Well, I've been playing smite for ages, and I've often enjoyed it. But recently my enjoyment has slumped and then plummeted. Want to know how this works?

It's simple really. ****ING. THANATOS.

Like, I don't care how weak he is, I don't care how bad his lategame is, this god has literally made me want to rip my hair out and break my monitor in half. And you know what? I actually did rip a small bit of my hair out in rage. And I am no ragequitter, yet since thanatos' buffs and rise in play, I have ragequit about 10 times! It's ridiculous!

I'm fine with herc, apollo, agni, ra and that op lot, they're annoying but not so much so, yet thanatos just breaks me. I see him in the enemy team and my heat just lurches, and I instantly become really scared and timid. Hell, I don't actually think I've ever done really well whilst against a thanatos. Ever. He's the one god I physically CANNOT fight and the only one to actually make me want to quit smite.

Hi-Rez can do anything they want; buff ra, nerf arachne, make ancile cost 20 gold, but none of that would piss me off more than thanatos. If thanatos is nerfed, I will celebrate. If he is removed, I will honestly hold a massive party at my house and get drunk off my face, even though I hate alcohol. THAT is how much I hate him.

What's the problem you have with him, how do you die to him?

Well, his scythe and the fact he comes from nowhere. That thing hits harder than a claymore poisoned with a duck billed platypus' elbow venom. And also, you feel helpless while silenced. Because you are, when also slowed and at half health.

I love Thanatos. My favorite part is when you are teleporting home in your second tower and he just randomly lands on you and bam. You die. 90 seconds later? He lands on you again and dead. I know your pain Pudding man. I know your pain.

HolyPudding i know how u feel, i got the same feeling from you when fighting a Loki (except when I'm a tank, i can rip Loki's pants) but I'm not afraid it just made me want to smash him and put a dam lion on his bed.

And HolyPudding Thanatos isn't too hard to counter, I have minor problems with him too but just avoid him if you can't follow these simple rules:

1. As long as you juke his 1, you're good to go.
2. Ward.

Yeah, Thanatos is the bane of my existence as well. It' not the damage that it's that annoying (although he usually eats my Aegis) as the immune to slows on his 2 as well as the INSANE PEN.

I feel you buddy...

But the real problem is: Why can assassins dish out HUGE amounts of damage with very minimal farm.

Thanatos is definitely good but atm he's not super amazeballs. He's mostly early game, similiar to Arachne. I find that coordination by my team can usually shut down anyone, even thana. But then again if your solo qing then rip you, your team will just be like "Stfu thana fed gg surrender at 10." But if your playing with 1-2 friends you can shut a thana down.

Favorite Gods: Sun Wukong, Loki, Thanatos, Ares

well if he is close and his ult can kill you you see the red skull. and if he drops from the sky you hear his scream. the moment your fleeing and you see a red skull be ready too use your escape (or aegis) when he drops you hear his scream sound pop it it will dodge the ultimate and earn you some distance (if you haven't used aegis aegis it when you have help really close). after that be ready too dodge his scythe. after that he needs to use his 2 to get close (and that won't happen super duper fast) if you find him too close use one of your abilities with cc (as long as he can't pop his three he can't kill you so easy.)

And if he continuous chase hope someone comes to help. And your escape and dodging skills are up when needed. normally he won't give chase after you pass a tower if he doesn't has his ult.
