Boots are an excellent starter item for
Nemesis, giving her some early mobility. Once upgraded to
Warrior Tabi they also provide better power than
Ninja Tabi. Since there is a lot of attack speed in this build, the attack speed from
Ninja Tabi is mostly unnecessary, so I would recommend purchasing
Warrior Tabi instead.
Bumba's Mask is my go to starter item for most assassins. It's incredibly helpful to
Nemesis due to her poor early game ability to take out jungle camps, but if you're confident in your early game you can start building your other items immediately.
ALTERNATIVE
Death's Toll is a decent alternative to
Bumba's Mask. I personally like the early game stat boosts it provides that help me have an edge on enemy players, but it does limit your ability to take out jungle camps effectively.
Hand of the Gods is always my starter active with
Nemesis because it provides an easy way to take out jungle camps, something that
Nemesis is poor during her early game. Mid/late game
Fist of the Gods allows you to get an extra stun on enemies as well, making this an all around good investment.
ALTERNATIVE
Achilles' Spear is a great item because it allows you to close the gap on enemies and gain additional attack speed and lifesteal. Be wary when using this however, because the increased damage taken for 5s can be dangerous. It can be helpful to counter this with
Retribution while ganking.
sprint
I often buy sprint the first time I return to base as Nemesis. It improves her movement even more and allows her to fly through the map, taking out all the jungle camps and still have time to gank lanes. It's also helpful for closing the gap on enemies and escaping while
Swift Vengeance is on cooldown. If you buy
Hastened Fatalis, you will not need this item as much.
ALTERNATIVE
Purification Beads while not typically as useful as sprint, can be necessary in matches where you are continuously exposed to hard CC, such as Ares, Hades, Anubis, Chang'e, etc. If possible, I will always advise something else as a better alternative, but if you're making the best of a bad situation,
Purification Beads is not a bad choice.
Note: Magi's Blessing can often be bought to replace this item with its passive.
ALTERNATIVE
Greater Aegis is essential against gods with great amounts of burst damage from their ultimates over a short time like
Anubis,
Poseidon
Hercules, etc.
Jotunn's Wrath allows the user to perform more
Slice and Dice's as well as
Divine Judgements greatly increasing both
Nemesis' kill frequency and kill potential. It also provides decent penetration and power, as well as some mana which can be useful for sustain in the jungle.
ALTERNATIVE
Hastened Fatalis provide great attack speed and movement speed, as well as a passive that will allow you to begin focusing enemies as early as possible. However,
Nemesis does have two slows and can often stick to people using items such as sprint. Regardless, this item does make a good replacement for magi's blessing (just push up the build order 1 position until you get to 5th item) allowing you to invest in
Purification Beads rather than sprint.
ALTERNATIVE
Ichaival is by far
Nemesis best option when playing against a primarily physical team. It still provides additional attack speed, but also reduces enemies' physical power while increasing yours, allowing you to focus down Warriors, assassins and hunters with ease.
The Executioner (almost) maxes out
Nemesis's attack speed, gives additional power and reduces targets' physical protections for three stacks on basic attacks. With your high attack speed, this is easy to accomplish, and when used in conjunction with
Nemesis'
Divine Judgement, it will provide enough penetration to take out even the toughest enemies in seconds.
Rage will allow you to crit far more often and also provides a decent attack power buff. This makes it more or less essential for
Deathbringer to be effective.
Was there ever any doubt?
Deathbringer provides great power, critical strike chance and makes your critical hits do 50% more damage. However, this item is expensive, so I would advise getting
Rage or
Malice first.
Magi's Blessing
Magi's Blessing is irreplaceable against teams with good CC. While beads can supplant this against some teams, if you are getting hit by too much hard CC to be able to dash in and out from attacking teams, you will need this item.
ALTERNATIVE
Asi is a great late game item, providing additional attack speed, and lifesteal so that you can stay out of base longer during the late game. While
Nemesis' ult provides you with penetration, it's important to still be powerful while it's on cooldown as well.
ALTERNATIVE
Malice can be a decent final item to a crit build adding even more crit chance which allows its passive to really become effective.
I do not build crits on
Firstly just to note: this guide is reflective of me 3 months after having started playing smite.
Would I recommend this build today? Only if you want to pubstomp newer players (I was going like 20-1-10 with this build back then since I was being paired with people way under my skill level XD).
I do still think the first build listed there is viable, but you need to be up against a team where
However, more of a bruiser
To address the points brought up:
I will say that magi's blessing regardless of the nerf is still a solid pick since it gives you a lot of security knowing you can go all in without being CC'd, especially with a more 'glass cannon' build, but I'd probably grab something heavier if I was building more as a bruiser.
As mentioned above,
I'll see if I can update the guide to include some options for more bruiser-style builds and also get rid of silly options like

I've seen in previous comments that
Also, Magi's blessing has been nerfed, so maybe not a good choice anymore.

Crits work fine on Nemesis but with the build provided, I can guess that the early game is very lackluster and hard to get by. You need some early attack speed by either getting
I'd also suggest that you elaborate a bit more on using her shield. I often see many players use the shield ASAP when boxing when instead, they should be using it at the end of the fight or to wait to negate a vulcan ult or something of the sort. Good luck!
