Introduction

Howdy folks, my name is Sodsboy and today I am giving you a new and improved guide for the one....The only...LOKI!

Pros & Cons

PROS
Great wave clear with Decoy
Insane burst damage
Can create paranoia easily
Incredibly easy to learn
CONS
If he falls behind, he won't be coming back for a while
Great players can counter him easily
Not competitively viable
CC ends him

Abilities

Decoy Aimed Strike

Passive: Behind You!

Loki deals more damage from his basic attacks when hitting enemies from behind. His basic attacks also utilize a five swing progressive chain.

Ability Type: Buff
Bonus Damage: 20%

As Loki, you should be noting this down all the time. Always try and stab someone in the backside to maximize your damage efficiency.

Ability 1: Vanish

Loki disappears in a puff of smoke. While invisible, he moves faster, removes and gains immunity to slow effects and takes 25% less damage. His next basic attack from stealth (or for 2s after) applies a bleed to his target, dealing damage every .5s and reveals Loki.

Ability Type: Melee Target
Damage per Tick: 30 / 45 / 60 / 75 / 90 (+25% of your physical power)
Maximum Damage: 120 / 180 / 240 / 300 / 360 (+100% of your physical power)
Damage Duration: 2s
Stealth Duration: 4s
Stealth Movement Speed: 35%
Cost: 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 / 90
Cooldown: 15s

Now this is what makes Loki annoying and yet so much fun. You basically go invisible for 4 seconds and has the ability to move faster, take less damage and become immune to slows. Use this to safely put down Decoy or to set up for your main combo.

Ability 2: decoyDecoy

Loki spawns a decoy version of himself that taunts all nearby enemy minions. After a short time, the decoy explodes dealing damage to all enemies in the radius.

Ability Type: Ground Target
Damage: 75 / 125 / 175 / 225 / 275 (+100% of your physical power)
Decoy Lifetime: 3s
Radius: 20
Cost: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80
Cooldown: 14s

His main way of clearing lane and probably the best. He taunts minions to attack the decoy and then sends them straight to Valhalla with a bang. Use this to clear waves and get some free hits at a buff camp from behind.

Ability 3: Aimed StrikeAimed Strike

Upon activation, Loki's next basic attack does additional damage within a short time. The enemy hit is also slowed.

Ability Type: Buff
Damage: 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+100% of your physical power)
Buff Lifetime: 5s
Slow: 25%
Slow Duration: 3s
Cost: 50
Cooldown: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8s

The main burst from Loki's damage will come from this ability which can add on 220 to his regular attack and slow. Abuse this when you can and always try to get a sneaky back stab with it.

Ultimate: Assassinate

Upon activation, Loki teleports to his ground target location. If an enemy god is within the radius, Loki will backstab that target doing damage and stunning them.

Ability Type: Teleport
Damage: 150 / 225 / 300 / 375 / 450 (+120% of your physical power)
Stun: 1s
Cost: 100
Cooldown: 90s

Ah Assassinate, how fun you are to use. You basically get a free hit in from using this and can half health most squishies if used on them. Don't bother using this on tanks unless you've got a good amount of pen to your name.

Items

Need I say why? Alright then. These boots are practically the only ones you should get for Loki as he needs the extra power.
Simple enough, power and pen and some CDR which is quite handy. Also a good chunk of Mana to help you along the way.
Now you're probably wondering why get this early on? Reason being is that by the time you're getting this, most people will have some defence bar ADC and Mid for obvious reasons. This will help you combat against the tanks and solo lane.
Speaking of more power comes along this beauty which allows you to deal 30% more damage for each ability you use for 1 AA. Now with this and Behind You! that's 50% more damage...Which is a lot! Also, CDR....'Nuff said.
With the new and improved bloodforge. This rewards Loki for what he does good at, killing. A healthy shield plus movement speed allows you to get a kill and survive the aftermath. And the lifesteal is a rather nice addition.
Whether they've got a healer or not, this is a rather handy pick up. The pen is nice and the power is sublime and not the mention the anti-healing can really stop lifesteal and health pots.

Alternative Items

This nifty thing grants more movement and defence stealing. Allowing you to safely stick to more targets without having to take too much damage.
The item most people get when playing Solo lane with Loki. Mana and Power are nice and the MP5 is just a bonus. Perfect pick up. I'd recommend picking this up after boots if you wish to use it.
Now considering this trickster doesn't have the biggest health pool, this'll allow you to shred tanks that dare decide to build health. More power for the difference in health is great and the movement speed allows you to stick like glue.
If you're looking for a pure defence item I can only really recommend this. Not much else works for Loki and this is a relatively strong pick up, 20 magic and physical protection and giving you a max of 60 protection below half health and 60 power above half health.

Tips and Tricks

TIP #1: Towers? What are those?
As Loki, towers are nothing compare to you. You can annihilate them with a single wave and safely get out if need be. Split push whenever you have nothing to do as you can get away with it most times.

TIP #2: Cleanup Crew, coming through!
You're an assassin, not a warrior. Never initiate and always act as cleanup crew. Get the stragglers or the ones that have half health and are at the back of the group. Don't waste your ult though if you know you're Vanish + Aimed Strike will kill them.

TIP #3: Paranoid much?
Don't be predictable with your combos, most people will predict and use Purification and Sanctuary to counter you. Simply use Vanish and act as if you're walking towards them, you can get them to waste abilities or even relics which is awesome.

Conclusion

Playing Loki is rather easy, but mastering him can take a good while. Play like a trickster and bait people's relics and you may just get rewarded with a nice juicy back.

As always, my name is Sodsboy and Happy Hunting.

Yeah, Building Bloodforge on Loki isn't the best idea, yet you can do it but not as you have shown to us, none of your builds are good sorry, you need trans there and take away Hydra's Lament, Check my builds if you are interested, plus Lifesteal doesn't impacts on Loki in any aspect, the thing is its passive which helps you to survive, you have to make a choice you need HIGH CDR for often using of your fist, or the bloodforge, it's all up to players.

P.S After the last update I have build bloodforge in ranked too with my build, well it works well, yet I think it's for some hunters like Ah Muzen Cab to survive.

Bloodforge is for kill happy assassins (*cough* Loki *cough*) who need to get in, kill a target and leave.

I am not sure, I found that item very entertaining since, I used to build SCS as the last item, replacing it with Bloodforge and using Brawler's instead of Hydra's wasn't a bad idea in general. Yet I prefer to not use it.

Since Patch 3.8, Bloodforge might be considered on Loki, because it's high power and nice passive.
You get some lifesteal out of the deal, but that's a marginal stat for Loki.

I tested it, and since all other items are core, it can only be replaced by The Crusher / Brawler's Beat Stick as last item.
Since it's a very expensive item, you would not want to buy it sooner anyway, unless you are really fed.

If we compare only stats, The Crusher / Brawler's Beat Stick win over Bloodforge on the damage dealt.
However, the passive of Bloodforge is more useful.
So, if you think you need this shield to survive your "little job", then yes, it's a good option.
However, 400 hp is not going to save you if you are caught during a teamfight.

The other option I could see is to replace Transcendence by Bloodforge in Conquest.
You will trade few power for that passive, but you may have some mana issues during the game I guess.

Personally, I don't think the item is worth it's price, not on Loki at least.

@Ducks Okay I understand what you're saying but in all honesty most items are their as recommendations for people to try, if they don't like the build then they can alter it to how they see fit. Anyway, I'll change it when I have time. Also about the decoy thing, It's free damage if they walk through it, doubted most people do that but on the off chance someone does then that's free damage on them. I never said to use decoy on the god.

@gibzy They're recommendations, take them as you will but that's what I suggest.

Loki is not and AA god. Stop building attack speed, lifesteal and bs like that on him! Yes his damage comes only from AA, but it should be from ONE auto. No def, all burst damage is the only way to go for Loki since forever.

That build is bad. You shouldn't build lifesteal on Loki as it holds almost no value, Loki exists for bursting targets down and getting out, Lifesteal won't help you, as your abilities are your main sorce of damage.

Speaking of which, Heartseeker is bad on loki, you wont have time to build it up until you kill your target.

Loki is supposed to be only built with bursty items, not aa ones, which rules rage and db off the list.

You should not use your decoy to get damage on a god, he can just leave the radius, However, using it to distract the minions while you ult and assassinate a target is a good option.

Your also lacking reasons as to why you chose your items.

And also, You don't mention how to play with him in teamfights.

4.5/10
