Baba Yaga's Cabin accumulates up to 100 essence over time, when it moves, and if enemy gods get too close. Baba Yaga can approach the Cabin and use this essence to gain evolving item stacks. Items with a low stack count take more energy. If Baba Yaga has no stacking item this essence heals Baba Yaga for 0.8% max health per tick.
Item Stack Cost: [400 / Item Max Stacks] essence
Heal Cost: 4 essence
Simplified Explanation
Baba Yaga's passive is a cabin that will hover near her, following her whenever she gets too far. Players cannot pass through this cabin, but projectiles can.
The cabin will gain essence as time goes on, as it moves (to follow Baba), or when enemies get too close to it. If they get close enough, however, the cabin will get scared and run a short distance away.
This cabin and its essence has 2 purposes: to stack items and to heal Baba Yaga. It can stack ANY items, but something like Charon's Coin takes much more essence (400/8=50 essence for one stack) vs. Warlock's Staff (400/75=5 essence for one stack).
If you are missing HP and there is not enough essence to complete a stack, the cabin will prioritize healing. The cabin will never get close enough to Baba Yaga that you are forced to receive stacks/healing, so you are able to easily avoid it until you have accumulated enough stacks for a Charon's Coin (which would be halfway full).

Baba Yaga throws forward magic imbued with chaotic qualities. The magic will travel in the path of a random shape (Left Corner, Right Corner, Split, or Oval) and leave behind a random magical field on the ground it flew over for 4s. The fields can boost friendly Protections, boost friendly Movement Speed, lower enemy Movement Speed, or Silence enemies.
Damage: 100/150/200/250/300 (+70% of your Magical Power)
Cooldown: 12 seconds
Simplified Explanation
This is Baba Yaga's most unpredictable ability. Luckily for you, you can see both the shape and the effect this ability will have on her passive. If you have it on normal cast, you can also see the shape and effect on the ability itself. It's a little bit harder to tell though.
The shape is very easy to see: It will be a left-facing L, a right-facing L, a Y shape, or an oval shape.
The effect of the ability is more complicated at first, but you will get used to it:
Light blue color + snowflake = slow (enemies).
- Slow: 20/22.5/25/27.5/30% for 1s
White color + wing = increased movement speed (allies).
- Movement Speed: 20/22.5/25/27.5/30% for 1s
Purple color + x = silence (enemies).
Golden color + shield = increased protections (allies).
- Protections: 15/20/25/30/35 for 1s
This ability will remain on the ground for 4s and if an enemy passes through it or stands on it, they will get the negative effect again. The same applies to allies but it will be a positive effect.

Baba Yaga throws together random ingredients to brew a Potion. Each Eye of Newt increases the Potion's Damage by 7.5%. Each Dragon Scale adds a 12.5% slow to enemies hit for 2.5s. Each Wolf Tooth adds a 7.5% Attack Speed slow and Power reduction to enemies hit for 5s. Baba Yaga can store a single Potion in her consumable slot refiring/canceling this ability. She can pull it out at any time to throw it.
Damage: 85/120/155/190/225 (+70% of your Magical Power)
Ingredient Count: 3/3/4/4/5
Cooldown: 14 seconds
Simplified Explanation
Do not stress out about the potion ingredients, you are not going to be actively thinking about which potion to use in what situation...
As stated, you can pocket a Baba potion and it will become a consumable (i.e in the potions slot). You cannot pocket a Baba potion if you have the consumable slot filled with potions, wards, etc. So that is something to be mindful of.
Once you pocket a Baba potion the ability will go on cooldown, so you are able to use 2 potions consecutively. Additionally, the consumable potion will have different colors depending on what ingredient it is primarily composed of - red (damage), blue (slow), green (attack speed reduction).
It is helpful to know that you can have Baba's potion out and use other abilities at the same time. For example, you can be holding her potion and use her 1, 3, and ultimate and it will still be out and ready to be used by the end of it. It will not remain out if you select it and then use her consumable, though. Instead, it will go on cooldown and become a consumable that can then be used right after.

Baba Yaga crawls inside her Mortar for protection. While inside the mortar she gains Damage Mitigation, Knockup Protection, and begins to build up explosive magic. After 1s the magic explodes, launching Baba Yaga and her Mortar in the direction she is facing. Enemies near the Mortar when it explodes take damage.
Damage: 80/125/170/215/260 (+85% of your Magical Power)
Damage Mitigation: 25/27.5/30/32.5/35%
Cooldown: 14 seconds
Simplified Explanation
This is Baba's escape ability but it also does a lot of damage. It's a very unique ability in the way it works, it's very difficult to explain. What I recommend is going into Jungle Practice and using her 3 in multiple different ways to see how it works - you can leap a short distance, long distance, you can move towards enemies and then turn away last second to leap away, etc. Its a very fluid and fun ability imo but its also easy to interrupt because of how long the animation is. Also, it counts as a LEAP so you can be Awilix ulted.
You need to keep in mind that she receives both damage mitigation and knockup immunity as soon as the ability is cast. This is very helpful for something like Cerberus ultimate, you can immune it with her leap instead of beads if you are fast enough.

Baba Yaga calls down her Cabin, causing it to crash onto her and launch nearby enemies away. Baba Yaga commands the cabin for up to 8s, using it as a protective shield to create and throw 4 Witchfire Bolts from the inside. When the thrown Witchfire lands, it explodes dealing damage to enemies in the area while leaving behind a creeping patch of fire that chases nearby enemies. Enemies caught in the creeping fire take burn damage every 0.4s.
Landing Damage: 100/145/190/235/280 (+50% of your Magical Power)
Burst Damage: 75/105/135/165/195 (+35% of your Magical Power)
Burn Damage: 12/17/22/27/32 (+10% of your Magical Power)
Shield Health: 160/230/300/370/440 (+25% of your Magical Power)
Cooldown: 90 seconds
Simplified Explanation
This ultimate does a LOT of damage and it's very useful in teamfights when many of the enemies are grouped together. However, this is also really good form of self peel for Baba Yaga when she is being dove. It knocks back enemies that are too close and gives baba a shield, so you should be using this ability both offensively and defensively.
This is on a relatively low cooldown once you get CDR online so do not be hesitant to use it!
However, late-game especially, you need to be mindful of your positioning while in Baba Yaga's ultimate. You cannot just run at them because you have a giant hitbox and the shield can only do so much.
That said, I think most people opt NOT to pick up Book of Thoth for Baba Yaga. I think the only god that continues to use Thoth as a core item is Kukulkan. Keep in mind, it's an item you get for 2 things: magical power and mana. As you move toward late-game, you typically get a variety of items that provide either mana or MP5, and depending on your starter of choice (if you pick one up), you might not have many mana issues even early game. You're then left with just high power.
While the power is nice, this item costs a decent amount, and other items provide other utility features or penetration. I think at this point, you're better off considering other items. For stacking, both Charon's Coin and Warlock's Staff are options. Otherwise, you can just go for a more standard mage build, like the one proposed here. You could consider an adjustment to the build order though, e.g. getting Charon's Coin first, changing starter (consider Conduit Gem into Gem of Focus), etc.
Hope this helps.
