Decoy | Aimed Strike |
Need I say why? Alright then. These boots are practically the only ones you should get for Loki as he needs the extra power. |
Simple enough, power and pen and some CDR which is quite handy. Also a good chunk of Mana to help you along the way. |
Speaking of more power comes along this beauty which allows you to deal 30% more damage for each ability you use for 1 AA. Now with this and Behind You! that's 50% more damage...Which is a lot! Also, CDR....'Nuff said. |
Whether they've got a healer or not, this is a rather handy pick up. The pen is nice and the power is sublime and not the mention the anti-healing can really stop lifesteal and health pots. |
This nifty thing grants more movement and defence stealing. Allowing you to safely stick to more targets without having to take too much damage. |
The item most people get when playing Solo lane with Loki. Mana and Power are nice and the MP5 is just a bonus. Perfect pick up. I'd recommend picking this up after boots if you wish to use it. |
If you're looking for a pure defence item I can only really recommend this. Not much else works for Loki and this is a relatively strong pick up, 20 magic and physical protection and giving you a max of 60 protection below half health and 60 power above half health. |
TIP #1: Towers? What are those?
As Loki, towers are nothing compare to you. You can annihilate them with a single wave and safely get out if need be. Split push whenever you have nothing to do as you can get away with it most times.
TIP #2: Cleanup Crew, coming through!
You're an assassin, not a warrior. Never initiate and always act as cleanup crew. Get the stragglers or the ones that have half health and are at the back of the group. Don't waste your ult though if you know you're Vanish + Aimed Strike will kill them.
TIP #3: Paranoid much?
Don't be predictable with your combos, most people will predict and use Purification and Sanctuary to counter you. Simply use Vanish and act as if you're walking towards them, you can get them to waste abilities or even relics which is awesome.
Playing Loki is rather easy, but mastering him can take a good while. Play like a trickster and bait people's relics and you may just get rewarded with a nice juicy back.
As always, my name is Sodsboy and Happy Hunting.

P.S After the last update I have build bloodforge in ranked too with my build, well it works well, yet I think it's for some hunters like Ah Muzen Cab to survive.

Bloodforge is for kill happy assassins (*cough* Loki *cough*) who need to get in, kill a target and leave.

I am not sure, I found that item very entertaining since, I used to build SCS as the last item, replacing it with Bloodforge and using Brawler's instead of Hydra's wasn't a bad idea in general. Yet I prefer to not use it.
You get some lifesteal out of the deal, but that's a marginal stat for Loki.
I tested it, and since all other items are core, it can only be replaced by The Crusher / Brawler's Beat Stick as last item.
Since it's a very expensive item, you would not want to buy it sooner anyway, unless you are really fed.
If we compare only stats, The Crusher / Brawler's Beat Stick win over Bloodforge on the damage dealt.
However, the passive of Bloodforge is more useful.
So, if you think you need this shield to survive your "little job", then yes, it's a good option.
However, 400 hp is not going to save you if you are caught during a teamfight.
The other option I could see is to replace Transcendence by Bloodforge in Conquest.
You will trade few power for that passive, but you may have some mana issues during the game I guess.
Personally, I don't think the item is worth it's price, not on Loki at least.

Nope, the only option is to replace Hydra's Lament with Bloodforge, since you need pen and power so bad. And yes 400 HP on Loki is enough to wait Vanish CDR + The movement speed, which may help you survive even without Vanish
That doesn't make sense.
You replace Hydra's Lament and lose 15% CDR (and thus, have 2.25 sec more on Vanish CD) in order to get a shield that you hope will allow you to wait for your next Vanish.
If you really need Vanish to get out, you should go CDR and not rely on getting a shield upon a killing blow.
Also, note that if you get kill stealed, you won't get the shield that would have saved your life.
Plus, Hydra's Lament is giving you more damage than Bloodforge, because of your 2 basic attacks done in a row (sometimes 3 if you throw your ult).
Finally, note that I said it would not be optimal to include it in the build, but it could be "considered".
I know Loki needs pen and power so bad, but if we had to replace one of his core item, it would be The Crusher / Brawler's Beat Stick before Hydra's Lament.

That's what I tell you, you lose a lot of Pen/Power, and in order to fill it up you need to leave one pen item as it is, that's why you need to replace Hydra's, yet it's very playable without that much pen, I like the idea of buying Bloodforge as the 6th item, but it's very very hard without pen to play, but if you know what are you doing, it's not.

I think of it as more of a snowball item, if your snowballing, go ahead and pick it up, if not, then dont.

I build Bloodforge only when I feel Happy Trigger, as I said with its solid build with a lot of pen.
@gibzy They're recommendations, take them as you will but that's what I suggest.
Speaking of which, Heartseeker is bad on loki, you wont have time to build it up until you kill your target.
Loki is supposed to be only built with bursty items, not aa ones, which rules rage and db off the list.
You should not use your decoy to get damage on a god, he can just leave the radius, However, using it to distract the minions while you ult and assassinate a target is a good option.
Your also lacking reasons as to why you chose your items.
And also, You don't mention how to play with him in teamfights.
