Basically, I think Smite has a serious problem right now, and it is in how every single "new" god has some hard CC. I think that is a problem, when older gods without either need to fill in another niche, or become useless in conquest, like Ares.

This series of proposed changes would hopefully fix that, by creating a standard for the CC-level of each god, and making it easier to balance the existing gods. If the power level of everyone was scaled down slightly, it'd easier for the ones already on rock bottom to float upward.

The overall goal of these changes is to lower the overwhelming amount of CC in this game while preserving the uniqueness of each character. Neith will still feel and play like Neith, even with a slight reduction to her CC.

Er, I didn't put Arachne because I don't know a way to reduce her CC without making her useless or overpowered.

Smite really does have too much CC... I'm not gunna lie. I would be happy if most adc's got there CC taken away. *cough* Neith *cough*

Burn her at the sta- Oh, change her well... To me I would love if they just reworked her jump. Just gave her a completely different escape. And I like your idea of reducing her root. Next I still want them to keep her an Ad caster, they shouldn't change that at all.

So much Neith hate :(

Ironically, I think her backflip isn't the worst thing in Smite. She needs to use it for the waveclear unless she gets fed, and while it technically goes the longest distance, I find escapes like The Moves or Rising Jaguar to be better escapes. The 4.5 second slow is a bit ridiculous, though.

removing her debuff on unravel, remove the slow from her backflip and take of the AoE root and make it just an explosion.

smite has way more cc then anyother moba. but i do not think change's should be neccesary other then nerfing gods that need it. like ao(50% slow was never a good idea) and neith.

the reason i don't want change's is that the smite should never be like other moba's. smite is very focused on mobility and fast fight's. the flip side to a lot of mobility is low kill potential so to fix that they had to put a lot of cc in to make it possible to kill people.

some gods need less cc and some need more but if i see god's in smite be changed so much to the point where they are like LoL champions in cc is probebly the day i will leave smite.

I see I'm one of the few that like that Smite has a TON of CC, I just feel it makes it more challenging to play. Removing CC from a lot of gods would kind of just remove some of the skill it takes to not be hit by it IMO :p


btw I think the Merc change would make him more of a beast actually, because as is now you can beads and he stays in place for 2 sec or your team can kill him while he spins you :P

That crossed my mind, actually. Maybe if the target gets away with beads, Mercury trips or something? Gah. The mechanic itself is complex, I'm not sure how to weaken it without crossing one line or the other.
