymir Good synergy
Frost Breath is really useful, and his insane slows aren't too much of an useful tool, but the good synergy comes in with Ice Wall When used correctly.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
In the early game, discordia should be agressive. Start fights, but always clear your minions first. Only 438 base HP can be a trouble if fighting with alive enemy archers, so focus on the last hits and then hit 'em.
You can't win the early game against Sol, Zeus, The Morrigan, Freya, Eset, Anubis and Hel, but you can do it with the rest of the mages. If the enemy mid laner is an ADC, just stay out of range. You will get easily killed!
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
In mid game, you should be a little bit less agressive, but still not be afraid to take a fight. The goddess already has like 9-10-11 levels on, which means Unruly Magic should already be hitting people for between 350 and 400 damage.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
When killing objectives, you should first throw your 1 and 2 combo and then land your 3 in a safe place (Not looking to the enemy side of the map) and start spamming your abilities. You can't use Golden Apple of Discord On objectives, it will just apply the low part of the damage and bounce off.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
In the late and end game, you should just be killing people as if they were minions with your combo and ultimate. Discordia's lategame is pretty much almost uncomparable with the ablity to do normal mage damage but at least 3 times inside her Erratic Behavior!
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
In teamfights your role is to use strife correctly to give an advantage to your team and to you. Use your abilities as much as you can, and stay far away from the enemy.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
i hope you enjoy and make good use of my guide for Discordia, sorry if my english is bad, i'm from Uruguay. Have a good day, night or whateva :)

3000 gold. Also early game that extra ability won't be worth much damage, and it's tied to your ult cooldown. Not worth early at all. I can only see use with double 3 early game, but by rushing bancroft's you don't have much CDR so it's pretty pointless. Also bancrofts isn't even that good on Disco, get Soul Gem on her.
Yes, it costs 3000 gold. The same as rushing Rod of Tahuti and 200 more gold than Chronos Pendant.
Being a mid laner implies farming like a b, non stop. Getting an item between 2500 to 3000 its not a huge difference. (Keep that the item is still expensive, i know, but i'm not asking to build Doom Orb first item).
Getting this item early is perfectly accurate to my view. With a good (or even a decent initiator) support / jungler / solo, and if you get strife twice, its perfect for a double kill and gold fury kill, since discordia's kit when not super ahead can't really 1 shot in EARLY to MID game (scalings are kinda frustrating).
But to the point, you don't need CDR ALWAYS. You have your leap. That should be kinda enough. But also, you have Chronos pendant in like, 5 builds? I'm not sure.. But however. When i'll be able to use this build i'll adapt my guide to all points of view.
Closing the comment, you'll always have to sacrifice a stat to get other. If you get CDR, maybe you don't get lifesteal, or MP5, or if you get a lot of power, you lack defense, or CDR, or sustain. You know? If you want huge damage, just let go some of your CDR... you have Erratic Behavior.
I REPEAT, i haven't played any smite for a few weeks. No reworked nike, no Staff of Myrddin, no Fail-Not however. I haven't played this item in any build. Maybe it doesn't works, maybe it does.
The most obvious case here is Chronos' Pendant. Other than power, it's almost a pure CDR item (it has some MP5 as well, but that's slightly a side stat). But Soul Gem has lifesteal, burst potential and CDR. Spear of Desolation has flat pen. Mantle of Discord is a popular late-game pickup for mage survivability, and has high dual protections and that situational stun.
One thing I will point out with Discordia, in my own experience, is contrary to you saying you don't always need CDR. With Discordia, she's at her best when she's able to spam her abilities. Different mages play differently, and have different burst potential. Most really appreciate CDR, but you might get less on someone like Anubis or Scylla because a lot of times, they're all-in, blow someone up, and reset. But with Discordia, she's got such easy long-range poke (that also comes with extremely functional CC) that she can just keep blasting from range. To me, CDR is ESSENTIAL for Discordia.
Common misconception. After boots (ideally pen boots) it isn't. The damage is meagre sure but it's decent for early lane sustain. It's especially decent in joust after boots. Is it better later in the build? Yes. Is it terrible early? No.
So it's bancrofts, but it gives you better power.
Soul Gem's passive without power can't really work as first item. I'd get it after penetration, which is my second item always (Without counting blessing)
In your Myrddin build, you're getting Bancroft's Talon, Shoes of the Magi, then Staff of Myrddin. Although you get a bit of mana from Bancroft's (which is STILL not an item I'd recommend on her, as I'd previously commented), you don't get any from Shoes or Myrddin, and the Blessing isn't enough to supplement your mana needs.
3000 gold is just a ton early game, and for an item to be worth it at that price, it needs to fill a major need. At least when you rush Chronos, you get some MP5. Or you can go Thoth and mostly never worry about mana.
Yes, your first 3 items can allow you to deal some good early damage, you may or may not even have the mana at the point you ult to carry out the full combo.
It's also not about which level you're at when you build it that makes it early. It's the position of the item in the build. Item 3 is early for a luxury item that has no pen, no mana, no MP5, etc. Also, with Bancroft's and Shoes, getting Myrddin 3rd would NOT be level 6-7, what? Your level is going to be more like 13-14.
I can potentially see Myrddin 3rd for like...Arena. Or Duel or something. But not so much in Conquest.
Yes, the build has no MP5 until selling boots for Rod of Tahuti. It doesn't really matter. Mage's Blessing looks like garbage, but gives fair mana sustain (and discordia has fair mana costs too).
To the point; I see potential in this item in the early game. Its an incredible damage boost that the earlier you get it the most snowballing potential you obtain.
About Bancroft's Talon:
Sustain. Good on all mages except for healers (And i think [[Aphrodite's and Hel's potential with this item is still stupid).
If you see this item's performance inside Assault or Arena, its HUGE. Lifesteal its okay and Power its what she needs. Why not? It doesn't gives you mana sustain, i know, but search it on another items... You have 6 gaps for items, just get bancrofts and chronos pendant if you feel like it.
The conclusion is that I wanted to take a risk sacrificing mana sustain (SOME) for a big power spike. No clue how this build works until my PC works again, but i have faith in it.
>"If you see this item's performance inside Assault or Arena, its HUGE."
Arena is filled with players that don't know how to counterbuild. They can't even counter a Hel/Aphro without bancrofts, let alone with.
And i can't fight you in duel since i don't like it or play it almost at all.
It was this stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/457622581
Uh, what? How are the chances of hitting it twice very low?
If you choose Thoth, then you're basically agreeing to a slower early game, with payoff in the late game due to the huge mana pool.
Magi/Focus, Thoth, Deso, Chronos, Reaver, Ob Shard + Tahuti.
Pen Shoes is still more damage.
Anyways get any shoe you want, i don't really care. I don't like Book of Thoth.
I also don't particularly like Spear of the Magus on her, but as it's not in an example build, I guess I'm fine with it being listed as a possibility. Kriega below mentioned Wlfy picking it up once in SPL last season, but we'd note that that was before a minor nerf (dropped 5 pen), and only once isn't representative of it being a good pickup in general.
I also don't like Gem of Isolation on her, even before the nerf in the latest patch. Would suggest not even mentioning it.
In place of Soul Gem, Pythagorem's Piece should also be an option.
I mentioned recently on a Discordia arena build that I don't think Bancroft's Talon is an optimal lifesteal item for her in most situations, because she's a long distance nuker and isn't usually looking to mix it up. In pretty much every situation my go-to start and first 2/3 items would be your "start 1" option.
Another important start would be against healing, in which case, you might want to consider a deeper writeup on your situational items, especially Divine Ruin, as that would be a key early pickup.
As an FYI, you could switch your level 7 and level 8 ability leveling, which is how I would level in most situations.
Although you can hit all the secondary orbs on an enemy, they have to be pretty much right in the middle of the cast, which I think almost never happens, and as such, not sure I'd mention that in the writeup because of the unlikeliness. Wouldn't want to get readers' hopes up XD Also, in the writeup for this ability and/or Strife, you might mention it being used as a combo.
With Erratic Behavior, even though it's not a good distance escape, it DOES give you immunity frames and can be very useful in that respect. It would be good to mention, IMO.
In your playstyle section, early-game you might mention trying to line up the enemy god for a Strife hit, comboing into Unruly Magic (through the minion wave and hitting the enemy god rooted by Strife).
Mid-game in your standard build you have Chronos' Pendant. I feel you should keep your aggression up very highly...you can spam your abilities and can constantly poke the enemy, making them back off and play defensively...can make them lose out on farm.
You mention on killing objectives throwing your "1 and 2 combo" which is the only area you mention comboing...again, as any Discordia player knows, it's 2-1 for fighting, but whatever order is fine for objectives...just feel again you should talk a bit more about the standard combo for fighting.
Overall, though, you've got some pretty decent info. Just things you can consider adding/adjusting.
yes, i don't really like Gem of Isolation and i never did not even before the nerf, but well... There aren't really a lot of items to get. As discordia, you don't really need defense, but you can get Spirit Robe or Breastplate of Valor, which can be an option but i mention again that discordia has a huge advantage from other mages which is range. So you can just add Pythagorem's Piece to your build instead.
Yeah, mid game is good as Discordia, but you shouldn't be looking to fight that much as you should in early game... like earlygame you should always go for agression on every wave, but mid game just focus on farming and getting big, as you also fight and gank duo lane.
Yeah, the 1 and 2 combo was a little mistake lol, but it doesn't really matter on objectives since the root can't apply.
Erratic Behavior is a good ability for juking, not for escaping. You can juke Rain Fire, Tidal Surge or even Crushing Wave. But in terms of leaping, it must be the shortest leap competing with camazotz's Devour (Even though these are utility dashes).
Thank you very much for commenting!
i don't like it though. read the notes in that part of the build
