My IGN is Hiromitsu and i mostly play Conquest with hades as MID or SOLO lane.
I can say as a conquest player i don't see many hades players out there (at least i have not met many) and most are just bad. BUT, the god itself is really good and it should be played more, especially with the right build and skill sequence.
I play hades mid mostly, because it's easier to kill other mages rather than warriors or assassins. ( They have more escapes :I )
Pros
[*] High sustain
[*] Amazing clear (blight + 3 - devour souls)
[*] High dmg (++ more dmg if more minions with blight around)
[*] Great crowd control
[*] Especially good at solo and team fights.
Cons
[*] Only one escape that is also one of his dmg abilities
[*] Highly dependant on skills
[*] Hunters/ADC - they are your worst enemies -late game (however with this build they don't prove to be very difficult to deal with, yet they are annoying anyway)
It's simple really as far as skills are concerned, for clear:
2 - 3 basic attacks into the minions to get them into a cluster then use 3(that's if you get blight on 3 minions but even 2 works)
OR
Use 2 on most of them and then 3 should do the job. Keep your escape unless you want to initiate or at lvl 2 when you have to use it for dmg.
For 1 v 1 fights
- Harass with autos! Yes, keep blight on him as much as you can. The passive is important!
It gives good boosts to skills EX: blight + 1 = 20% to a 40% slow for 2 sec at max lvl, that's quite alot. blight + 3 gives dmg, heals you and bonus dmg to enemy!
Other than this, try to get them to 75% life, and lure them into minions, use 3, more auto harass and finish with 1 or 1+ ultimate.
Try to avoid using the ult at start, unless you know it will really dmg them alot and you can finish.
Team fights: Pretty much the same as 1 v 1 but against more enemies - go for the squishy ones i recommend. Late you are tanky enough to get rid of most anyway.
I dont think there is a better item choice for Hades
Why this item choice? I'll go into detail below.
Vampiric - Magic power, gives life and mana so it's helpful as starter
Book of thoth - Gives you mana, alot of MP, and stacks well with Breastplace of Valor.
Rod of tahuti - If you complete this item and book stacks then your MP should be amazing for mid game, you can kill people with 1 + 3 and a few basics sometimes!
Breastplate of valor - It's now time to get tanky + CDR + MP with book
Ethereal staff - Life and mana which in turn gives you more MP ofc.
Bulward - This item isn't really necessary, i pick it for the magic def and life for some more MP and survival. It's your choice if you take it or choose something else.
BEADS - you will almost always need them + the cdr is good.
CURSE - situational against healers
TELEPORT - some more mobility as you teleport to wards
HEAVENLY AGILITY - helps you and your teammates, always useful against slows.

As Hades needs to be real close to his targets to deal damages and/or tank, I would have first bought the Hide of the Urchin. That's absolute priority if you want to be able to tank correctly. If you want to go full damage, your build is OK, but in that case you would probably prefer Scylla to Hades.
Also, the Book of Thoth is no longer a choice of mine. It's good for dealing damages, but it is not what is expected from Hades when you're playing 5vs5.
For Joust 3vs3, it can still be interesting, especially if all enemies are magical or all physical damage dealers (because you can probably remove 1 defensive item).
When I play 5vs5, I first go with Hide of the Urchin, but going with a starter item can be interesting. I'd rather choose Watcher's Gift than the Vampiric Shroud, but that's up to you.
Boots are not mandatory, but I know it's quite frustrating to be the slowest guy on the map, so you can probably afford to buy Boots, that you might improve or sell later.
Then I choose another defensive item according to which ennemy god(s) is(are) doing good in the game. Breastplate of Valor if the god is dealing physical damages, Spirit Robe if there is no clear leader or Bulwark of Hope if the god is dealing magical damages.
At this step, you should already have 3 defensive items. Then you can go for some damages. I prefer to start with Warlock's Sash in order to start stacking. Also you can go for Ethereal Staff for HP and MP because the passive is working better than the Rod of Tahuti at this step (it's the only MP item you have, so it just add up 125 * 1.25 = 31 MP) compared to the Ethereal Staff that probably already add 50 MP (2500 HP * 0.02).
As it can save your life to go average fast (in addition to Death From Below) for escape, you can choose it improve your Boots. Please note that if you use both Breastplate of Valor and Spirit Robe, you would be wise to choose the Shoes of the Magi, because you already have 40% CDR. I usually don't go for movement speed unless the game really requires to.
For the sixth item, I usally go for the Rod of Tahuti (if I have at least another MP item), Warlock's Sash or Ethereal Staff for damages. It is also possible to go with another defensive item if my team mates are already dealing a lot of damages and mostly need a tank.
Regarding actives, Shield of the Underworld is a must have before you throw Pillar of Agony. Shell of Absorption is also interesting. You can also go for an active that will improve your escape skills (either teleport or movement speed buff).
To sum-up, in most cases I would go this way :
Hide of the Urchin, Bulwark of Hope, Warlock's Sash, Breastplate of Valor, Spirit Robe, Ethereal Staff
Actives : Shield of the Underworld + Shell of Absorption or Greater Sprint
If you don't need/want to tank, there is another interesting item set :
Hide of the Urchin, Celestial Legion Helm, Void Stone, Warlock's Sash, Spirit Robe, Rod of Tahuti
Actives : Shield of the Underworld + Shell of Absorption or Greater Sprint
In both cases I do not use boots (I trust my defense!), but you can remove an item to put boots instead if you feel more confortable with boots.
Anyway, that's just my point of view! :)
The guide could use some expanding, bit more about skills, possible combos. Maybe also add some situational items.
Also not the most beautiful guide out there, bit more work on coding.
Still looks like a good hades build, will vote up if it works in testing.
