If you really think starting with Talon Trinket and 2 pots its a good idea, you can do it, but it's too risky and you'll lack healing and mana sustain.
I'll talk about Warlock staff later in the guide.
You should pick 1 or 2 from the flat penetration items, and always take Obsidian Shard since % penetration its really important when fighting tanky enemies.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Eset built with lifesteal its pretty insane. With all the damage she deals with Wing Gust, having bancroft's allows her to heal for like 200-300 (variating in the item passive). Also, she has an AOE basic attack, which also boosts her healing. |
Shoes of the Magi altough receiving a slight nerf, is still my go-to movement speed option. It still gives a lot of power for such a cheap item, and it gives potential for an early kill. |
However, Shoes of Focus is good for a less-agressive early game but a pay-off in the late game as you could have 10% more CDR, or additional power if you build Book of Thoth. |
Eset has the best/fastest clear in the game, period. This directly affects her incredible capability of build stacks very fast. Book of Thoth gives Eset a lot of mana sustain and of course damage to stay around for longer and do more damage (duh). |
Warlock's Staff its anywhere but close to the meta. 100 last hits on minion waves which only bring 6 minions its way too hard. But in the other hand we have isis, which having such a speedy clear, can make this item work, granting herself some artificial tankiness (+500 health) and a good ammount of damage (+115 magical power). |
Spear of Desolation its your go-to penetration item in all mages. Relatively cheap item that guarantees a lot of things (+100 magical power, +15 penetration, 10% CDR, CDR passive). With penetration being such a needed stat in this meta and this whole game, this item is perfect for you. |
This other penetration item is very useful, but it's not recommended for every single mage in this game. (Gods that can't take good advantage of the passive like Discordia, Chang'e, Ra and The Morrigan). Since the useful part of this item is the subsequent damage increease from the passive and Isis' Wing Gust hits 4 times in a short ammount of time, this is an great item for Eset. |
Divine Ruin its a really useful item against characters with powerful healing like Aphrodite, Chang'e, Baron Samedi, Hel, Terra, Sylvanus and Ra, between others. If you're facing someone of these, you have to get this item. |
[*] Good clear [*] Good poke [*] Very good teamfight [*] Great jungle camp clear [*] Best objective secure in game [*] Really good crowd control [*] Killing capabilities without ult [*] Unstoppable if snowballed |
[*] Not a CC immune ultimate [*] Not great mobility (No dash or leap) [*] Squishy [*] Mana hungry [*] Bad from behind |
You can detonate Circle of Protection and Spirit Ball while using your Wing Gust or you can press 4 and 2 at the same time and these will detonate at the same time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One of Isis' taunts, "I see dead people.. Looks like you are next!", is a reference to a famous scene from the movie The Sixth Sense.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before Tyr was released, Eset' was the only character that could deal magical damage with her basic attacks. (All other were physical).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you catch 2 minion waves inside Dispel Magic, isis stacks 1300 MAGICAL PROTECTIONS! That's more than the most physical protections + magical protections TOGETHER that you can get with items!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Back in the day, Eset' used to lose all her stacks on Funeral Rites everytime she dead. (That was insanely frustrating).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When The Morrigan was first released, if Eset' (or anybody) killed the decoy, or the decoy would just die over time by itself, Funeral Rites would receive a stack.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also, about The Morrigan, back in the day when she used to transform in a god and go back in herself, the god that died would also add a stack to Funeral Rites. Lmao..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you activate Circle of Protection while being in danger, you can stand in the center of the staff and damage your enemies from there with your Spirit Ball (since it has a really good range). You will raise the charge of your ultimate and receive a huge heal.
Also, intelligent players won't stand on your ultimate ability, since they should know they can get 1-shotted by Circle of Protection itself.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Isis is the only mage in the game to start and finish with 1.0 attack speed, and she is the only mage in the game to have an AoE basic attack in her progression.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Isis used to have the highest mana costs in the whole game Wing Gust 100 at max rank, Spirit Ball 110 at max rank, Dispel Magic 110 at max rank, and Circle of Protection 100 at all ranks.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eset' Circle of Protection in the game's first seasons, could not be charged with the Fire giant damage.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eset used to gain 1.8 magical protection for each level back in the day.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SMITE beta's Eset was practically the worst in the game. Wing Gust had no root/knockback immunity, Spirit Ball couldn't be detonate at minimum range and Circle of Protection used to take 10 seconds to charge completely.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eset' lore was missing until april 16, 2014.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eset' early game is disgusting. She can do what she wants! she rules mid lane in the early game.
Why?
Wing Gust with mage's blessing (or bancroft's tier 2, or Book of Souls, hits for easily 200 damage.
Spirit Ball has increased damage over range, which means that poking your enemy from maximum range will hit them for at least 130 damage, depending on your build.
Dispel Magic leaves enemies with almost no protections, and makes Eset very very hard to kill.
Circle of Protection it's just no fair. It's broken in every stage of the game lol.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eset' mid game gets dependant on what she did on the early game. If isis could snowball, she will be unstoppable. If she didn't, she'll not be that good, but she'll still be valuable.
Why?
Isis has not an instant burst, and 2 of her 3 damaging abilities rely on the range or charged ammount to do a lot of damage. If isis snowballed, she will be fine. She can kill enemies by her own self peeling inside Circle of Protection with [[spirit ball].
Now, if you haven't snowballed your performance will be a little worse, since you won't hit sooo hard even if you charge Circle of Protection fully, or hit Spirit Ball from maximum range. I say that she's still valuable because she can do more things than that, though.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eset' late game is not sane. It's just boring to fight against a GOOD Eset in the late game. She hits insanely hard while having utility CC abilities.
Why?
Wing Gust hits for 1000 damage (without counting the situational protection reduction in Spear of the Magus.
Spirit Ball at minimum range is already hitting for 800-900 damage, and in max range at almost 1200 damage.
Dispel Magic transforms into a peel tool and into a self-saving tool too. The AoE protection reduction, silence and slow its perfect for teamfights and also for zoning.
and then we have momma Circle of Protection, hitting for 2000-3000 damage when fully charged. (While offering damage mitigation and heals).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well that's all !
I hope you enjoyed and make good use of these tips for Eset. Have a nice day!

New patch arrived. Items received nerfs and some received buffs. The guide has been updated to embrace all of the new utilities in the items, and Ethereal Staff was added in a build, due to recent buffs. Still looking forward in the future to see this item's performance.
Isis' Circle of Protection was nerfed.
Damage mitigation was brought down from 25% to 20%. This applies to all ranks.
9/8/19:
Guide correction: Fixed Dispel Magic, Circle of Protection and Funeral Rites showing the old stats from patch 6.7.
25/7/19:
Funeral Rites: Increased Range from 30 to 40 units.

Removed the postfire from this ability ( Spirit Ball) (from 0.1 to 0)
Dispel Magic: Dispel Magic no longer provides a boost to Magical Protection. It instead provides a shield to Isis and nearby allies. This shield is applied within 40 units of Isis or the dispelled target.
Shield Health :90/130/170/210/250 + 40% increased potency per additional target hit.
This caps at +80% potency (3 gods hit).
The duration remains unchanged.

And yeah Magus should be removed. It wasn't even that good on Isis pre-rework, as it only sometimes would stack allright with the 1 if you hit all of the hits (of which there are only 4).

Spear of the Magus isn't a good item for Eset anymore, since you can't use Magus' passive to combo Wing Gust and Spirit Ball with increased damage.
Also, Charon's Coin should replace Obsidian Shard in all builds as the 20% pen item. Has better stats overall and it's almost the same cost.
Finally, I don't think Lotus Crown is a viable defense pickup at all, because you'll only be able to benefit from the passive with Circle of Protection.
About Charon's Coin, i honestly never tried the item, i didn't love the passive or the low power but i might as well include it if you say it's good.
I don't know how Lotus crown got into this guide. It might have been a mistake, or something i thought could work or me being dumb lol. But i will change it as soon as possible.

I mean, it has 10 more power than Obs Shard, so not sure what you mean by "low power". Passive is more of a side thing, hp5 isn't that useful though the movement speed isn't too bad if it procs. Also got mp5, and Obs Shard's passive supposedly gets procced on minions so that's pretty trash, i'd always pick up Charon's over it.
As with some of my comments on some other guides of yours, I think providing not just a build example (or few), it helps to categorize item options. Just listing builds with no explanation is just not that helpful, IMO.
Regarding Bancroft's Talon, I personally wouldn't build it on her. Yes, lifesteal can be really nice, but for a god like Eset, I would personally prefer either of Soul Gem or Pythagorem's Piece. Although Soul Gem makes an appearance in 2 of your builds, Pythag's is nowhere to be seen, and that makes me very sad.
Just in case you don't know, lifesteal has a 0.33x coefficient when you're dealing with AOE/multi-hit abilities. Her 1, 2, 4, and multi-hit basic all do that, meaning she only gets 1/3 of the lifesteal she might get if the ability/basic was single-target. This means, at base value, Bancroft's 15% lifesteal is only 5%. In addition, although she does need to be at mid-range for Wing Gust, she deals a lot of her damage via poke, so isn't going to be one of the gods to get best-use out of Bancroft's, IMO.
SG is a better choice because of the burst damage potential, and for the flat heal it can provide. Pythag's is, IMO, a very underrated item. Isis doesn't want to do things alone too much, and her kit means she really wants some teammates around, so the aura of power/lifesteal boost is quite helpful, even if you don't see the effect yourself. It's for this reason it's underrated.
Bancroft's early also means you delay getting CDR. I personally would get Shoes and Chronos' before anything else if I didn't choose to go BoT, just to give her as much poke potential as possible. I would rely early on Healing Potions for health sustain, and get lifesteal mid/late-build (e.g. 4th/5th).
I like the effort you put into writing the guide.
CDR options:
Chronos' Pendant
Soul Gem
Pen options:
Spear of Desolation
Spear of the Magus
Divine Ruin
And then giving an example build or two? I think i got that. I'll work on it now
I personally never liked Pythagorem's Piece. I see its a good item for sustain, but is it really worthy being one of the less-power items for a mage? Soul gem gives 5 less magical power, but it gives you a high damage boost with the passive, and good sustain.
But to the point, i have always seen Pythagorem's Piece as a support-ish item. I'd place it in gods that are tanky, but solo laners ( Artio, Terra, Sobek, etc) since supports should go full defense.
I had no idea of the 0.33x thing... That makes bancrofts a little bit less useful. But its an item that i love... And i just don't know, Wing Gust deals way too much damage and you can heal a lot in a minion wave. It might not be really useful, since well, that 0.33x its kinda frustrating but hey, it's still artificial sustain, right?
I love Soul Gem. It gives some HP ( Eset has low base hp), power, and lifesteal (but we're going back to that point) and CDR. Bancroft's Talon + Soul Gem it's an insane ammount of healing.

I don't understand what you're trying to say there.. I did read all your comments on my guides but i'm not sure what you're refering too if you could explain to me lol, i'm working on my english.
I like the effort you put into writing the guide.
Thank you!
2x lifesteal items just feel like they dedicate too much to your build that it hurts damage or utility you could otherwise have had from other items. But I get the allure.
Just really suggest not underselling Pythag's. It's great for a teamfight. Yes, it has a bit more of a Support feel, but you can't tell me that 200 health and 24% base lifesteal isn't appreciated. And again, it's really depending on god. I wouldn't get Pythag's on He Bo or Ao Kuang, for example. Either SG or Pythag's is great for Eset, who benefits greatly from being near teammates. Her revised kit (active as of tomorrow's Mid-Season patch) gives her even MORE reason to want to be with teammates, and that's a strong argument for Pythag's, if you can fit it in the build.
And you're probably going to find some people that want to play a Support Isis. I know this isn't a Support build, but still feel it's worthy of mention as a situational/optional item.
Don't you mean should NOT be warding these places?
Amazing arts and descriptions
