Artemis Build

Boring but Strong

Notes $13650 total
345 AA damage
20% pen on AA (30% with wind demon active)
1.68 attack speed (1.88 with wind demon active)
65% crit
29% lifesteal and 2% hp heal per AA

Death's Temper isn't the most interesting but helps with mana sustain.

Can either start with first level boots or gauntlet and then I usually rush boots afterwards.

7th Item / Situational items

Notes You will see alot of repeat with items in other builds being use as situational. You will also notice very few defensive items are listed as situational. You are the ranged ADC Artemis and if you are dying alot most likely defensive items are not the reason why.

Easy rule of thumbs:

If you are using Rage and Wind Demon then Deathbringer will provide you most dps if that is what you need. Poisoned Star and Shadowsteel Shuriken are an obvious case by case.

If you are not using a not using a crit build then Rage will net you the most dps increase. That being said look into the other items for what may suit you better.

I hate building anti heal so hopefully your team does :)

Introduction

Hi. I made a super long indepth math guide before but it was not super well reviewed. I am just going to give quick overviews of each build here and some of the flexibilities/weakness/advantages.

TL;DR If you are new or don't wanna read. Use the Boring but Strong build or the 1v1s are my specialty build

Why are the builds so wonky?

Patch 8.2 bonus gave a decent buff to Spectral Armor. What this means that if you commit to a full 100% crit build, you can be easily countered. This leaves you with a few options:

  1. Hyrbid: running Rage and Wind Demon suffice enough critical to kill the enemy squishies super fast (Except maybe Hou Yi). This means you need pen or Qin's Sai to deal with tanks if they do have Spectral Armor or are Geb
  2. No crit: By not forcing yourself to take up crit items you can obtain really high power, attack speed, and penetration items. You make kill squishes a little slower but they are called squishies for a reason
  3. ALL CRIT: Ignore the meta and haters. With death bringer your crits go from 140% damage to 152%. Enough to scare but more important anyone that isn't a tank will melt like chocolate in a microwave

The game ends at boots. Unless you are always playing high skilled ranked games, very often the game will end before you can sell boots and get your 7th item. There is more emphasis on getting early leads than before in my opinion.

And lastly the biggest reason why Artemis builds can be really wonky... Attack speed cap. Artemis at level 20 has a base attack speed of 1.25. That is fairly normal. The problem is her attack speed steroid of Vengeful Assault gives a whopping 80% attack speed at max rank. This means that any attack speed above 1.7, will cause diminishing returns on one of the best self buffs in the game. Thus we are forced to run mostly low attack speed builds. (Unless you convert to my faith known as Silverbranch Bow) This causes alot of builds to not utilize Ornate Arrow or Hunter's Cowl. The latter arguably one of the most aggressive starter items for team fights.

I absolutely love all of these builds, I do have one question; would the rune forged hammer be decent at all paired with ARTEMIS?

Yes. It goes well with your passive. The problem is outside of passives it's just power and hp. I would take it as a 7th item to sell from the PandaCat classic or 1v1 is my specialty. Or maybe the spectral armor doesn't exist build. Just keep in that you will want a team with heavy CCs (root, stun, cripple) or else it isn't as effective.

If you've modified a crit build to have Poisoned Star then it definitely synergizes well
