Introduction

Hello Everybody and welcome to my second smite fire guide, this one will be of Aphrodite, Goddess of Beauty.

I am a smite player who most of the time plays conquest. Aphrodite remains one of my favored gods in smite overall!, thus this is a guide for Aphrodite in the Support, Mid and Solo lanes. Please do remember that: this is my second Smite Fire Guide and there are a variety of Items above, if some of them don't work for you, please do leave a comment of the things that should be added/edited.

Regardless, lets move on to the Queen herself, Aphrodite!

Items

Warlock's Sash Warlock's Sash It gives +50 Magical Power, +300 Health and +400 Mana which is good for early sustain and better wave clear. It's Passive gives you +6 Health and +.6 Magical power per stack, 5 Stacks per enemy kill and 1 stack per minion kill. This item is great for mages needing more power, Aphrodite is a great example of one. She can be murderous in some situations with enough power!

Shoes of Focus are a great mix with warlocks sash because of their mana boost. They grant +250 Mana, +40 Magical Power, +10% Cool down reduction and +18% Movement speed. This means the two Items together give Aphrodite 976 Mana which is great early game. The Cool down reduction is also good for Love Birds because this is the ability Aphrodite will be mainly using in this guide so the more it is available the better.

Shoes of the Magi are also great Starter shoes, they give +45 Magical power, +10 Magical Penetration and +18 Movement speed. These shoes are for more aggressive players, maybe if you are feeling a little confident you might build these to exterminate your enemies quicker ;P

Rod of Asclepius is a great healing item. It gives +75 magical power, +250 Health and +10% movement speed. It has two Passives. It gives Allies nearby and yourself regeneration, but while in combat, you provide 20% more additional healing yourself. Meaning that love birds will be more effective. Extra heals are great on Aphrodite because she can be kept alive longer. You don't really want to start feeding, so I recommend this item VERY much.

Book of Thoth is a great mid laning item. It gives +100 Magical power, +125 Mana and +15 MP5. It's passive is gaining 10 mana per stack, aswell as transforming 3% of your total mana into magical power. Aphrodite can build this because of the lack of mana sometimes. The more mana the better as I would say, as a really ability dependant player.

Breastplate of Valor is a good item because it provides +65 Physical protection, +300 mana, +10 MP5 and +20% CDR. So basically, it increases your mana pool, gives protections, increased mana regeneration and reduced cool down times which is really handy. Building this against Physical gods in the Duo or Solo lane would be really great as physical gods like Chaac or Ah Muzen Cab are really deadly at times.

Mantle of Discord is a Defensive item giving the buyer 60 Physical and Magical protections, and +15% Cool down reduction. Also, If you reach below 30% of your maximum health, it releases a shockwave stunning nearby enemies and granting yourself CC immunity for one second. Pretty neat if I do say so myself. I recommend building this item in either the Duo, solo and or Jungle roles.

Bulwark of Hope Is an item that gives +60 Magical Protection, +200 Health and +20% CDR. It also gives you a temporary health shield when you reach below 30% of your maximum health. So, It gives you more health in times when you are being chased for example by a Kali so you survive longer, and you may even get away alive :D.

the Spirit Robe is an Item granting the buyer +40 Physical and Magical Protection, +10% CDR and +20% CCR. You also gain 15% Damage mitigation when hit by a hard CC effect. Which is good because you can not take as much damage when being, for example dragged by a Khepri towards an Artemis.

Rod of Tahuti is an Item that gives +125 Magical damage and +30 MP5. It also increases your magical power by 25%. Amazing Damage Item.

Gem of Isolation gives +90 Magical power, +250 Health and +10% CCR. Enemies hit by your abilities when you buy this item, move slower by 25% for 2 seconds. This is a good Item to stop people from running away when they're low. For example you could stun them with Kiss and they would be slowed when they come back to being concious giving you time to use Love Birds and Back Off!

Divine Ruin is an item that gives +80 magical power and +10 penetration. It also reduces enemy healing and regeneration when hit by an ability. This would be a good item against a Ra for example, or even a Sylvannus, Guan Yu or Hel

Demonic Grip gives +60 Magical Power and +20% Attack Speed. your basic attacks also reduce your opponents' magical protections. So you could be rapidly hitting them with your staff while their protections were being reduced.

Void Stone is an item that gives +40 magical power and +60 magical protections. As well as reducing enemies magical protections by 20 in a 55 unit radius.

Ethereal Staff Is an item that gives +90 magical power, +200 Health and +20% CCR. Your abilities also deal damage equal to 5% of the targets maximum health. This item would be good to take down tanks like Sobek or Ymir or even Cabrakan while tanking a couple hits.

Chronos' Pendant Gives you massive CDR, 20% to be exact, while also taking away 1s from each of your abilities every 10 seconds.

Obsidian Shard is an Item that gives +60 Magical power and +33% Magical penetration.

Dynasty Plate Helm is a defensive item granting the buyer +15 Magical Penetration, +45 Magical power and +30 Physical Protection. This item is a good Jungling item as most other junglers are physical attackers.

Spear of Desolation is a Massive power boosting item, granting +80 magical power, +20 magical penetration and +10% CDR. Earning a kill or an assist while building this item subtracts 1s from each of your abilities.

Counter Building

So, Before we get into the Gameplay, let's talk about counter building. This is very important when playing most gods. For example, Let's say you are fighting a Tyr in the Solo lane, and he starts building frostbound, That slow might get you a lot of deaths, so try build an anti-slow item. Winged Blade for example. Or, someone is building Magical protections against you, build Obsidian Shard. The extra pen really is useful so don't ignore what your enemies are building, and build against them. This will give you a higher chance of Victory.

Early Game

Solo :

When playing solo with aphrodite, you will be going up against some tough foes. Tyr, Guan Yu, Chang'e Susano Bellona Etc. Most of these are Physical, that is why you're building Breastplate of Valor. So, when you start, Pick up your chosen starter items and level your 3, Love Birds This will give faster wave clear and help you with buffs. Once you finished clearing a couple of waves, and the enemy Solo and Jungler are going to do their buffs, you and your jungler do the Fire elementals ( The small dudes at the fire giant early game ) as these are the best gold and xp boosters early game. Once you clear them, go do your mana buff with your jungler and when you're done that he / she can go do their Speed buff. You will want to ward behind the Fire Giants spawning area, as that is where the enemy team will often come to gank.

Mid :

When you're playing in the middle lane, warding is more important than in any other lane as you are in the middle. Enemies have to travel shorter to get to you than to get to the other side of the map, for example, the duo laners have only a short distance to travel to you rather than to travel to the solo lane. So you must ward beside the mid harpy camps to see when they're coming. In the middle lane you will want to most of the time have the damage buff.
As most Mid laners are magical gods, you will want to build something like Genji's Guard if you are falling behind, but in the rare occasion that the Mid Laner is Physical, Neith Chiron or Anhur for example, you will want to build Breastplate of Valor.

Support :

When you're playing support, the most important thing to keep in mind is to keep your ADC alive. They are your primary source of damage so don't really build much damage, but build some. For example : Rod of Asclepius Shoes of the Magi and Ethereal Staff and Void Stone.
You will want to ward behind the Gold furies structure in which she sits in.
As the support player, you must help the adc with some tasks like clearing the Void buff or the Oracle Harpies, Try clearing the Oracle Harpies as much as possible for Extra Vision around the jungle.

Jungle :

Finally we have jungle. While playing jungle, you will want to always keep the Speed buff under your control so you can travel from one side of the map to the other quickly. you will want to ward places like the enemy buff camps to see what they are doing. Early game, you should help your solo laner clear the fire elemental because as I said previously, they are the best gold and xp buff aside from the portal demon, gold fury and fire giant. And as most Junglers will be Physical, apart from sometimes Ao Kuang and sometimes even Anubis you will want to build Breastplate of Valor in order not to get murdered in a couple of hits.

Mid Game

Solo :

As the solo in Mid game, you will already be around level 10. before level ten, you should been clearing the fire elementals until they despawn at 10:00, Then, gather your whole team to the Gold fury and kill her for the gold boost. This will help you in completing your build, A full build, full stacks Aphrodite solo is an absolute nightmare I swear. You will want to be peeping in on the mid laner usually and helping him / her out a little when your opponent solo backs. ( lets hope he has no Teleport Glyph )

Mid :

As the Mid laner, you will need the damage buff an awful lot more. You should also kill the mid harpies from time to time, even though they are the worst camps in S4, they still give you a bit XP and Gold. The more gold, the more items the more kills ;P

Support :

As the support, you will have wanted to keep your ADC alive. Done that? Great! VER. Keep on warding behind the Gold Fury and you should be good for the rest of the match, well, if everyone ganks you maybe not. If that does happen however, you should try mitigate as much damage as you can while your teammates come to the rescue and destroy the enemy team.

Jungle :

As the Jungler you will want to gank as much as you can. because the more kills you get the more gold. And completing your build is important. really important. So as long as you keep ganking and keep healing you should be good.

Late Game

In late game, you all have a single role, no matter which role you are playing.
Defeat the Gold Fury, Defeat the portal demon, Back, Defeat the Fire giant and charge the enemy base. First, go kill the Gold fury. First ward around her from where enemies are more likely to come to invade try steal her from you.
Once you killed her, go to kill the Portal demon. Then you all retreat to base, buy your items and return using the handy portal the Portal demon left behind him. Then kill the Fire giant and charge the enemy Defenses if there are any left and Kill the titan

Pro's & Cons

Pros:
  • Really Strong
  • Can adapt to nearly every role!
  • Good waveclear
  • Great mobility while having a Soul mate
  • Immune enemy ultimates using Undying Love
  • a nice handy Stun, Kiss and damage buff to your soul mate
  • Great 1 + 3 + 2 combo
  • Great Healing ability to both her and her soul mate.
Cons:
  • Kind of squishy against gods like Tyr and Hercules in the early game
  • not a friend with Anti-Heals
.

Conclusion

Aphrodite is a great god overall, I mean, she can adapt to the Jungle, Mid, Solo and Support roles. Not very much gods can do such a thing!!
I hope this helped anyone in one way or another. Any feedback or Changes would be greatly Appriciated.

Hi Sylvurr,

Just wanted to throw out some comments...I will say that your core build structure looks generally solid, but in some cases I'd say some things could be adjusted.
