Bellona dashes forward and bashes with her shield, dealing damage and Slowing enemies. Bellona gains 1 Stack of block for each enemy god hit. Block absorbs all damage from a single Basic Attack and reflects a portion of the damage around her.

Bellona then makes Basic Attacks with sword and shield until she has not taken or dealt damage in the last 7s. Every 3 successful basic attacks she gains another Stack of block (max. 3).

Ability Type: Dash, Slow, Damage

Bellona summons a hammer and spins, hitting every enemy around her and then smashing forward in an overhand attack. Each enemy god hit in the spin increases the damage of the overhand attack.

Bellona now makes Basic Attacks with her hammer until she has not taken or dealt damage in the last 7s. Every hammer attack hits all enemies in melee range and only benefits from 33% of Bellona's total Lifesteal.

Ability Type: Circle, Damage
Spin Damage: 35 / 65 / 95 / 125 / 155 (+25% of your Physical Power)

Bellona summons a scourge, dealing damage to all enemies in a line. Enemies hit are Disarmed, and cannot make Basic Attacks.

Bellona now makes Basic Attacks with a scourge until she has not taken or dealt damage in the last 7s. Basic Attacks have extended range (+4) and every third attack heals Bellona.

Introduction

Welcome to my guide for Bellona, Goddess of War

My name is Zilby. I am a casual player who primarily plays conquest. My preferred role in conquest is the solo lane, however this is a guide for Bellona in the solo lane and jungle.

This is my eighth smitefire guide, and I intend to update it, so feel free to comment things that should be added/edited.

Regardless, lets move on to the warrior herself, Bellona!

Pros / Cons

Pros:
  • Very bulky and has passives that increase her defenses
  • Easily counters basic attack focused gods with Master of War and Scourge
  • Hits hard and has good base damages
  • Strong throughout the game
  • Scales reasonably well
  • Good lane clear with Bludgeon and Scourge and sustain
  • Decent poke with Bludgeon and Scourge
  • Great at keeping enemies close with Shield Bash and Eagle's Rally
  • Decent CC overall
  • MADE for teamfights
Cons:
  • Only so-so mobility (pretty much just Shield Bash)
  • Only has two escapes, her ultimate and Shield Bash
  • Difficult to master all her abilities and weapon types
  • Weak against ability based gods
  • Hard to land enough basic attacks for crit items to be worthwhile without an additional item (eg: Frostbound Hammer)
  • Not enough CC to be the best support
  • Best lane clear ability ( Bludgeon) can be interrupted by CC

Items: Single 'em Out (Jungle/Solo)

This section is built around the "Single 'em Out" core build above as well as situational items. Do note this build is built around 1v1s using AA (ie: auto attacks), leaving you with somewhat less of a teamfight presence, but a stronger early game for ganks and more offensive power alone. If you wish to go on an overpowered murderous Bellona rampage, this is your ticket. This build is ideal for getting an early game advantage over another opponent (especially another Bellona) if decided to use in solo or for jungling. I would also usually recommend invading when using this build.

This item list will go in order of early game to late game items.

Alternative Penetration

Alternative Power

Alternative Attack Speed

Alternative Protections

Items: Tanky Power (Solo)

This section is built around the "tanky power" core build above as well as situational items. Do note this build is for teamfighting and doing lots of damage to lots of people while staying in the middle of the fight, not for dueling. This is the 'safer' build out of the two options, leaving you with much higher defenses, mana sustain, cooldown, CC resistance, etc.

This item list will go in order of early game to late game items.

Matchups (Solo)

Bellona can be strong in 1v1s or teamfights depending on how you build her. As a result, the opponent you're laning against has an impact on which you may want to choose. Here are the matchups of some typical opponents you may find in the solo lane.

mages

warriors

Assassins

Hunters

Conclusion

Bellona is a great solo laner, jungler and one of the best bruisers in Smite.
A true rival to Ares and Athena, masterful Bellona players shall achieve nothing but victory!
I hope this guide helps any new Bellona players out there, happy smiting!

It honestly could have been worse it dosn't really extend my play style but for a better bellona player it would be a very well done guide *thumbs up!*

Honestly there haven't been that many meta changes, but most of them for Bellona were pretty obvious. Examples include: Mail of Renewal becoming viable and thus becoming an option, Hand of the Gods no longer being a core jungler item, starting with potion of physical might in the jungle, the Mystical Mail start in solo rather than Runeforged Hammer, amongst other things. Most of the changes I'm making are more in relation to the Bellona nerfs though since those were plentiful. You'll be seeing a lot of changes to this guide once it's all done, I'll be publishing it all at once rather than incrementally.

Nah man its good. It takes ALOT of time to be good at this game, or any Moba in general.

To have a good feel for the meta just look at the pros playing (although that shouldnt be your number 1 thing to learn from) and top Smitefire guides. Just go to the gods name in the bottom and look for the guide thats-

1) At least somewhat recent, maybe 1-2 months since last update.
2) Has good views. Still dont depend on first impressions on views.
3) Comments on those guides give good criticism and lots of new ideas (usually)

Not to sound sarcastic, but that should tell just how bad my knowledge with this game is. As much as Id like to think Im good, everything on this site tells me theres a lot more to learn about this game. Im not even sure how the builds on this season were supposed to be lol.
I just want to stay relevant and learn you know? But thatks GGF

Doesnt matter if you know now anyways, a new season is about to start in the new year, or even sooner. With a new season comes a new meta.

You still have to be more specific though. You cant just say "meta". Its alot more complicated then that. Think of it like preferred builds and items.

Depends on context Brokellona. In general though: Fenrir has more initial burst than you with his Brutalize but you can almost match this with your Bludgeon. Your basic attacks will do more than his in most contexts due to your passive, disarm, etc, so keeping him close is preferable for winning a 1 on 1 fight. If he tries to leap away, you can use your ultimate to catch up to him and your Shield Bash if he tries to get away by using the small dash on his Brutalize. If he ults you and puts you in a bad position, if your ultimate is ready you can use it to reposition yourself and prevent yourself from dying. In terms of how this all applies, it really depends on what role you and Fenrir are playing (solo or jungle most notably) and how each of you are building (all damage, bruiser, ability based, basic attack based, etc).

Hope this helps.
