Correct me if I'm wrong, but the "official" MOBA Tier list are mainly measured by how often the characters is picked in competitive play (at least that's how it is in fighting games).

I personally don't care the slightest about Tier list, in fact I tend to be draw towards low tier characters (Phoenix Wright in UMvC 3 for life). In Smite I main who is often considered the worst carry in the game, but I just love him more then any other carry in the game.

Cupid is not the worst carry, is considered worse. So second-worst.

Also, is it just me, or the lower you get in the tiers, the more fun the gods get? (i.e. )

Nope. is the worst IMO. lacks mobility, but she wrecks late game. About the ''the lower the tier the more the fun'', is just personal preference. I do enjoy playing , but I also like and .

To be fair, Nex, sure Phoenix is low tier, Until you get 3 pieces of evidence, which if they're good, make him one of the best in the game. Up there with Phoenix and level 5 Frank West. :P

(Off-topic: I hated the nerf to Phoenix' assists. After everyone asked for a Wesker nerf too. Also, they should just remove the "bad evidence" feature.)

I like Cupid. He's surprisingly powerful early game due to his stun, and the little bugger's hard to kill too. He's the only carry where I get Frostbound Hammer regularly, and I play him as support.

You must remember that there are players who are in incredibly good with one certain god and no one knows why. And that certain god doesn't have to be the god who is considered top tier.

This whole statement is pretty misleading, IMO. Watch competitive matches and you'll see a lot of the same things; Merc, Tyr, Agni, Zhong being banned, no Cupid, etc. Saying that the best players can stomp with bad characters doesn't really mean anything; watch some of the best play casually and they go like 15-3 with a bad character on a troll build, jumping everywhere. The best players don't play Cupid and Vulcan competitively because they'll be at a disadvantage against other people at their level. That's what the tier lists are all about.

There's nothing wrong with liking a character who isn't top tier. The game is about fun, and there really isn't a big difference at the casual level. Just know that with equal skill levels, the enemy Agni or He Bo is starting with an advantage on you if you're Ra.

Yep,
Almost all of my matches playing as Phoenix Wright either goes down to me not being able to get to turnabout mode and losing or:

"Objection!"
"I got all I need!"
*Your opponent has rage quitted"

I don’t think Mr. Wright as bad as a most people think, but he is defiantly not top tier (Horrible mobility, low combo potential outside of Turnabout mode and meh assist)

Totally agreed.
Also Bad evidence = The most evil thing in the game

If you are a great Ares, go Ares support (a good Ares is better than a bad Sobek). Same thing with Cupid, Hades etc etc.

...then stop. Not only can be easily countered in-lane, his only real territory is the jungle, and one of the best when it comes to that. Please don't be a Lanerir... we don't need any more.
