I Just played a match as sobek and owned the other team hard.
I say ownage because I was soling my lane against a hebo and apollo and I destroyed all of their towers on their side. I guess they underestimate that dirty lil sobek!

Anyways at the end of the match my team mate said "Look at that build"

I then said what about it?
He said "thats not how you build sobek"
I said how do you build him.
He said "not like that"

He told me I had no defense but I did? Or am I ******ed or miss something?
4 out of 6 of my items were defensive items.

I had mark of the vanguard which I didn't get to sell because I was on my last item still.
I had Hid of the NeMean lion for apollo an anhur so they do damage to themselfs.
I had reinforced boots
and I had stone of gaia.

My other two items I got was gem of isolation so I can slow the gods down to kill them off or throw them back.

Then I got Rod of Tahuti only because I was owning them.

But I mean overall I had a decent amount of defense right?
My team mate made it seem as if I build AD which is what he said.

I was going to sell my mark of the vanguard for another defensive item when I got enough gold.

BTW Sobek make them angry awwwww

i find you never really need more then 3-4 tank items on any tank depending on enemy team composition and with sobeks passive you would be fine with 3

Any of you know what items they use in competitive play for sobek. I'm starting to enjoy playing with him when I have to pick a tank. I usually don't like to play tanks as much. If I solo I used to pick hercules now I am starting to pick sobek.

is one of the tankiest gods of the game. His damage is also pretty high for a tank.

Edit: A good damaging, but still tanky build consists of , , , , , and a Situational Item replacing late game.

Everything seems fine except for Gem of Iso. Sobek's abilities are on fairly long cooldowns and two abilities can already help prevent enemies from escaping, so it's highly situational. Also, if you are going to build Rod, I would get Void Stone instead of Gaia for the extra magic power.

i have had something similar with hades. i was owning the mid got 3 kills started roaming. wait chronos is messing with time back to the start.

i picked hades called mid and one of my team mates says: "wait hades is a tank. tank's can't mid. i tell him was building full damage and not going to tank so he calls me useless and wants to see me fail horribly. i tell him that we will see how it goes and i might supperise him.

i go mid against ra, i could tell he didn't play ra much because he went laser first before heal spot. i kill him twice before i hit level 5 and than with my ult and than i take his tower. i ask if im still that useless while he gets dominated in his lane he is salty and says that he will report me if i do anything wrong. i could tell he was a newer player before the match started and i was laughing my *** of i gank his lane get a double kill while he sits in tower and says KS U NOOB, i was still laughing and i ask him how that was a ks because i killed 2 gods and 3/4 of their healt and he says that it was his lane.

the match goes on i got super fed stole fg and a gf while killing everyone and he is still mad about that double kill. saying that he carries us hard and that i am stealing all his kills.

he was 3-7-6 and i was 15-4-5 ( i may be of a bit since this was some time ago) basicly all of our team muted him after telling him he is wrong and that he needs to shut up exept me because i was enjoying his rage we win and he says report hades in all caps. my team says **** of and they reported him and he stayed in chat a bit to rage and i told him to look at who did more player damage, creep damage, tower damage, etc.

i beat him in all and he leaves after i told him that i was laughing my *** of the entire game and that he made my day.

differnce betwean our strories is that ICEN build a good sobek and I build a troll build that some raged massive over.

just felt like sharing that story.

never forget dawngate and never forgive EA. Freia will hunt them for eternity.

that sounds like what I did with Chronos earlier. I build a **** load of movement speed and kept grabbing speed buff and using my 2. I had the entire team afraid to fight, well actually its not that they were afraid its just that they had no way to kill me so they would not even try! I was so damn fast and did so much damage even though I build half of my items for speed that they just gave up after a while chasing me. I was laughing so hard when I see ao kuong sprinting away and I was 4x faster than him even with him sprinting, I was literally turnt sideways while owning him.

Anyways, I hate playing tank role sometimes only because if you TRUELY PLAY A TANK then you TRUELY GET CALLED A NUB even though your the one saving your carries life.

Earlier today I was sobek and I had a **** load of carries on my team. Every team fight my team mates were getting owned so I was trying to take all the damage even if it ment dying because I would rather someone like anhur survive and me die instead.

It annoys the **** out of me how after you save someone they say oh look at you 1-3 you nub.
Then I have to say "ya it should have been your dumb *** who died but I saved you"

Thats why I don't play tanks because when I save people from dying they automaticlly think that since I took the death for them to live that means I'm a feeder???

Well which is it?

Its either you want to die and I get away free, or you get away free and I die?

Now I don't give a ****, I'm not dying for someone else since most people call you a nub when you save them anyways.

When you build a support god like Sobek, Ymir etc it's all about counterbuilding.

but items like Mark, Reinforced, Hide, Void Stone, Wall, Stone Of Gaia, Sovereignety, Bulwark, Mystical Mark, Ethereal Staff, Midas etc is pretty standard :P
