Introduction

What's up guys, Stuke here and I've got a new guide for you.

I know it's been a long while since I released a new guide, but I feel it was worth the wait. So, for this new installment in my Warrior Series, we'll be looking at the Mayan pantheon's first warrior with the power of torrents at his command. I bring you Chacc, the God of Rain.
Note: you don't have to follow this guide to the smallest detail, these are suggestions on how to play Chacc. I encourage you to look at the comment section below and see other suggestions.

Who is Chaac?

Chaac is a Physical, Melee, Warrior that is a very good and safe solo lane pick because of his ability to sustain in both health and in mana. If used correctly, Chaac can be a serious threat to anyone who has underestimated him.

Pros / Cons

Pros
  • High area damage
  • Great Health and Mana Management
  • CC Machine

Cons
  • Loses Damage in Late Game
  • Must Build Up Passive to Keep Mana
  • Anti-Heal is his Downfall

Abilities

This is how Chaac keeps his place as the Solo King. After a set number of basic attacks, your next ability will cost no mana when used, but will only work for one ability and must be recharged to get it to work again. I like to use this passive with his third ability as it keeps me in the lane longer than most gods in the game.
Chaac throws his ax and it deals damage in an area of where it was tossed, but there's a catch. After throwing your ax and lands in the ground, your second and third ability will be focused on the point where the ax was thrown.
Chaac takes his ax and spins in around himself dealing AoE damage, every enemy hit by this ability gives Chaac protections up to a certain number. If used after your ax is thrown then you teleport to it, dealing based damage to every enemy passed through, and then the rest of the ability goes off. It's nice to use as a gank tool or escape (I will explain it in the Tips and Combos section).
Activating this ability gives you healing over time and an AoE slow that follows you for the duration. After throwing your ax, the area where it landed also gets an even larger AoE slow. Both the slow from you and your ax location can stack on top of each other so use this wisely.
With a short wind up, Chaac activates a large radius knock-up and silence that also deals damage. During the channeling of this ability, Chaac also gets damage mitigation and CC immune before coming back down.

Items to Consider

Chaac is an Ability-based Warrior, but here's where it gets strange for him. With the way his passive is set up, Chaac could also go for a Hybrid build. It is more recommended that you just stick with Ability for the Early Game power and becoming a tanky CC machine for the Late Game, if you want to go Hybrid then get your build set up for your high ability damage in the Early Game then buy some AA items for the Late. Here is a selection of items that can synergize with Chaac that could be a nice addition to your build.

shield of regrowth
While Chaac has a slow in his 3, he lacks mobility and a way to close the gap if the enemy gets away. With this item, those worries about being too slow are in the past. Now Chaac can keep up with his targets and keep applying crowd control to the enemy.

Tips, Tricks, & Combos

  • Torrent Misdirection
If you're being chased by an enemy that you can't fight against or low on health, throw your ax, run in a different direction, and teleport to it to distance yourself from your enemy.
  • Auto Weaving
His passive is his greatest tool to sustain. Make sure you throw in some autos between abilities to get that passive charged to keep yourself from wasting mana to bully your opponent or healing yourself.

The standard combo that can get you into or out of a fight, depending on how you use it.
If you're in need for sustain and to create a bit of control, this combo is for you. Use the slow from Rain Dance to engage on a target or set up for a teamfight.
Ultimate Combo
This combo allows you to get in, deal tons of damage and provide control for you or your team during a team fight.

Stages of the Game

Early Game
Chaac is at his most powerful during this stage, his opponents cannot fight back since they will have a hard time keeping up with Chaac's ability to keep his health and mana properly sustained longer than any other god in the game as of right now.
Middle Game
A Stalemate stage for Chaac. Just survive the lane and push up on them to keep the pressure high.
Late Game
After dealing enough damage to your lane, roam the map and become the teams CC Machine alongside the support.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Chaac is the undying bully whose presence can change the way a fight goes down or the undisputed King of the Solo Lane. Weave in Autos to keep that mana up and the proper uses of the ax in conjunction with his other abilities for interesting effects in a fight and remember who makes it rain on the battleground.

Why Chalice of Mana when Chaac can cast abilities without using mana with his passive? And also seeing as you're getting Breastplate of Valor second item?

(And you're likely to have the mana buff)

Chalice of Healing will give him much better sustain early. He won't level Rain Dance past level 1 in the early game, as he needs to focus on Thunder Strike, so his personal healing won't be all that good. Between stacking Overflow and the mana buff, he should have all the mana he needs.

Just an FYI: both of the Rain Dance slows will stack on each other, so watch out for diminishing returns.

Good build, Stuke.
