Hello, This is my 1st Build on smite fire. I wanted to create this as my personal take on Bellona. I was asked about builds and tips as I am currently number one on console in ranked on Bellona. I be no means think I am the greatest player but I do think I know a lot about the character and do well with her.
I am currently number one Bellona in ranked on console.
Please keep in mind this is a Suggested build, this will not win you every game nor should you build these exact items in this exact order every game.
That being said I still hope the build is helpful and you enjoy reading my input.
I find playing Bellona building my core is always most important. this means Warriors blessing, and round shield, than any potions ill need until 1st Back.
once I have 1050 coins I will back and buy Berserker's Shield. This will give you the sustain you will need as bellonas hammer can heal off the whole wave at the same time. I do this even when facing mages in solo lane.
After this I will always build Ninja Tabi, this will give a lot to Bellona as she is mainly an auto attack champion. making your damage output a lot higher with autos, procing your shield passive skill more often, and heal you faster from wave to out clear enemies.
After this my build will often branch in many different directions depending on my opponents and what I will need to beat them. for example when facing a regular warrior solo laner i will stick close to my normal build path however if I am against a magical solo laner I will rush Pestilence or Hardward amulet to give myself proper magical defense.
Other very important items almost always being put in my build are,
Golden Blade- This gives amazingly fast clear and makes all abilities feel as strong as your hammer.
Hastened Katakana- This speed when autoing enemies lets you stick to your opponents like glue it is super important to do because of bellonas mostly auto ability damage.
Frostbound Hammer- this very much like Hastened Katakana will keep you on your enemies by slowing them down, as well as giving you the extra HP you need to stick into the fight using your shield.
Other than the core build my builds may very every game. But these items are what frequent my builds often.
A very important thing about Bellonas skills is that you do not need to spam them, other than trying to burst your opponent to get kills when necessary you do not need to switch often. I will give an example when it is best to be in each state.
Hammer- Yes this is your strongest damage skill, it will be used to clear wave quickly and hit your opponent at the same time while hiding behind minions so they can not hit you back. Do not always stay in this state however because you are really selling the other skills short if you do.
Whip- the whip is great to use when you notice you are lower on health than your enemy, when wave and your enemy are approaching, hit them with the whip ability, this will stop them for autoing for a few seconds, and clear the wave with your whip. most the time you can gain at least 300 to 500 health doing this midgame. it is also giving you advantage in clear by silencing your opponent. this part of the ability is also fantastic for protection, when retreating hit enemy auto junglers attacking you, it will often save your life stooping there autos for a few seconds.
Shield- This is a very underestimated ability when it comes to 1v1 brawling. it will absorb a single auto attack for every 3 successful basics you land, at first this does not seem like much. but added up over a long fight blocking 10 autos per 30 strikes is an insane amount of defense. I always use this to brawl when me and my opponent go head to head with no other protection. Otherwise this skills dash is fantastic to catch up to enemies or quickly dodge enemy abilities.
Ultimate- This skill is best to be saved for sticky situations, it will almost always save you from being pushed under enemy towers, as well as escaping from enemy ganks. However if you feel confident it is a fantastic tool to use to initiate team fights, save Allies and get close when an enemy is low health to finish them off. this skill is pretty strait forward but not the easiest to land. use it sparingly because it is very good as an escape or kill secure.
