Relic Choices

Notes Blink Rune: Standard 1st relic that allows you to teleport close to your target and hold your dash for if/when they try to retreat. If the enemy team has a lot of dangerous CC, you may opt for Purification Beads before this.

Purification Beads: As a squishy god, CC can be a death sentence so it's imperative to have Beads whenever facing a comp with hard CC. If you don't pick it up first, it's typically your 2nd relic.

Aegis Amulet: Very efficient against burst comps and easily anticipated skills like Release The Kraken!.

Nemesis's Skill Order Notes Slice and Dice is the main priority due to the low cooldown and best damage potential.

Typically, the ultimate will be prioritized next whenever it's available to level.

Retribution is prioritized before Swift Vengeance because of the utility of the damage reflect and heal. Swift Vengeance is also not always used for damage, so it is usually maxed last.

Introduction

Hey everyone, welcome to the SMITEFire Community guide to Nemesis. In this guide, we'll be going over all the essential info you'll need to get started with the Goddess of Revenge!

Abilities

Passive - Scales of Fate
  • Scales of Fate stacks up to 3 times from basic attacks, stealing up to 21% of the enemy’s total power while boosting your own power by 21%. This encourages a high power build, and has greater effect the more complete the build. It also allows her build flexibility, with the option to go for an ability, basic attack, or hybrid build direction.

  • For the greatest damage potential, initiate with basic attacks when possible to gain stacks before using Slice and Dice and Swift Vengeance.

  • Enemy power reduction only works on one target, you’ll need to build up stacks again if you’re attacking a different opponent.

Ability 1 - Swift Vengeance
  • Swift Vengeance is Nemesis' only mobility ability, providing 2 short dashes; the second dash can be used within a 2 second window after the first dash. You can use basic attacks or other abilities between the dashes.

  • Casting Type Behavior: The ability behaves differently depending on casting type. In NORMAL casting, once you use the first dash, using your basic attack button will trigger the second dash. If you want to use basic attacks in-between dashes, you’ll have to use the cancel button before attacking. In INSTANT cast mode, you use the ability button for both dashes, so is easier for attack canceling. It is strongly suggested to get used to instant cast for this ability.

  • Offense / Fighting: Each dash deals damage, so will often be used for offense. You can use it strategically to make yourself a difficult target to hit by changing directions, such as passing through your target.

  • Initiation: If you need to close the gap quickly and Blink Rune isn’t available, you can use this for initiation purposes. Keep in mind that you won’t have as much damage potential once you engage, nor will you have any added mobility until it is off cooldown. Avoid using it to close distance when possible.

  • Escape / Chase: Because this is her only mobility ability, always consider holding this for potential escape from dangerous situations. You can also save it to chase fleeing enemies after an engagement.

Ability 2 - Slice and Dice
  • This is Nemesis’ main source of damage for fights or when clearing camps, and has the lowest cooldown of her abilities. Always hit your main target in the center of this large cone, as it deals double the damage of the outer sections and also applies a slow.

  • While initiating a fight with this ability is helpful for early control via the slow, it can often be better to save it for when the slow will be most effective. Remember also that using basic attacks first provides a boost in power.

Ability 3 - Retribution
  • This ability provides Nemesis with a strong ability to box another god. It not only reflects a portion of incoming damage but heals you for an amount up to the full health of the shield.

  • Proper Timing: Timing the use of this ability is extremely important. At full health, it should usually be used once you’ve taken some damage and when you expect to receive further damage. However, if you are lower on health, it may be wiser to activate it before receiving expected damage.

  • Hard CC Warning: Hard crowd control effects remove the shield. Timing activation can be exceptionally important against specific hard CC abilities, especially silences and stuns. Nox and Ganesha are two examples of gods that can kill the shield without even dealing damage.

Ultimate - Divine Judgement
  • This is a no-miss ultimate ability that deals a percentage of your target’s current health in damage, while also stealing 30% of their protections. Scaling is not factored into the damage potential. It is best targeted on healthy targets, with better potential against tanks, as they typically have significantly higher health and protections.

  • The best use is often at the beginning of a fight when you decide to commit to it. It also provides a boost of movement speed to help you close the gap with your target.

Leveling Priority

2
3
4
1

Slice and Dice is your main priority due to the low cooldown and best damage potential. You'll use it in all engagements and for camp clear.

Retribution is prioritized before Swift Vengeance because of the utility of the damage reflect and heal. Swift Vengeance is not always used for damage, so it is usually leveled last.

You can prioritize Divine Judgement whenever it's available to level, but for the utility shield and heal, you may want to max Retribution first.

Game Play

Early Game

  • You should generally focus on farming and gaining as much gold and experience as you can in the early game. Although your damage isn't that strong early game, you have good early boxing potential through the use of Retribution. If you spot a good gank opportunity, use Blink Rune to close the gap, saving your Swift Vengeance for chase or escape. This is significantly better against gods that don't have mobility abilities.

  • Don't be afraid to use Slice and Dice on all jungle camps when the ability is up. It has a relatively short cooldown and is easily your best clear ability. If you've gone the Golden Blade direction, once that is online, save S & D for engagements when possible.

Mid Game
  • You should be engaging in all teamfights when possible. You can hurt tanks early in a fight with her ult, or look for an opportunity to slip by the front line to attack the squishy backline enemies.

Late Game

Is there a hybrid build possible? Like most people start Kali with The Crusher and then move towards auto attacks after Warrior Tabi.

Kriega1 (143) | September 29, 2020 1:01pm
Probably, wouldn't go the exact build a Kali does though.

Well let's talk this through.

What are the key items, if any, that would be needed to make basic attacks as functional as possible?

What are the key items that are core to keeping abilities viable?

To me, chase potential is in Arondight, and combined with the slow in Slice, that allows her to not use Hastened Katana (which isn't even core in the basic attack build). Hydra's Lament is nice for the bonus damage after an ability, w/ Aron, maybe that 20% CDR is still plenty for abilities.

Then you keep The Crusher, maybe switch Warrior Tabi with Ninja Tabi, and fill the rest of the build with mostly basic attack focused items. Serrated Edge seems fine for the lifesteal and main % pen. So we'd need to identify 1 more general item, and a replacement for Tabi late-game.

Thoughts?

Should 100% swap exe for atalantas you shouldnt be building executioner anymore. even though it stacks with your ult slightly better (the pen difference is not that big and only counts if you ult the same person you then auto attack), the fact it takes 3 autos to apply, and gives worse stats and essentially no passive when compared to atalantas means its just a worse pickup. Id also include serrated in the aa build over hastened, nem has enough slows and sticking potential without it. i'd also grab arondight before hydras in the ability build, hydras is more efficient when your autos already do good damage. Maybe a toxic blade in situational items?

also, if you're leveling the ult over the shield at level 10, shouldn't you do the same at 13?

I'll also dm you about contributing i think

Awesome Disco, thanks for the feedback.

I do think 3 basics in a basic attack build will be applied quickly, and it's always more difficult to ascertain the effectiveness of protection reduction and how much it helps your phys teammates' damage, making it less appealing in general...though if you want to consider it that way, you might consider the passive as the protection reduction, so when stacks are applied it allows phys teammates to deal more damage. Thinking that way, maybe it has more appeal? Also, Ata's isn't straight better stats as Exe has 10 more power, and with the next patch, the AS will be identical.

That said, for now I'm okay moving back to Atalanta's for now.

I was torn what to throw in on that 7th slot. Hastened is absolutely situational and not always needed which is why it was 7th and not earlier. That said, it IS getting picked up pretty regularly from what I'm seeing.

Toxic is already listed in situationals.

For contributing, please join the SF discord and say something in the collaboration channel and we can add you. For now, I've added you to our list of contributors for this one.

Not sure how I missed toxic blade honestly. I think the leveling order also might need a second look at level 10/14, some inconsistent prioritisation. Where can I find an invite link?

Personally I think Exe is more of a (very situational) AA hunter item, not really for AA assassins. Did see Cyno get it on Erlang and Arachne though in SPL.

It gets decent functionality on Kali as well.
