Match stats are here if you care.
We somehow managed to pull out the win. I died way to many times, but had solid damage and did a bunch of tower damage. I changed my build several times because of all the CC the enemy team had. I got chained so many times that it became increasingly frustrating and we almost surrendered numerous times. My original build was my normal. Transcendence Warrior Tabi Asi Qin's Sais Titan's Bane then Magi's blessing. I usually wouldn't get Magi and would get Shifter's Shield or The Crusherinstead but I was getting CC'ed to much that I couldn't keep up with Purification always on Cooldown it seemed. So I decided to mix and match.
Late game, I felt like I still wasn't doing much because I could not do any damage without getting CC'ed to death. So I decided to sacrifice my lifesteal Asi and picked up Spirit Robe, thinking if I get CC'ed, maybe I can survive it. It helped a little bit it seemed but not as much as I would have liked but still think it was the right move in the long run. Next, I switched out Titan's Bane for The Executioner. I felt like I could do some more damage to the enemy tanks, but I sacrificed damage to the Phoenixes and Titan which I felt later when making the final push. Lastly, I subbed Warrior Tabi
for Ninja Tabi for the added attack speed. Thinking, I needed to fire off as many shots as possible before I get CC to death again.
The enemy team worked well together, they coordinated attacks and swarmed us when they had the advantage. The best thing we had going for us was being able to take down towers quicker and easier, in which we took down their 2 towers relatively quickly. They just won most of the team fights. One of the most annoying things, besides all the CC, was warding. I bought regular wards when I could and warded Apophis and the gap between the two lanes....they also bought wards but bought Sentry wards which basically negated mine because they placed them in the same areas then went and destroyed mine when I set them. My teammates didn't buy near as many wards either but were good at letting everyone know when enemy left lane at least.
Fast forward to late game. We are struggling and lost our phoenixes but somehow beat them back from taking the titan. We play defensively for a bit maintaining lane until our Phoenixes come back up. At that point, the entire enemy team was pushing our left lane hard while our Arachne went to our right lane and took their phoenix causing them to retreat. This gave us a break to take left phoenix which we took down low in health but couldn't destroy. Fast forward a little more. Enemy team is pushing left lane hard, Arcachne was dead and just about to respawn. I notice that all 5 were in left lane pushing. I went to the right lane and took down the recently respawned phoenix (this took longer than I thought, made me miss Titan's Bane. By that time, Arachne was behind me and we attacked the titan together. The enemy Awilix came to challenge us which prompted Arachne to box her leaving me open to attack titan. We took the titan down just as Arachne was almost dead...... never felt so overjoyed. After that quit for the night as I was drained from the intense match.
So my question in regards to my end build. Would you do anything different in that aspect? It really takes a lot for me to change from my normal Trans build, as I normally don't have that much issue in most matches with it. I am curious though, if I could have been more effective or not. There isn't enough CC reduction items that I can get or came to mind, while keeping damage up. I am not the biggest fan of The Executioner over Titan's Bane. I think that trade off was not the greatest but I did do better against enemies but when I really needed the penetration for the final push it wasn't there and I didn't have other penetration in build like I normally do because of all the CC they had.
TL:DR- Long Clash match somehow won.
I probably would have given up. LOL. That's a really frustrating comp. Speaking of frustrating comps...enemy Odin, Ares, Ratatoskr, Cupid, and Zeus. Every ult has huge AOE, and no way in hell a Phantom Veil in combination with an upgraded Purification Beads can keep up with that. Personally, I think that comp is just F'd up. WTF is wrong with Clash anyway?!? So you say you died too much...ha. Got you beat. 15. 15 freaking deaths.
Anyway, this isn't about me, this is about you. Your build?
..speaking of enemy builds...
Observations:
I got Magi's just so I could have another set of beads...which didn't matter to much because of stupid Kumbhakarna's kit taking it out every time it was up.
I have never sold Trans before... I work so hard to get it built it is tough to sell it haha. Mana wasn't really an issue as I either died or retreated before could a lot of it. So maybe a Bloodforge would've been alright. Tough call though.
Yeah... Anubis could have used more penetration.
It could have been terrible if Hades got Obsidian Shard or Spear of Desolation. Chronos is okay since his cooldowns are relatively high so I can see the appeal.. Stone of Gaia though was a questionable choice for sure.
Yeah, I didn't realize he had all those. As a team, we didn't build a lot of penetration overall. Mostly flat penetration from Anubis, Arachne, Tyr. Ah pach was a solid build...obviously with 109k damage.
Awilix was interesting as she tried to box more than burst down. The Magi's pick is probably to counter, Skadi's Permafrost, Tyr's CC and Anubis CC. Anubis was decent at hitting his wrap though. So probably to counter our CC. I would've gotten Titan's Bane and Hyrdas instead of Deathbringer and Qin's.
I would've been so mad if we didn't win.
Anyways, that late in the game, Mantle of Discord might have been a better option than Spirit Robe because of it's Passive, but that's a tough call to make. Also, maybe I would have kept Titan's Bane instead of swapping it w/ The Executioner.
Please note, I'm not that experienced with Skadi, I don't think I even have her at Mastery 1, so I have no clue how she is being built in S4.
Yeah I probably should have kept Titan's Bane but thought I could use some more Attack speed while maintaining some penetration, but later I should have just focused on trying to finish objectives instead of team fighting as I was getting CC'ed to much to do anything in battles. Mantle or Spirit could be a toss up. It's not like I was hurting for gold really so that wasn't an issue. The passive for Mantle would've been nice, but the cooldown on it is quite long that could have hurt me after using it, if found in a team battle again while on cooldown, but like you said tough call to make.
