Last item can vary. May want to build a protection. Personally, I prefer tacking on some more damage. I won't bother putting skill sequence. Tends to vary by player, but getting the death scythe up early may help as it can deliver a punishing critical.
I came across this build simply by trying new things in arena, where it showed tremendous success. I then tried to use it in clash, where it again proved its worth. Yet to test it in modes like conquest and joust, but I have to imagine if it worked in clash it'll be just as effective in joust (bearing the other team doesn't go straight tank against you, though regardless of your build I think you'd be kind of screwed). First build I'm putting on here so hopefully some of you find it helpful.
Pros:
- Speed: Allows you to use your ultimate against players who aren't just on the brink of death and still have a high probability of getting a kill from just basic attacking.
- Moderate damage: Despite building mostly attack speed items, this build can still deliver some decent blows.
Cons:
- Moderate damage: Both a pro and a con. If you're a player who lives off of dealing big blows over quick hits, this build is not for you.
- "No Protections": As I state in the build, pending on your game maybe instead of going damage 6th item build a protection. This would make the damage con much more prominent. As with most assassins just make sure you're wisely choosing your battles.
Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.

As such, I'll take some time to explain the issues, and allow for the creator to respond.
FYI THENatDad, not sure if you're aware, but the common builds for Thana focus mostly on his ability damage. Granted, I've seen some good players use some unconventional items for him (e.g. Hastened Katana) and do well in teamfight modes. This would not be a suggested build for Conquest, though, to be clear.
Some inefficiencies come into play when you mix true ability items (e.g. Jotunn's Wrath) with basic attack items ( Poisoned Star, Hastened Katana.
When you do build crit (which is typically not suggested on Thana), you really always want to build at least 2 crit items and get your crit chance in the realm of 50%. This makes the crit at least semi-reliable. At only 20% (soon to be 15% when Season 6 hits in a couple of weeks), you're getting very little out of it in most situations. So, either build 2 crit, or not at all (suggest not at all).
I can see Heartseeker being functional (not preferred, but can work) in a mode like Conquest, since you'll have a chance to build stacks easily with jungle camps. In teamfight modes, you won't want to expose yourself in melee range (where it'll be very easy to hit you with a variety of abilities, especially AOE abilities), when you don't build any protections and every minion wave is contested. You likely just won't be able to safely build stacks there, unless you're playing against people that don't know what they're doing.
A typical build for Thana will involve the mace tree, with focus on power and sometimes/often CDR. Since his base damage and the damage built into his Death Scythe is so good (along with the fact he can execute enemies at lower health), he can build bruiser (with some protections) and remain effective. He also doesn't need much flat pen due to Scent of Death, but he'll benefit from some alternate forms of pen (either protection reduction such as via Void Shield, or % pen from Titan's Bane). Ancile is also a decent one if you need magical protection, or you can also consider dual protections such as from Mantle of Discord.
So, in general, it would be suggested as a vanilla Thana build to get rid of HS and Katana, and replace with items such as those mentioned above...though you can add Bloodforge and Brawler's Beat Stick to the list of functional items.
But if you really like the Hastened Katana effect, then since you'll be dealing a decent amount of damage from up close, I do strongly suggest some protections to help your survivability. You might also consider the use of Stone Cutting Sword for a different form of pen.
In which case...I feel Heartseeker needs to go. Big time. That's what I'd sub out for prots.
