"Predict the ult and change your playstyle." Hello, generic advice. It doesn't matter if you can see the ultimate coming. Unless you're going to sit in base all game, you are going to be hit by it, and you can't counter it. This isn't something like Fitz's ult which can be reliable juked, it's something that you literally cannot avoid. Are you seriously asking me to "predict and avoid" Waxing Moon?

Not to mention, when there is some counterplay involved, Smite goes way over the top to punish those who dare to be hit by something that's counterable. Like Scylla's ult, or Ao's ult, or Ra's ult, Vulcan's ult, etc.

@Starkill619: Magi's Blessing doesn't do ****. Neither does beads. They aren't counters, they're ways to make sure that you can do something when you need to. The difference between the two is the difference between an actual plan versus a one-shot fail-safe.

The idea of "countering" an ability with beads and/or magi's blessing is stupid. There is so much damn CC in this game that trying to counter a single ability makes zero sense. Here's a typical team: Chaac, Apollo, Ne Zha, Ymir, and Scylla. All of this have major CC that you will want to cleanse out of. Ne Zha wrap into Ymir stun into Scylla slow into Apollo's ult into Chaac's ult into Scylla root into Chaac slow into Ymir slow into Apollo mez into Ne Zha's slow into Ne Zha's ult, or something like that.

In League, their equivalent of the Magi's has the notable upgrade of acting like Purification Beads; you can control exactly when you are cleansed. That gives flexibility that Magi's lacks. Magi's, in its current state, can only be used to initiate or counter enemy initiations. Anything after the first second of a teamfight will still hit you, regardless.

Here is why that works in League but not in Smite: CC is less common and more counterable by other means. For example, you have no choice but to buy Aegis Amulet against something like a Desert Fury. In League, you can actually juke that ****, or buy something like Mercurial Scimitar (And yes, unlike Smite, it is possible to actually counter something with an item). Try juking an Ao Kuang ult when in a jungle lane, or a Earthshaker from a Vulcan who knows how to use it.

Things also do way less damage in League. For example, they have no AoE spells that can instantly half a squishy's health. Anything that deals massive damage or CC has some kind of restriction, unlike Smite, and exploiting those restrictions is the basis of counterplay.

Now, compare that to Smite. You're guaranteed to burn your beads and Magi's, and congrats, you avoided two out of the eight CC abilities the enemy team has. All the "skill" in this game revolves around timing and planning, not juking or dueling or counterplay, with the exception of basic attackers.

@Greenevers: Dude, Karthus' ult has this big glowing thing hover over your character. There is absolutely no need for s sound, and you clearly haven't seen Karthus use his ult before, because this is VERY noticeable.

Also, see note about things in non-Smite Mobas dealing less damage. Karthus' ult isn't like a ****ing Ra beam where the damage output makes it best used everywhere anytime. It doesn't deal that much damage and is more of a Neith ult.

Are you dumb? Did you seriously say that beads don't do ****? That made me lol so ****ing hard. Without a stun or root, I'm a Monster is very hard to land, and then you can still juke it by jumping or dashing, since most gods have an escape/jump etc. It negates the 3 second silence from Chaac ulti. You can chase a Kumbhakarna who used his mez so on so on.

You need Aegis to dodge Desert Fury? Dude, I wonder if you even play this game. You can easily juke a lot, at least a few of those spears. If you can't you're just bad at smite. Why do you think most gods have a jump? To counter the ultimates you just mentioned. I wonder if you even read your post before you posted it.

There is no juking? How about duking Heart Bomb? Stinger? Mummify? Tidal Surge? Chain Lightning? Celestial Beam? Searing Pain? Sic 'Em? Spirit Arrow? Spirit Ball? Again, I can go on and on about your weak argument about juking.

Well, someone got two scoops of self-esteem in their raisin bran this morning.

You've clearly haven't been playing this game much. In a duel, the enemy's still going to be dealing damage to you; in a teamfight, you'll be instantly CC'd by the other seven or eight abilities left.

As for the Anhur comment, that right there is proof that you have no idea what's your talking about. If you get Pillar-stunned, you CAN'T avoid it. You can't juke it when it goes through minions and has one of the fastest projectile speeds in the game. And that's not even factoring in other enemy gods or if Anhur bodyblocks you. And if you can't pillar stun reliably, you're not playing Anhur right.

Juking? There is no juking in this game. Stop listing individual skills and start looking at kits. Heart Bomb is undodgeable when you factor in the slow from Fields Of Love - CC that can't be beads'd out of, unless you want to be hit by the Mez/Stun. Stinger...I'll give you that one. Mummify can't be juked outside of pure luck or the enemy being incompetent, it moves way too fast, not to mention, it is completely unnecessary most of the time. Tidal Surge is undodgable, because no Pos with a brain would ever use it by itself. chain lightining is a homing attack that can't be dodged, and I have no idea why you listed it. Celestial Beam can be juked, but only at range - the real threat is the combo with Divine Light. Searing Pain is another example of it being dependent on the enemy instead of you. Sic 'Em is a joke to hit with when your enemy has a 30% slow, and the projectile by itself isn't hard to hit with, especially when you can just aim at a mass of enemies and root three of them when it's leveled up. Spirit Arrow goes through enemies and can't be dodged if the Neith who's firing it has a clue. Spirit Ball can't be juked at point-blank range, and is hard to juke at medium-long range if the enemy Isis knows what she's doing.

All of these, you would realize if you were actually a competent Smite player and played against competent enemies. In short, adults are talking, so don't interrupt.

*Unlike Lux's ult, there is no indicator of where the beam is going to go - and therefore little counterplay potential when being used as a sniping tool. And as a dueling tool, the slow from blinding light is more than enough to guarantee a hit.

Wtf are you talking about, this hasn't got anything to do with the subject

If you get hit by those abilities, you're dumb and can't play smite for ****. When you get CC'd, you beads out and gtfo. You don't stay around to get hit by another CC ability.

Don't get pillar stunned then. If you keep moving, there is no way you'll get hit by it. The only way you can if when you're standing still or lining yourself up to start clearing. Even then, you can beads out the stun and dash out.

It can't be beads'd out of? LOL! Ever heard of sprint? Ever heard of beads which cleanses cripples so you can dash out? Think before you write something stupid like this.
Subzero008 wrote:

This is by far the most stupid answer of all of these. Dodging the mummify requires skill and is very very do-able. It's unnecessary? Have you ever used Plague of Locust for 2 seconds without the stun? You get a lot more damage if the enemy is stunned. It really suprises me that you don't think of something extremely obvious like that.
Subzero008 wrote:

Dude, wtf are you talking about? When he fires it at you, you can easily dodge it. When it hits minions, you have to be lucky to not get hit by it yes, but when used by itself you can dodge it.
Subzero008 wrote:

This is just dumb. When you use Crush and Sic 'Em after eachother, you'll be out of Crush before you even hit Sic 'Em. Remember that Crush has casting time as well.
Subzero008 wrote:

Well, nothing can be juked at point-blank range, not even in LoL I'm sure. And spirit ball is a huge bal. You know where it is going and do juke it you walk in the opposite direction. It's easy to dodge at long range. Or you can jump away.

This is straightup offensive. Age has nothing to do with this matter and you don't even know how competent me or my enemies are. Saying things like this are just as immature as 9 year olds. You should stop saying things you don't know anything about.

Okay...you're dumb. Like, this-conversation-is-pointless kind of dumb. The Don't-get-metaphors kind of dumb. The does-not-actually-read-posts kind of dumb.

I'm not even going to bother to reply to you anymore. You're dumb. I'm done.

PS: Don't copy me.

Lol. This proves age really doesn't matter on the internet. Everyone can eb immature.
If someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean he's dumb. Maybe they forgot to teach you that in kindergarten.

neither of you two know each others age and no, from just typing you can not figure that out.

the two of you dont agree on an oppinion that is no reason to insult each other like that.

no neither of you are right and if one if you is then stop trying to be right.

the reason is because you two are both doing nothing but calling eachother children because the two of you dont agree over something which is really dumb and you know that is what i ment.

both of you have been very disrespectful towards eachother and you have gotten to the point where you are not even argueing anymore.

neither of you is the bigger person and both of you need to stop this discussion

neither of you is right or both of you are right, but neither of you are going to be right and both of you should stop trying to be.

does this make my point clear you two? you are going to stop this **** trow contest and move on with what ever you two want because this discussion has stopped a long time ago and i dont want to see either of you calling each other names here again.
never forget dawngate and never forgive EA. Freia will hunt them for eternity.
