I play it. There's no strict meta, amd explaining it wil ltake a while, but it sounds like it'll be worth it.

DotA games require a lot more patience than Smite - sometimes first blood doesn't happen until 15 minutes into the game (unless a team has Gyro - the master of level 2 kills!)

DONT AUTOATTACK THE CREEP WAVE. Pushing durin the laning phase is actually bad in DotA. If anything, hve them push to your tower. I opens them up to midlane ganks so much more and better than in Smite.

Meta:

Safe Lane: Support and Carry. The support could range from Io, to Jakiro, to even Sven. The carry relies on gold to be a monster late game - experience and levels might as well not exist.

Midlane: anybody who can benefit from freefarm and early ganks. Early mids are heroes like Sniper; other good mids are Rubick, Pudge, Gyrocopter, Lion, Tusk, and Viper. Viper just owns the lane in low-level games, as well as Sniper, so try to take them before your opponent. Usually a semi-carry - a carry that doesn't give a **** about gold, but instead tried to farm as much exp and levels as possible.

Offlane: anybody else that the composition needs, usually an initiator like Magnus, and/or a walking ult, like Enigma or Jakiro (enigma ult = ranged, longer hades ult, with cripple).

It's actually possible to have a 5-carry team that fits the meta squarely, believe it or not.

Then there's Trilanes, and duo mids, and all that ****, which you'll never ecounter until you're at least level 13, let alone having it be done correctly. Same with jungling.

To be fair, I think he was pointing out Invoker as a very hard champion in general. He has 14 spells instead of 4, since he gains a 'buff' on each basic ability, and his ult combines his last three essences to form a new one. I heard he's the best character because of pure flexibility, but knowing how to combine the essences. However, he doesn't have basic abilities, just buffs that enhance his Invoke, but except at max rank it's actually a 22 sec CD at first level, meaning he gets off only a couple spells at a time.

He's soooooo hard.

But yeah, it's still hard as balls.

I love invoker, personally. Only champ I have learned even slightly how to play well. Also, been looking for people to play dota with for a while, so I'm here.

SmiteFire & Smite
