Introduction

Hello Everyone, this is my Second Guide on Smitefire, in this one i will be Talking about Tyr The LAAWW Giver !! From the title...this is a Deep Guide, it's Kinda long, feel Free to skip to any Part, i will Try not to keep Them connected to each others so you don't have to read it all if you don't want to, Let's Get right into it !!

Who is Tyr ?

Tyr is the Law Giver, the one Handed Law Giver... Tyr is one of the best Warriors in smite, he is unstoppable, he Can't die, he got a nice team Push, Basically he is a ONE "HAND" ARMY!!
Tyr is a Switch Stances god, if you haven't played Hel, Ullr, or Maybe Fafnir that means you are New to Switch Stances, Switch Stances is Basically Having 5-6 Abilities instead of 4 and More than 1 Passive, BUT, they Require some REAL control !! so it's something for something...
Tyr has 5 Abilities and 2 Passives, in each stance he has 2 abilities Besides the Ultimate, when he switch stances his 2 abilities Changes, with a whole Different Cooldowns, which makes him really hard to counter, since he can switch stances and Have 2 other abilities while his other stance abilities are on Cooldown, it looks Complicated in words, but very simple in Work !!

Pros / Cons

Nature's Protection -Can't die
-One of the Best 1v5's
-5 abilities with 2 passives
-Great Pusher
-High Mobility
-really Tanky Late game
-High Damage Early to mid game ( can be to late game if built for Damage )
-Really fun to play
-Has one The best voice lines in the game !!
-has High CC
-Can't be Stunned, Feared, mesmerized, and Intoxicated for more than 1 second!!

-Needs Control
-Cripple and Silence are your Worst enemies
-when your Abilities are on cooldown you can't do anything
-His abilities are not easy to hit Especially his Fearless
-Mistakes can't be forgiven In Tyr, try not to Miss !!

So as you noticed his Pros are waaaaaaayyy more than his Cons, no reason NOT to play this Guy !!

Abilities

Passive:

Stuns, Taunts, Fears, Intoxicate, and Mesmerize cannot affect Tyr for longer than 1s. Crowd control reduction stacks with this passive.

First ability:
Assault Stance: Tyr pushes all enemies along with him, hitting them 2 times and knocking them up in the air.

Guard Stance: Tyr hits each enemy only once, passing through them.
Damage per Hit: 40/90/140/190/240 (+50% of your physical power)

Second Ability :
Tyr makes a massive melee attack, hitting all enemies within a 180 degree cone.
Assault Stance: Enemies that are knocked up in the air are knocked away.

Guard Stance: Tyr heals twice for the first enemy hit, and once for each additional enemy (max 3).
Damage: 80/115/150/185/220 (+65% of your physical power) / Healing: 25/45/65/85/105 Per Hit

Third Ability :
Tyr changes between Assault and Guard stances. Changing stances refreshes the cooldown on Fearless and Power Cleave.
Assault Stance: Gain Physical Power.
Guard Stance: Gain Protections.
Assault Stance: 10/20/30/40/50 Physical Power/Defense Stance: 10/20/30/40/50 Protections

Forth Ability :
Tyr leaps through the air, bringing indiscriminate justice upon all enemies in the target area, and slowing them.
Damage: 150/225/300/375/450 (+120% of your physical power)/Slow: 25% for 3s

Items

Bluestone Pendant is a GREAT item on Tyr, and any ability-based god, it gives Mana, and Damage over Time (DoT) after using an ability, its really good for your minions' Clear as well.
Of course you OBVIOUSLY need boots, now..as Tyr you don't need Ninja Tabi you are not Basic attack based soo...yeah. you can get Reinforced Greaves for more Tankyness, but...Meeh
Jotunn's Wrath is the BEST Pen Item for Any ability Based god, 20% CDR, Mana, Power, and Pen...Nothing much to say. MUST HAVE ITEM
Another Great Item for Warriors, Especially ability based, same reason for Jotunn's Wrath except that this gives Physical Protection instead of Pen, Which is Great for solo Lain, Because mostly they will be playing Warrior / Assassin, which are Physical.
Same thing as Breastplate of Valor but it's only 10% CDR, and no Mana, only magical Protection...Why do i need this ??
Yet another Great item for ANY physical god, i Actually Try to use it ON ALL THE PHYSICAL GODS, especially with who has Heals ( Mostly all warriors ). it gives 126 Power JUST from it's Mana, With Bluestone Pendant, Breastplate of Valor, Jotunn's Wrath it Gives A LOT, Besides the Infinite Mana That Gives, For someone like Tyr who has 400 Heal in his Power Cleave this is amazing, Very recommended in Duel.
If you want to Go FULL Damage Tyr ( Which really works ) this is really recommended.
If you are going in Arena, Clash, or any other mode This is a really good item for all warriors.
it has been buffed in the last Patch, it has 2 Passives now that are PERFECT for any ability based god, especially who Can do some "Auto Attack Cancellation" Between their combos, like Susano, it works with Tyr as well, but it Requiems Timing and most Important...PING !! Yes...You need a good Ping for this one.
This is the last piece you need To Finish your Normal Warrior Build...something in between Damage and Tanky, you add this to the collection. VOALAAAA !!

Items [In-Depth]

Okay now as you know, Warriors have something from everything, they can be assassins, Tanks, Pushers, Front-line Guys, It really Depends on Their abilities. PLayStyles and most important, Their Builds.
Tyr is The same thing, he can be used as you build him.

First Build : Warrior Build!!

for this build you want to be a PUSHER, you start with Bluestone Pendant, like any other ability based god, Boots with 4 Healing Potions and 4 Mana Potions, this is the Starter for most of your builds, on the First back you Finish your Warrior's tabi and stat building Jotunn's Wrath, CDR is the MOST important Element when Building Tyr Besides the Pen you get from Jotunn's, after that you have 2 Choices, if you are in Lain ( usually Solo ) you are probably against another Physical God, so you buy Breastplate of Valor of course the main Reason is the CDR After that you buy Hide of the Urchin it's a great item for warriors in General, if you are in Arena, Clash, or any team fights mode, you can buy Hide of the Urchin then you buy Breastplate of Valor unless all the Enemies' team is Magical ( somehow ) you buy Genji's Guard and Bulwark of Hope, so if you are in Lead, you are ahead in XP or money you can go Titan's Bane for more damage and finish with any item of your choice, then you buy Mantle of Discord For even more Tankyness and makes you Survive a lot of Sticky Situations.

Second Build : Damage Build!

This is basically the "Carrier" Build, you have to be Aggressive early game so this Can work, you Start the same thing ( Bluestone Pendant, Boots with 4 Healing Potions and 4 Mana Potions ) Try to Secure Some kills in Early game ( and yes Secure means kind Steal ) cuz you are going to be the Carry Man !! you should be Happy :D
anyway then you buy These items Jotunn's Wrath >> Titan's Bane >> Brawler's Beat Stick >> Hydra's Lament for CDR and finishing Basic, you can also Start with Transcendence instead of Blue Stone for more Power and Unlimited Mana on full stacks, if you don't like Trans or all your team is stacking then go for blue stone and switch it for any other Item late game, this build is so Powerful especially if you are in a lead early game, you have no IDEA!!

Third Build : Very Tanky Build!

Tyr's Change Stance Gives him 10/20/30/40/50 Power in his Assault Stance and 10/20/30/40/50 Phys/Magical Protections in Guard stance so Basically if you want to be Tanky, Max your 3 Change Stance First !! and switch to Guard Stance.
anyway the build should look like this :
Reinforced Greaves >> Breastplate of Valor if most of them are physical or Genji's Guard if Magical >> Hide of the Urchin >> Spirit Robe >> Bulwark of Hope for the Passive and finish off with Mantle of Discord this is realllllly Tanky build, especially if you are on your Guard Stance.

Combos

Okay for the Best Part, THE COMMBOOOSSS !!
So, his Combos are Pretty simple, Requires only one thing, Positioning!!
if you Noticed, Tyr's Fearless is a Push in Assault Stance, This Push is what makes Tyr Special, This only one ability is why he is Rated as "High CC", so Basically he Pushes any enemy inFront of him, also he knocks them up, which means you can also use your Power Cleave after you knock them up, This will also Knock them back, which will allow you to hit one or 2 basic attacks even if they had their leap or dash, if they didn't have any escape then you can Keep hitting them with basics so...

1, 2, AA >> Fearless, Power Cleave, Auto attack(s)

This combo should do TONS of Damage mostly all squishy Gods in early game, without any Power item, yup...
okay next combo is the 100 to 0, basically this is for all mages, Hunters, assassins especially early game, and late game if you are going damage Tyr.

in Assault stance : 1, 2, AA, SS, 2, 1, Basics>> Fearless, Power Cleave, AA, Change Stance, Power Cleave, Fearless, AAs

This combo is sooo deadly especially if you are building Pen, but keep in mind, all the players will use all they got to escape after your Fearless so you have to time your attack, use this combo when they use their escape abilities ( if they have any ) like Neith's Back Flip or Rama's Rolling Assault...etc
you can also use the same combo with your ult, so it will be something like :

in Assault stance: 4, 1, 2, AA, SS, 2, 1, Basics >> Lawbringer Fearless, Power Cleave, AA, Change Stance, Power Cleave, Fearless, AAs

this should be 100% kill on any Hunter/Assassin/mage.

Okay now, The Next Combos are Kinda Situational, and Requires Low Ping and some skills
Sneaky Push

Guard Stance Combo

Through 'em

Gameplay

As I've noticed From playing Tyr Even more, He is not made to be Tanky, Tyr Is made to Do Damage He is made to KILL! But of course you Don't Have to build full Power, you need 2-3 Offensive Items, and 3-4 Protections, Don't go Full Tanky Build, Unless you are the TANK, Probably everyone insta-locked Mages and Hunters.
So i will assume that you are going Warrior Build which is something in between Damage and Protection.

Early Game

Your First 5 Minutes are Kinda WEAK, you can Do a really good amount of Damage to Mages, assassins, and Hunters, Still you are not TANKY enough to Dive and do such stuff so be careful, Use the enemy attacks As an Advantage by "Moving" Them and Splitting their Team, Tyr Relays on Positioning The right Push Wins the battle.
Play Passive and once you see a mage or an assassin on Low HP, it's your chance beby.

Mid Game

Here when Tyr Shines, you Are so strong at this Time, you Can get a lot of Kills or Good pushes for your team at this time, especially against Mages, i recommend being aggressive at this time, Use Blink / Ultimate To get people in Towers or just push them to your team, and Play smart.

Late Game

Here where Tyr Gets really Fun, Not as killing machine, as an impossible to die Annoying Really Fun spamming Abilities Machine, you probably got 40% CDR, good amount of mana, 400 Heal for a reallly short Cooldown, your Damage is annoying, you have more protection than any other Warrior, You can EASILY Dive towers and Pheonixes, Make sure you have your team on your side, you don't want to waste your 1v5 after all .

Tips and Tricks

Some are Obvious and some are Helpful, Enjoy!

-Try not to Be obvious when you want to use your Fearless if the enemy is looking at you, maybe you can trick, make them think that you are attacking the minions, then suddenly you QUICKLY turn at them and push them.
it's like seeing Ares is Walking toward you without attacking, Obviously he Pressed 4 and looking to Grab you all.

-Try to attack the minions with the gods if you are against a melee God, of course in Solo most of them are Warriors / Assassins, so they have to get close to minions, what do you do is you poke each minion to lets say 60% of their HP, don't finish each minion alone, finish half of them all , so when the enemy comes to finish his wave, you use your Fearless, Power Cleave combo to attack the god and you will finish the whole wave.

-If you're playing solo lane conquest you want to be leveling Power Cleave over Fearless, for the sustain it gives you through the major heals. -CakeSlapping

-IF you use Blink / Lawbringer to get behind the enemy and push them to your tower, always make sure to do it quickly, once you blink / Ult use your Fearless don't Give them The Chance to understand what is happening so they don't escape or Juke you, this really needs Practice and Good reflection.

-Don't use Auto attack after your Fearless, instead you use it after your Power Cleave, it's really Faster

-of course when Diving Tower always use your Guard Stance for more Protection

-You Actually can Cancel a lot of Leaps and attacks with your Fearless, examples:
Fenrir's Unchained, or Bellona's Bludgeon, but you can't cancel Fast Leap, like Ullr's Glory Bound.

-When in Conquest, and if you are going for your blue, and your solo Enemy is missing don't use your Fearless to start when attacking the camp, leave it as a finisher, so if they attacked you while you are taking your blue, you just use your Fearless and Power Cleave to attack them and secure your Buff.

-in Assault stance, your Fearless Hits 2 times, so you have to make sure you are close to them when using it, if you are far, then you will only hit them once or maybe you won't hit at all, it has an Animation so it's not instant.

-you actually can push people Behind you once they are besides you if anyone is following you, you can Suddenly just stop or maybe move Backwards until they become Besides you and you use your Fearless to push them or maybe even finish them.

Hey nik,

I think this is a pretty solid guide...I've just been quick-reviewing guides for the SMITEFIRE Needs Help list, and am adding your guide.

Not really going in-depth on the builds right now, but if I can remember, I'll revisit and provide further feedback I might (or might not) have.

Nice guide, well thought out, but I have A note to add about your skill levelling, depending on game mode.

If you're playing solo lane conquest you want to be levelling power cleave over fearless, for the sustain it gives you through the major heals.

Without a bigger heal from a levelled power cleave your opponent will have a much easier time poking you out of lane/under tower, as you won't be able to heal as much of the damage you take. It will also give you the freedom to play much more aggressive in lane, as you will be able to heal up any minion agg you take easily. You'll also be able to shrug off gank attempts fairly easily when you can heal upwards of 400 in one go.

In any other mode, or when playing jungle, fearless is OK to max first as it gives you higher damage vs gods than cleave does, but in conquest solo lane you want cleave maxed first for the lane sustain.

Nice guide, though a bit wall-of-texty.

Also, with Tyr's third ability, it does not refresh the cooldowns. I think you meant that the cooldowns from either stance is tracked seperately, meaning that your Assault stance could have Fearless ready, while Guard stance has it on 3 seconds cooldown, for example. May want to correct that as it can cause a ton of confusion.

Also with the third ability, you say:
Quoted:
His Third Ability Called Tyr

"Called Tyr". The ability is not called Tyr, I think you may have accidentally dropped a word there. :P

I think you may have overestimated Tyr's 1+2 combo. 60% to 0% squishies in the early game? I think that is quite over-the-top. I'd say that happens more towards the mid to late game.

Other than that, solid looking guide. I'm going to give you a +1. You seem to know a good deal about Tyr, you provide the information in a good way, and the build seems very solid aswell.

Work on the BB-coding, and fix those mistakes I pointed out and you may just have yourself one of the better Tyr guides here on SMITEfire.

WRONG!!

Stance change does reset cooldowns on cleave and fearless. It literally tells you this in the ability description.

Thank you for your Time, First yeah i've noticed that mistake on the "his Third ability is called Tyr, lol, i will fix it, second for the Refresh thing, i Copied it from the Gamepedia, because i will be honest with you, i didn't know what to say about it, and yeah its a bit too much 60 to 0, but i play Tyr a lot and the combo 1+2,AA,SS,2,1 really does TONS of damage i got aloooot of First bloods from this combo, i believe it should be 30 to 0 ?? kinda im not really good with numbers !!
and i really appreciate all what you said <3

No problem.

It seems that the Wiki is confused itself, haha.
And I guess '30-0' is more accurate for the early game. It really depends on the situation and your target though, so you cannot be totally accurate.
