Da ji - Combos

To execute this combo successfully, activate One Thousand Cuts when near an opponent. Then after the duration pop basics due to Hydra's Lament proc to deal bonus damage. After that pop Horrible Burns before doing Trickster Spirit. Then pop Trickster Spirit to catch up with the enemy and deal damage. Then end it of with Horrible Burns.

This is used commonly in team fights. What you do in a team fights that you go behind the enemy and pop Paolao so that they don't expect a ult right behind them. With Paolao try to target the main damage dealers. This allows your team to focus on them and allow you to tank out the rest of the team with ease. Then after the pull pop One Thousand Cuts to do insane damage and probably get some kills off of it.

Grants the player extra movement speed and power. Always get this item first no matter what build your using. This item is one of the important and core items for ability based assassins. This would be no excuse for why you should build this on Da Ji. Giving extra movement speed being the most important key stat in the game and the 40 extra power really helps early with her strength in early game.
This item grants the player extra power, mana, pen, and CDR. Get this as a second or 3rd item if you want be more aggressive for defensive early. This a core item for Da Ji for the mana that a course always needed for assassins having the lowest mana pool, and especially mana consumption is high on Assassins. The extra pen helps early game if the enemy are rushing defense early allowing you to do reasonable amount of damage. The extra power is also nice allowing to do more scaling on your abilities also helps with your One Thousand Cuts early game that allows you to lane clear easier. The extra CDR also helps you to pull off more abilities so boxing situations you have the advantage to able to activate abilities quicker than the enemy.
This item grants the player extra power, and physical penetration. Obtain this item 4th or 5th determining the cost of your build late game. As said in my Ra guide this is the physical version of Obsidian Shard. This gives you extra power and a protection penetration determining how much protections they have and reduce it by 33%. This item is great for the second pen item to help do consistent damage and able to shred tanks easier.
This item grants the player extra power and penetration. Build this as your first pen item if you are facing against a healer. This is the devil to healers in the game. This items destroys their armor and reduce all their healing by 40% that's insane amount especially for early - mid game. This item works best if you have CDR allowing to constantly refreshing the duration of the item's passive. I prefer Hydra's Lament after this item to give you some CDR to help makes this item better in early game.
This item grants the player extra power and protections. Build this as your 3rd or 4th item. This item is good and probably necessary for ability based assassins. The protections is nice so that you're not get bursted down easily. Then the power from the stats and the passive helps a lot around mid game that's when Da Ji starts to get good. Also nice thing about this item is the other passive when you're low on health the bonus power turn into bonus protections allowing have a higher chances to escape on rough situations.
This item grants the player extra power and CDR. Build this as your 3rd or 4th item. Hydra's Lament is like bread and butter for Da Ji. The extra 40 power is nice to help scale your abilities and the CDR helps due Da Ji being a ability based assassin. Now this is where passives make her truly shine. The first passive allows her to burst insane damage after each ability allowing her to kill gods more quickly like Loki with his kit. The second passive that helps Da Ji the most, the bonus MP5 with missing mana helps her still able to fight allowing to participate in fights and ganks.
This item grants the player extra power and lifesteal. Build this as your last item always. Now this is where assassins get there giant power spike is from this item. The insane amount of power you get allows your abilities to scale by a decent amounts allowing you to burst down more quickly. The extra lifesteal helps when you sell off your starter to help get this item allowing to sustain even without Bumba's Mask. The passive where makes her a true monster, for every kill she gets a shield and bonus movement speed allowing you to tank more in fights allowing you deal even more damage to them. This is a luxury item so you don't want to build this early or mid game.
This item grants the player extra power, pen, and movement speed. Build this as your 4th or 5th item. A other crucial item for Da Ji the extra power helps and the passive where the insane damage comes from. When at 5 stacks your next ability does bonus damage so your One Thousand Cuts could even apply more damage allowing you to shred opponents much quicker. The extra pen helps as well allowing to deal more damage against enemies with protections. The movement speed is always nice to grab especially for a jungler. Horrible Burns does not proc Heartseeker so be careful about that while in fights and ganks.
This item grants the player extra power, and attack speed. Build this as your 2nd or 3rd item. This item is good with you want to make Da Ji more AA focused than ability focused. The attack speed helps allowing constantly refreshing Torture Blades. This item also helps build up Heartseeker allowing to do more burst. This item is only good if you want to go more AA focus on her rather ability focused. Remember don't build Titan's Bane with The Executioner you would actually do less damage.
This item grants the player extra power, and movement speed. Build this as your 3rd or 4th item. This item works well with The Executioner, due to protection reduction. This item is nice on Da Ji due to the extra power you receive helps with scaling. And extra movement speed is always nice. The extra protections you receive through your passive could also help in boxing and fighting situations allowing you to be tankier. Remember if you want to go this build path you can't build Titan's Bane due to it's passive. |
This item grants the player extra physical protections, mana and CDR Try to build as your 3rd or 4th item. This item i for all assassins to face off a physical majority team. The insane amount of protections is crazy for mid game giving you 75 is just insane. 300 mana that's equivalent to a warlock's sash. And the nerf on the CDR actually made it better able to build Jotunn's Wrath and Breastplate of Valor together is insane. So I really recommend that you pick up this item. This item makes you scary in boxing situations.
This item grants the player extra health, CCR, and magical protection. Determines on team comp if magical majority build this as your 4th or 5th item. The most common and most helpful magical protection item in the game. First the CCR makes CC based gods less effective against you allowing taking multiple second CC durations and makes the CC less effective. The extra health is always nice if you have different health items as well giving you extra health to tank with. The magical protection is nice to counter high damage magical gods like He Bo, and Scylla. Also the health shield is useful if you are trying to box or escape.
This item grants the player extra protections, and CDR. If you want to be tanky for teamfights build this as your 4th or 5th item. This item has two purposes that could help you in the jungle. One, the passive helps you run away in a tough situation where CC is shredding your health. Two, the nice amount of protections allows you to mitigate more damage. The extra CDR is also nice allowing to pull more of your abilities. The main purpose of this item is if the enemy has a lot of burst and CC this allows to escape those tough situations. |
Grants the player CC immunity for a couple of seconds. Get this relic if the enemy is heavy CC based. This relic doesn't need that much explanation. When Purification Beads is activated you become CC immune for a couple of seconds. This item is crucial to counter bunch of gods ults like Ares and Xing Tian. While Da Ji does have a CC immunity move but when that ult isn't available to use you need this relic to save you. And as Da Ji having limited mobility this is a must pick up item for Da Ji to survive in almost every game.
Grants the player damage immunity for a couple of seconds. Get this relic if the enemy has executions, lots of bursts, and global ults. This relic comes handy on lot of situations. When Aegis is activated you become damage immune for a couple of seconds. This relics could counter multiple gods like Thanatos, Ao Kuang, Nu Wa, Neith, and Loki. This relics helps Da Ji just like that due to lack of mobility burst damage based could shred him very easily. So having that extra damage immunity for couple seconds could help you in a long run.
Grants the player extra movement speed for a couple of seconds. Get this relic for emergency situations, and if the enemy teams has a lot of slows. This relic is squishy god's dream allowing them to get 40% movement speed in a instant. Allowing them to go record speeds making them a speed demon. This relic could help counter gods with insane slows. Da Ji could use this item differently, she could use this offensively you catch up to her opponents and shred them down with her abilities.
Debuffs the enemies reducing their movement and attack-speed. Get this relic if you want to as a support role. This is a simple relic to explain. When cast any surrounding enemy gods get their movement speed and their attack speed reduced. This is good against gods that have more mobility than you help help single out gods and killing them with ease. This is good on Da Ji allowing her to catch-up to high mobility gods allowing her to burst them down with no problem. |

I don't think that you should be running a basic attack focused build on an assassin that has greater burst damage and ability scalings. Da Ji is fairly unsafe compared to other basic attack assassins since she has worse mobility and survivability tools.
My first couple games I played with a full damage build, I got throttled. Now I have been playing with a tanky build in these game modes and am really enjoying it and doing much better.
I go Warrior Tabi Hide of the Urchin Jotunn's Wrath Shifter's Shield Titan's Bane then situational. I also switch Jotunn's and Shifter's around if need be. Her early damage is not very good of course, but she can take damage at least while also doing some back with her bleed damage.
I agree that One Thousand Cuts is upgraded 1st. I can see upgrading Horrible Burns next, but I personally like Trickster Spirit leveled up 2nd, due to the power scaling and it being a more consistent hit for you since it is main initiator. Horrible Burns is decent but can be hard to hit the correct target at times if teleporting into minion line where a god is. Paolao is tough to hit and can be countered easily to make it worth upgrading.
Just curious on your thoughts. Haven't played her in Conquest...granted I rarely play Conquest so I wouldn't be a good indicator if good build for that, but I am sure my tanky build wouldn't be as viable there.
So with that said, I'll clarify that I thoguht her One Thousand Cuts might have done something like the temporary Fatalis effect that Erlang and Jing (used to have) for her basics. But of course, she does 4 consecutive ability attacks, and at the finish, her move speed goes back to normal. So it has 0 to do with Fatalis and basics, which was what I was thinking about.
So basically, she's sort of like a mix between:
