Last three items are interchangabel depending on how you play. And dont be afraid to play with this build and try diffrent combos
Tap each threat level to view Thanatos’s threats
IF the nemesis is good at the game get your ult to hit as you engage then she tends to be easy, otherwise challenging. Just make sure to use your abalities and dont be afraid to ult away if things go sour

I picked anubis because hes cool. What this is really for is to tell you that enemies with a lot of stun potential can be an annoyance but only deadly when others are around

Extreemly annoying and difficult to kill if she uses her abalities appropriately to kite you only to run away. Jump in to fight her only after shes used an ability or two. After that shes an easy kill.

Loki in particular is most deadly mid to late game because of his ult because of your lower health and trust me he'll use it on you every chance he can get. Otherwise in a headon fight hes an easy kill with your life steal being high with your crazy attack speed and dmg. It is also that way with many other assassins.

His attack speed and crits late game are higher than anything youll be able to heal from. If you see a bakasura with my build ill be posting soon, run. Run fast and only engage when hes at half health or a much lower level than you, or if you have two people to help kill him. Even then be cautious of his insane team killing ult.

Last three items are interchangable. You want a little cool down to obtain your ult more often late game. And only having a lvl 1 ult for almost the whole game makes it an escape or stun tool. Less of a dmg tool to try and keep you from diving into crazy fights. And please dont be afraid to give suggestions after playing around with this build and customizing it to yourself. The feed back will be tested and added if its good ^-^
Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.

My suggested damage build:
Warrior Tabi
Jotunn's Wrath
Hydra's Lament
Heartseeker
Brawler's Beat Stick or The Crusher
Titan's Bane or Void Shield
Replace any item (not boots) with a defensive option like Mantle of Discord or Magi's Cloak for some more survival.
I would personally replace a flat penetration item.
Warrior Tabi
Jotunn's Wrath
Breastplate of Valor
Pestilence/ Bulwark of Hope
The Crusher
Brawler's Beat Stick
Please disregard the above suggestions. When I made these suggestions, I was in jungle practice and momentarily confused flat penetration with physical power. Physical power can be overcapped (with jungle buffs and potions), but flat penetration can't.
Thanatos gets +35 flat penetration from Scent of Death (Max level). In order to prevent overcapping of flat penetration, here's my revised builds (Mostly targeted towards Arena/Clash):
Full Glass Cannon:
Transcendence
Warrior Tabi
Jotunn's Wrath
Hydra's Lament
Bloodforge
Titan's Bane/ Void Shield
Glass Cannon Build 2:
Transcendence
Warrior Tabi
Hydra's Lament
Brawler's Beat Stick
Bloodforge
Titan's Bane/ Void Shield
Bruiser:
Transcendence
Warrior Tabi
Hydra's Lament
Heartseeker
Void Shield
Ancile
Anti Heal Bruiser:
Transcendence
Warrior Tabi
Hydra's Lament
Breastplate of Valor
Pestilence
Brawler's Beat Stick
Of course, buy defensive/hybrid items earlier if you're getting focused by the enemy. Buy them later if you're good at positioning and not being focused.
Aggressive Damage Combo: 4, basic attack, 2, basic attack, 3, basic attack, 1, basic attack.
Also, I disagree with his use of Hastened Katana due to him having a speed buff in his 2 and a slow in his 1.
Bran, be Tyr for a second. Be Judge, Jury, and The Executioner, and tell me what you think.
You will never overcap power. Also, I disregarded your other comments because that's what I do.
Your glass builds look good, but I might even suggest offering another build that doesn't rely on Trans, or builds Trans later. It just really delays the rest of his kit.
In the bruiser build, I might consider Void Shield / Ancile earlier, and delay Hydra's Lament or make it optional.
In the anti-heal bruiser, go Brawler's Beat Stick OR Pestilence (only Pest if other teammates don't get it probably), but not both. Also, if you DO get Pest, that gives enough magical protection and health that you might go Void Shield and Jotunn's Wrath.
Another functional bruiser item would be Hide of the Urchin. Get only that for defense, and build offensive items around it.
Did you even read what I wrote? I said I momentarily confused power and flat penetration, and gave non optimal build suggestions due to that blunder. Although POSSIBLE, you likely won't overcap power, but you WILL over cap flat penetration. Yea no kidding man, "I disregarded your other comments because that's what I do" couldn't be a more accurate statement from you. Ok, all jokes aside. Let me respond to your "criticism".
Yea, I can agree with getting the Transcendence later. Hydra's Lament is a good item on any damage build due to that combo I mentioned.
I can also agree with getting the Void Shield/ Ancile earlier in a bruiser build. Definitely gives you more functionality/options/survival.
There's nothing wrong with getting Brawler's Beat Stick and Pestilence in the same build together. Pestilence is an amazing magical defense item on its own. Significant magical protections AND +200 health. That's NOT something to scoff at. I think I'd replace the Transcendence with a Void Shield then.
Ok, is this better? Transcendence is 4th because a mage/hunter will likely be building stacks early, and whenever I build Transcendence, I don't have a problem stacking it as a 4th item (Arena). You can also opt to build it 3rd if 4th is cutting it too close.
Full Glass Cannon:
Warrior Tabi
Jotunn's Wrath
Hydra's Lament
Transcendence
Bloodforge (5th/6th item)
Titan's Bane/ Void Shield (5th/6th item)
Glass Cannon Build 2:
Warrior Tabi
Hydra's Lament
Brawler's Beat Stick
Transcendence
Bloodforge (5th/6th item)
Titan's Bane/ Void Shield (5th/6th item. or get Void Shield 3rd and Brawler's Beat Stick 6th).
Bruiser:
Warrior Tabi
Hydra's Lament
Void Shield
Ancile
Brawler's Beat Stick
Bloodforge
Anti Heal Bruiser:
Warrior Tabi
Hydra's Lament
Breastplate of Valor
Pestilence
Void Shield
Brawler's Beat Stick
I know it's not bad to build both pest and bbs, but if you need to build bbs, it's likely another, tanker teammate, will build pest. 2 pests has that possibility of inefficiency (since the auras don't stack) and I don't think you should propose a standard build that covers specifically when teammates don't actually do their job.
Again, it's not about team mates doing their job or not, Pestilence is a good magical protection item that's cheaper than bulwark, and with +20 more magical protections.
I need to see you get good. Sure, next time man."27 kills my first match" =
I'm trolling and just created a new account so I'm smurfing this one and I'll build whatever tf I want.
No offense, but against normal competition, this is a terrible build.
Sorry, let me try again. Can you do well with this build? Sure, it's got very high power (but almost 0 penetration from items), but there are major issues with functionality on the build. Either you're facing low level competition, your skill level is crazy high, or you've always got good teammates to cover you and allow you to deal damage. And that's no excuse or good reason to use this build as-is.
You've got healing in your Death Scythe, so you don't really need lifesteal from Devourer's Gauntlet. Bloodforge as 2nd item is very costly and delays your power curve (though those 2 items together do give you very high power at 2nd item). This is also double-lifesteal, and combined with your Scythe, any lifesteal is going to greatly shut that aspect of your kit/build down hard.
As boogie says, Frostbound Hammer + Hastened Katana is control overkill for staying close to the enemy. With only Katana and Qin's (5th item, pretty late in the game) as attack speed items, you're not getting as much out of your basic attacks as you might otherwise. And with him doing the most harm to the enemy with his abilities and his execute ult (because you can't argue he's 100% an ability-based god), you're doing no favors by only considering CD as last item.
And only the 10% MS? Sure, you've got situational/temporary MS out of Scent of Death, but when it's down, you're going to be fairly slow and easy to catch. You only have the 1 point in it until level 11, so that MS isn't going to be all that good to cover your overall lack of mobility. I'm really curious which mode(s) you play.
Finally...why wouldn't you just max out Death Scythe at level 9 if you're not putting it into the ult (which honestly you really should, due to the increasing health threshold...but you can't and you advise against going in, because you handicap yourself with the lack of MS in your build).
Those are the major flaws I see.
In a troll build with better flow, I can see using Hastened Katana, but only for the fact of sticking to the enemy. I would still max CDR, perhaps build 1 protection item with health to allow you to soak damage if you want to box them with Katana, and keep Hydra's Lament as a core item. It would probably look something like this:
Is it against the rules to have a build which most people think isn't (even close to) optimal?
I don't mind archiving if one or more of the following criteria are met:
Before we get into off meta/unique ways of playing certain gods, i want to make sure Vlad knows how to play a standard thanatos
But yeah, it's important to understand normal builds and build orders before going off on unique builds that offer different advantages (which this one is too unfocused to really do).
