Eh, let's make it detonate automatically at the end of three seconds.

How are we going to do the damage? Celestial Beam will obviously be his waveclear skill, but without the damage from Solar Blessing, how would this work? Should we just keep the damage as is, or buff/nerf it?

There is one VERY IMPORTANT thing we have yet to assess: Fun.

How fun is it playing and playing against this god? Please list.

Agni: Have little experience with playing him, playing against him is interesting.

Anubis: Least fun mage to play seriously. He can be fun when fighting people who don't know how to buy Aegis or Beads or take advantage of his weaknesses, but against serious players, he's frustrating to play.

Ao Kuang: Two words: Dargon snipe. He's interesting, fun, and dynamic.

Aphrodite: So far, playing as her has been fun. Against her, not sure.

Chang'e: Playing her is VERY fun, dancing through enemy ultimates, etc, even if you feel like you are useless in the early game. PLaying against her is a living hell, it is not fun at all to be stunned for 3 seconds and killed while completely helpelss.

Chronos: Playing him is just completely messed up. Some gods like Thanatos counter him completely, while he's really good against other gods, but the fact that he's nearly helpless against some gods has a huge negative effect on his fun factor. Playing against him is similar. But his ultimate is possibly one of the least fun mechanics in the game.

Freya: Playing her is pretty exciting, but her ultimate just feels like such a cheap tactic.

He Bo: Is fun when you do well. But against him, when he gets fed and starts killing you instantly with his superfast combo and his insane burst, is not fun at all.

Hel: I have probably never played against an experienced Hel before, nor am I an experienced Hel player. And from what I understand about her, a high-skill Hel is WAY WAY different than a low-skill Hel.

Eset: From what I can tell, she's okay in all categories, but her (Edit:) PASSIVE feels too useless.

Nu Wa: Eh...it feels very obnoxious being chained to your ultimate for nearly everything, but she's fairly fun.

Poseidon: When you instantly kill the enemy mage with your ultimate, it's hilarious. But when get hit and stunned by his wombocombo, it's not fun.

Ra: It's fun playing and fighting him in a duel or something, but his sheer pushing power is just freaking annoying. When he gets fed off of forcing you to stay at your tower by his sheer pushing potential, before two-shotting you, it isn't fun at all. That said, in a fair situation, he's fun to play and fight. I don't think anyone gets mad when they get sniped through a wall.

Scylla: She feels horrible in the early game, especially when compared to other mages. But her mechanics are fun, and very skillshot oriented, but she just doesn't feel that effective outside her ultimate. I haven't seen much of her as an enemy.

Vulcan: He's fun to play...but against him, he's just completely ****ing obnoxious.

Zeus: Not fun. At all. His kit just feels so DAMN UNFAIR! Why does his kit completely RESTRICT enemy player options? What kind of game RESTRICTS options? Little counterplay. Awful fighting against him, haven't played him in an year.

Zhong Kui: Very fun to play. His ultimate makes you really feel like you are contributing. One complaint is that his ultimate isn't fun to fight AGAINST.

One more thing: I really think the amount of everything in this game is really hurting it. There are so many "Beads/Aegis or die!" things in the game, that it isn't very dynamic. Many things are very "fire-and-forget", with little counterplay options or dynamic play. People heal for too much, people CC for too much, people all deal too much damage or can push too well.

I think that is really hurting this game, by restricting player options.

PLAYING a god is the only thing that should be fun. Playing against someone isn't fun, unless you're owning them, in most cases. You make it seem their all not fun, but then I realized you said they aren't fun to play against. Playing against someone, isn't necessarily supposed to make you rage (hello matchmaking. you are overpowered.), but it's supposed to give a challenge and a contributing role for your team. I've never really thought playing against a god could be fun; I've always thought that it's the amount of effort you put into defeating you're opponents that's fun. You know...a worthy opponent. Not a nemesis that gains 5 trillion speed boost and can chase your Vamana dash. Because that's always fun.

That is exactly my point: There is no "worthy opponent" feeling. When the enemy He Bo kills you in literally three seconds using his combo, which you can do nothing because you are in the air the entire time, you don't feel good. At all.

If Ao Kuang, on the other hand, manages to snipe you with squall, try to catch up to you, and ends up killing you with a through-the-wall Dargon, I can't call it FUN, exactly, but there is a notable lack of frustration. You get the sense that your opponent is either really lucky or skilled, and that is far more preferable than being killed in one shot by an ultimate the size of a planet.

Fun was a bad word. Frustrating, or lack thereof, is better.

I thought about all the 10 year olds on Call of Duty who are like "Ermagerd 7200000 noscope wallbang headshot triple kill across another lobby."

Yeah, lol, me too. Or those *******s running around with the most OP guns and setups... You feel like there's nothing you can do...

I can agree to some extent with what you've written Sub, but not completely. Sure, Chang'e is the most annoying god in the game, but she doesn't make me want to throw my keyboard throw the window. In fact, no god does. You know what does? Matchmaking, my internet and my PC. Don't get me wrong, there are many things that we could fix to make gods more fun, but I don't find it a severe problem. Apart from Ullr, Nemesis, Zeus and perhaps Freya, everyone else is okay, IMO.
In my opinion, the most fun Mages to play as, are Ra and Vulcan. The sheer satisfaction of sniping someone or hitting that large-*** rocket makes me smile.

Okay, it may not be out most pressing concern, but fun or lack thereof is a huge factor. Games should balance fun, game balance, and...accessibility? Not sure if there's a third one. At any rate, there is plenty of player SKILL balance (accessibility), because even the noobiest player in the world can get a kill by hitting with spirit's tempest, if only accidentally.

The only two remaining factors are balance and fun, and I think we should be working on both. That isn't me saying that fun > balance. But my point is, fun should still be a factor. And since we're done with the actual balance changes, therefore we go to fun.

For example, Xbal. His Rising Jaguar is stuck in a design trap where increasing the damage would make it a nearly unavoidable, heavy hitting AoE nuke. But right now, it's nearly useless, especially when Poison Darts creates only a difference of around 50+ damage.

Edit: Edit, I meant taking the mana and time to hit with Poison Darts first isn't worth it.

(This isn't the ADC thread, I know, but it's the first example I thought of.)

Personally, I think the gods themselves are really fun. True, I don't play them all, but the gods themselves are not the problem of the occasional lack of fun. It's the fact that Domination has been removed and the meta, which I simply don't like. I think we should spend more time discussing the meta itself and not the gods. I'm not saying that there's no room for imporvment in this aspect, but it's not the biggest issue at the moment.
