Yes I find smitefire good enough to be acknowledged atleast if not affiliated. It depends on the number of members or the hits the site gets or wat? bcz in quality of discussion and usefulness its pretty good.

A few things

1) It says matt was online January 17th. I guess he does stuff, he just doesn't participate. Probably involves himself in the behind-the-scenes things like managing the actual site.

2) I know Bart knows about it because he mentions it from time to time. Like someone may ask "why did you nerf ____?" and he may say "we feel shes too blah blah blah, people on reddit and smitefire and blah blahblah say such and such". I can't give an exact example, but when talking about the community, he'll mention it every now and then.

3) People don't hate smitefire, but they do hate mobafire, which we're affiliated with. The guides on mobafire are pretty much seen as a horrible, ridiculous joke. No one likes the guides on there.

See? There's not even a joke there. The joke is just mobafire guides are bad. People use Solomid.net and Probuilds.net, not mobafire. It's seen as a joke site.
We're not hated, but as smitefire, a mobafire site, we're kinda affiliated badly.

It's sad, I want mobafire to do well, but you can't really completely fix a set reputation. Ours is, as far as I know, good though.

I've read quite a few high quality guides on MOBAfire, even better than any of the ones we have here. The problem, I think, is that there is no review process before guides are published, so anything goes. Sure, a moderator or admin can un-publish guides, and the voting system theoretically "removes" bad guides, but people see the disproportional amount of guides with effort put into them to guides with no effort whatsoever put into them that leaves us with a negative stigma.

Smite Reddit seems to be, as a majority, against Smitefire. I think this site is great and I think it's judged unfairly, but I can understand why people come to see it as a joke.

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat.
