This is an Eset that can play pretty much any role except support but with a few item swaps I'm sure it would be possible! I got inspiration from TheRealShoey YouTube channel Christmas build from 2015 and I liked it so much i thought i'd tweak a few things and show off his channel a bit! Enjoy the guide!
Gains damage as it travels and is a able to self detonate by activating the ability again. Stuns when detonated and deals magic damage. |
Silences any enemies in the AoE, causes them to lose portions of their magical protection, and slows. Allies affected by Funeral Rights gain Magical Protection. |
Plants staff in AoE. Allies in range take reduced damage and damaged caused to enemies cause the staff to gain power. Activate again to explode causing damage to enemies and healing allies. |
Shares additional HP5 and MP5 with nearby allies. Each death witnessed (Enemy or Allie) gains stacks which reset on death. |
So you have pretty much 2 options for the start:
This start is pretty much a staple for a lot of magi. This start allows you to take Healing Potion and Mana Potion so you get a little more sustain early game. The first item you build will obviously be Shoes of the Magi as you already have the Shoes for it. |
soul reliquary | This start is my favorite in the game. By rush building Book of Thoth you get access to crazy amounts of mana early game, a lot more magical power early game, and even more mana regeneration. You will be crazy squishy with next to no sustain at all as this start takes all 1500 of your starting gold. You will, however, be an early game "glass cannon" as you will probably be ahead of your opponent's mid laner/solo and will have the jump on getting more power late game. If you do go with this start I would drop warlock's sash or Chronos' Pendant as you need Rod of Tahuti for all of its power, Obsidian Shard for its penetration, Shoes of the Magi for its speed increase, and Bancroft's Talon for its lifesteal since you are squishy. |
Awesome starter and needs to be sold before the team fight stage so you can make room for Rod of Tahuti. |
One of the obvious selections. Adds Magical Penetration, Magical Power, and Movement Speed so it's a pretty great choice for speedy magi like Eset. Not on the super expensive side, but not exactly cheap, it's still one of the first 3 items you should have by mid-game. |
warlock's sash | Again. Obvious for most magi. Increases Magical Power, Mana, and Health and I think should be the second, if not the first item to have done by mid-game. It's stacks increase by 1 for minion kills and 5 for God kills. Every stack increases Health and Magical Power. |
Good if you don't want Rod of Tahuti. Pop Wing Gust, Circle of Protection, and Spirit Ball and pretty much clean everything. Hits stun enemies making escapes even easier and allows you to either make team fights super easy, or to make single fights a breeze. I'd run it over the Bancroft's Talon if you really feel like it cause it is hard to argue against this item. |
In case you need something top stop you from getting tanked on or melted. Really only needed if you just cant get past a tanky opponent or are absolutely getting melted. |
Huge CDR so spamming Wing Gust becomes easy kills and escapes. Also makes your Circle of Protection support a little more frequent. |
Increases Magical Penetration by a large percent so it is easy to see why this item is used so often by Magical damage dealers. |
This is my favorite item for magi. It gives a huge mana buff in the early game if you rush build it with the Vampiric Shroud + soul reliquary start which you can find in the starter section of the guide. |
purification | So as a mid/solo you want to make sure you have escapes and mobility at all times. This is especially true for more squishy goddesses like Eset. Take purification if you see they have Fenrir carry, Hades slow+pull combo, Ares pull, etc. |
sanctuary | Another awesome relic, sanctuary is great in a capable player's hands as it does require good timing to use correctly. Pop it too early and you take a full hit, pop it too late and you probably wasted the invincibility. Another choice against Hades but I would definitely take this against a Poseidon as the Release The Kraken! combo is extremely painful late game. |
sprint | A pretty clutch item for mid laners and solos as it makes for amazing escapes or chases and can even help your team to get away or chase with you. |
meditation | I almost always take meditation + purification on every build of every god I play. I love the health, which has allowed me to escape MANY fights where i definitely would have died and the mana has allowed me to finish off many enemies. So I really can't argue against using meditation but I can see why taking sanctuary + purification would be a better deal. |
This is the core for the Vampiric Shroud + Shoes start:
Shoes of the Magi is a great start for laning with Eset as it gives her the movement speed to get in and out of lane if needed, gives her a nice boost to magical power, and the all important magical penetration. |
warlock's sash | The very next item to pick up has got to be warlock's sash so you can start building stacks on it as soon as possible. Each stack increases your magical power and health, while the base benefits are a huge buff to health and mana as well as a +50 to your overall power. The movement speed buff from Shoes of the Magi is the only reason I say to build this second. |
The 3rd item for this core is Chronos' Pendant. This thing is amazing. Provides a 20% passive cooldown to all of your abilities while increasing your MP5 and magical power! Perfect fit for Eset. |
So now the Shoes of the Magi are going to come second. You really need the movement speed and like I said in the above section, the bonuses are absolutely needed! |
Much needed lifesteal for a squishy mage. Really helps with boxing if you're going to be taking her into a solo or mid lane. As you get lower in health you gain additional magical power. |
This is going to give you even more penetration and power. Like I said above, this thing is great for the penetration buff and even more power. You could use Obsidian Shard but for an ability based goddess like Eset, she can activate Spear of the Magus passive more often which makes this a better choice. |
Like before, this thing provides amazing CDR as well as power and MP5. |
The staple. Rod of Tahuti is a main stay on all magic dealers. Ridiculous 125+ buff to your power as well as a nice little MP5 boost. The real kicker is the 33% flat increase to your magical power! Should always be on every build you make with magical damage dealers!! |
Never a bad thing to have. Makes cleaning up fleeing enemies 1000 times easier. Take it if you have room and aren't really worried about CDR so Chronos' Pendant wouldn't be a bad switch. |
This is great if you're taking on a hunter in lane. Big defensive buff, +200 mana, and deals back basic attack damage to your opponent when hit. |
Increases health and physical protection. If you are in duo, your support won't be mad that you have this. Makes a great item for the team fight stage as well! |
Never a bad option to have. Increased magical protection and pops a shield for you when your health drops below a certain threshold. |
Reduces magical protection on enemies within a radius and increases your own protection as well as power! Amazing item for magical damage dealers that want more survivability. |
Like I said, you can play this as a mid, solo, or duo so depending on your role you may have to change a few things up. I recommend having a support with you early game and allow it to sponge while you level up to get a little tankier to survive on your own.
Pretty much when you see a team fight, jump in that!!! Should be able to clean up a lot of enemies/minions at almost any level.
Just make sure you are communicating and always helping your team!

Hi. Good classic build (I dont see anything bad in this, cause most newbie players use ****ty builds).
The only thing that I cant agree with - meditation. It is garbage for mid mage. Just dont spam ur abilities when there is no need to. 1-4 mana pots is enough for all game. Chronos helps u to manage with mana. Relics like purification and invulnerability are much better. U must choose forst depending on ur enemy. For example if u r against fenrir take purification. Against poseidon+nemesis take invulnerability
Very good ideas! I'll be updating with that information very soon! Like it says in my bio, I'm still learning and want people to be able to learn with me! Thanks for the advice! :)
