Start: Manikin Scepter OR Eye Of The Jungle + Short Bow + Potions.
This is a basic attack build example focusing on attack speed and high penetration, which can be effective against both squishy and tanky enemies.
The last 3 slots are optional; you can also consider Toxic Blade, Atalanta's Bow, and The Executioner.
Start: Manikin Scepter OR Eye Of The Jungle + Katana + Potions.
This build example provides high crit chance for great basic attack burst, and is particularly effective against squishy enemies.
Start: Bumba's Dagger + Mace + Potions.
This build will eventually provide 40% CDR through upgraded Bumba's Hammer + Arondight + Mantle of Discord.
If anti-heal isn't needed, you can pick up The Crusher or skip as preferred.
Start: Bumba's Dagger + Mace + Potions.
This alternate ability build example utilizes Manikin Scepter at the start for good early gank potential, and gets you a solid start on CDR with Jotunn's Wrath.
If anti-heal isn't needed, you can pick up The Crusher or skip as preferred.
If needed, consider protections late (such as from Mantle of Discord) in place of Serrated Edge.
Blink Rune: Standard 1st relic that allows you to teleport close to your target and hold your dash for if/when they try to retreat. If the enemy team has a lot of dangerous CC, you may opt for Purification Beads before this.
Purification Beads: As a squishy god, CC can be a death sentence so it's imperative to have Beads whenever facing a comp with hard CC. If you don't pick it up first, it's typically your 2nd relic.
Aegis Amulet: Very efficient against burst comps and easily anticipated skills like Release The Kraken!.
You can fit these items into a basic attack build if preferred.
Toxic Blade: Great in a Qin's-based build to provide additional AS and anti-heal function.
The Executioner: Provides strong penetration function if your team has a lot of physical damage dealers.
Atalanta's Bow: Provides a lot of utility in its passive, where you'll gain AS and decrease the MS penalty when attacking.
You can fit these items into ability-based build if preferred.
Hydra's Lament: Good for attack-canceling, which Nemesis does well. Provides CDR and bonus damage.
Heartseeker: Strong late-game item that's particularly effective against high health targets.
Slice and Dice is the main priority due to the low cooldown and best damage potential.
Typically, the ultimate will be prioritized next whenever it's available to level.
Retribution is prioritized before Swift Vengeance because of the utility of the damage reflect and heal. Swift Vengeance is also not always used for damage, so it is usually maxed last.

What are the key items, if any, that would be needed to make basic attacks as functional as possible?
What are the key items that are core to keeping abilities viable?
To me, chase potential is in Arondight, and combined with the slow in Slice, that allows her to not use Hastened Katana (which isn't even core in the basic attack build). Hydra's Lament is nice for the bonus damage after an ability, w/ Aron, maybe that 20% CDR is still plenty for abilities.
Then you keep The Crusher, maybe switch Warrior Tabi with Ninja Tabi, and fill the rest of the build with mostly basic attack focused items. Serrated Edge seems fine for the lifesteal and main % pen. So we'd need to identify 1 more general item, and a replacement for Tabi late-game.
Thoughts?
Honestly im not 100% sure on her itemisation, i've seen some variety in builds paths across high level ranked (NA and EU) and SPL / SML, plus there's a vid on SPL players discussing Nem I have yet to watch that's in my watch later playlist.
Other considerations: Qin's, Ichaival
Well, let us know what you find out, Kriega.
*Edit* actually how much damage loss do we get switching Ninja and Warrior with regard to a Hydra's proc? Hydra's grants 40% higher damage on the next basic. 20 power difference w/ a progression of 1x = 8 base damage difference before mitigations, unless I'm calculating incorrectly. That doesn't seem like much, in which case adding 20% AS from Ninja seems way more beneficial.
also, if you're leveling the ult over the shield at level 10, shouldn't you do the same at 13?
I'll also dm you about contributing i think
I do think 3 basics in a basic attack build will be applied quickly, and it's always more difficult to ascertain the effectiveness of protection reduction and how much it helps your phys teammates' damage, making it less appealing in general...though if you want to consider it that way, you might consider the passive as the protection reduction, so when stacks are applied it allows phys teammates to deal more damage. Thinking that way, maybe it has more appeal? Also, Ata's isn't straight better stats as Exe has 10 more power, and with the next patch, the AS will be identical.
That said, for now I'm okay moving back to Atalanta's for now.
I was torn what to throw in on that 7th slot. Hastened is absolutely situational and not always needed which is why it was 7th and not earlier. That said, it IS getting picked up pretty regularly from what I'm seeing.
Toxic is already listed in situationals.
For contributing, please join the SF discord and say something in the collaboration channel and we can add you. For now, I've added you to our list of contributors for this one.
Of course, you can always point skip at 8 and put a point into both the ult and Slice at 9, but I always find that messy to read in the build.
I'm more okay getting the 3rd point into the ult at 13 over Ret, if you really think it makes a difference. At least at ult rank 3 you get a bit more MS rather than just a 2.5% total health damage increase. (FYI at full health on a 2,500 health enemy, that 2.5% damage increase is 60 damage)
